Great service with easy to use program

I have been with SurePayroll about 2 months and so far I have had a great experience. The sign up was extremely smooth and fast. The demo was very thorough and doing payroll each week has been super easy. I also like that they take the taxes out of my bank each week to hold in escrow to be paid monthly or quarterly so I don’t have to worry about a big draw at one time. So far they have been great.

This is a HORRIBLE company

This is a HORRIBLE company. Former Office Manager here who used this company regularly. There are a million hidden fees, customer service is a joke and employees, both current and former, are constantly calling me for help because Customer Service is not even allowed to talk to employees. Such a waste of time. Employees cannot get their paystubs or W2’s through the website so I got nonstop calls. They refuse to help employees and hold their financial information hostage so it was all on my back. And the lost password function on the website does not work so former employees also have to call me. The website itself is primitive and hardly ever works and customer service is useless. So unless you want employees constantly calling you for access to their paystubs and W2’s and wasting your time, and a stupid website that never works and customer service that has no idea what they are doing, choose someone else.

Kept charging me every month after cancellation

1) The interface and usage are better for accountants than normal people.
2) They kept charging me a monthly fee, month after month, after I cancelled it. I cancelled in May. They charged me in June. I called them and they said, "Oh yes, I can see that this is cancelled. This won't happen again". They charged me again in July. called them and they said, "Oh yes, I can see that this is cancelled. This won't happen again". They charged me again in August. I called them and they said, "Oh yes, I can see that this is cancelled. This won't happen again". They charged me again in September. I am now on hold on the phone as they assure me, "We will look into this and take care of this."

Onboarding was very difficult

Onboarding was very difficult. Adding employees is a manual process, which requires the employer to enter all of the employees information, tax status, and direct deposit information. When the 2nd payroll was processed, manual time entered by the employer was not picked up in the import process. Payroll was processed without these hours. There is no review for employees set up to review the final time before processing. Payroll and Time Input by employees are separate modules and are not integrated. The whole thing is a bit of a mess.

Good only for price not great otherwise!

I am using SurePayroll as my payroll partner only for its price as a Solo Employee Business. However, there are a lot of issues/bugs with your software that I will not feel confident when I grow and have more employees. In this case, I would switch to other payroll and ignore your prices as I would want piece of mind. Following are issues I have encountered so far:

1. No place to see my offer details.
2. New Hire Reporting only runs after 1st payroll. I do monthly payroll and hence I will fall out of compliance with State of California - so I basically had to do myself.
3. No place to see invoice of my subscription charges. Support says it will show after 1st payroll, which is weird.
4. Subscription charges are being taken from same bank account. I want to pay that with my business card/another bank account.
5. I see WY state in my account even though I do not file with the state. No way to remove it and support says its disabled.

Greatly enjoy this service.

SurePayroll has made the hiring of my first employee very easy. There isn’t a single detail that they don’t take care of for me. The cost of this service is remarkably low, certainly when I compare it to what my CPA wanted to charge I am very excited to recommend SurePayroll.
