Bought a Manta

Bought a Manta, great device

Though custommer support doesn't answer to many emails, calls, and messages sent through their website, regarding a student discount code that was no longer active and questions regarding compatibility. Really disappointed

I got the A5X and I really loved the device. Like many others I was thrilled about features like the Kindle App and good customer service with quick troubleshooting when there was an issue. I was being told by the company before I purchased the A5X that waiting for the next generation (Manta) would not be necessary, it would be just minor improvements like exchangeable battery. The possibility to use Kindle now runs out and so does customer service with troubleshooting for some reason.

The device has issues every now and then and back in the days, Ratta was very quick to help, which I really appreciated.
It seems like something has changed.

2months ago I needed to work on a pdf for an interview couple of days later, which was pretty urgent (I told them) and I could not highlight everything. Feedback came in over a week later when the interview was already over. I had to print out everything. On top it wasn't very helpful. My files are supposedly the problem.
Now another issue. I wanted to send a signed document from Supernote to my computer. All that arrived was an empty document for some reason. I wrote Ratta 10days ago. No response.
Very unfortunate. Again, I had to print out everything for my signature. Not really in the sense of "paperless".

My next device won't be Supernote anymore, I am thinking about Remarkable or an iPad.
I need something that works.
And if it doesn't, I need at least some support. Both doesn't seem to be always given here.
At that price point (I paid over 700Euros for my device) not great.

I still hope Ratta/Supernote will change for the better.
So, 3stars for the idea, their good note taking system and one for motivation.

Loss of Kindle Support on Supernote A6 & No Loyalty Upgrade Path

I bought a Supernote A6 largely because of three things Supernote promotes: built to last, ongoing software support, and native Kindle compatibility. After Amazon discontinued support for older Kindle app versions (May 2025), my Supernote can no longer download Kindle books—one of my main use cases.

I contacted Supernote support. They confirmed:

No update will be provided to make the Kindle app work again on A5X/A6X.

Workaround is to use the Kindle web app in a browser (far less convenient than the native app).

Newer models (Nomad, Manta) do support the updated Kindle app.

No loyalty discount, trade-in, or upgrade program is offered to affected existing customers (unless you qualify for a student discount, which I do not). Refurbished units may be available at lower cost, but still at the customer’s expense.

Supernote has otherwise continued to update device software—but the loss of a key advertised feature with no practical support path leaves me disappointed. If Kindle access is important to you, confirm current compatibility before buying. And be aware that “built to last” doesn’t currently extend to maintaining third-party app functionality on older hardware.

I hope Supernote reconsiders a loyalty upgrade option for long-time users.

Supernote excellent

The Supernote A5 X2 Manta is, without a doubt, top-tier among digital notebooks. A colleague of mine owns the Remarkable 2, and I was fortunate enough to try it out for a while. After comparing the two, I can confidently say that the Supernote offers a superior writing experience.

One standout feature of the Supernote is its intuitive software. The interface is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate without needing a manual. Everything feels natural and straightforward. Additionally, the device is designed with practicality in mind—every component can be replaced easily if needed, which is not something you can say about the Remarkable.

In many ways, the Supernote feels like the Apple of digital notebooks. It doesn't just work well; it exudes quality. Holding it, you can tell it's a premium product that combines functionality with exceptional craftsmanship. If you're considering a digital notebook, the Supernote is an investment worth making.
