Not recommended. You get the bare minimum for your money.
My husband and I stayed at studioflats at Notting Hill for 6 weeks over Summer this year.
Positive Points:
- Great location
- Courteous staff on site who *try* to be helpful.
Negative Points:
- We never once had hot water for the duration of our showers. They came to look at our boiler but apparently it was shared with the room next door so we had to either make a random guess as to when our neighbours were showering/ the tank was full or expect to run out of hot water in the middle of the shower.
- The wifi connection was very poor. Staff made some attempt to address this but it was unsuccessful. They told us if we wanted good connection we needed to use it outside the 'busy periods'. Shouldn't they facilitate for full occupancy? We ended up going out to nearby cafes, buying coffees and teas to use the cafes' wifi.
- The flat was not very clean - the shower head was 'bunged up' with limescale residue that we cleaned it out because the blockage was shooting water in all directions and wetting the bathroom floor, the cushions were filthy, the toaster was full of stains and food residue, as was the microwave. The one washing machine in the laundry room had not been cleaned and the iron and ironing board were stained. Staff changed the toaster and offered to clean limescale but it was just not worth getting in touch after a while because there would be some problem every other day.
- There was renovations going on next door, right behind the wall in our room. There was extremely loud drilling starting from 830am and ending only at 430pm from Monday to Saturday for the length of our whole stay. We were not informed in advance of this and placed in a room right next to the noise. Staff offered to move us to the room across the corridor but we had shifted and unpacked 6 of our boxes by this time and just could not bear to re-pack and move again to a room which was just *slightly* less noisy.
- The kitchen appliances were very basic and the knives were incredibly blunt to the point of being dangerous.
We would not recommend staying here. For the price you pay, you get the very bare minimum. It doesn't feel like the management company really care about your comfort or experience. The staff on site are polite and try to help but it feels like perhaps they themselves aren't able to really make any decisions or effect change.
