Poor management

Out of all the places I have lived in the UK, one of the worst councils. They take absolutely no care in any of the public amenities, the few staff I have interacted with have been nothing but rude. The state of every single road in Swansea is disgraceful. Not only that, when they come around to fixing a pothole, the job is so bad that it lasts a few weeks.

Ignoring life and expediting climate change…

This is a complaint about ignorant people in the council that put a dead tree on display every Christmas to celebrate life, how hypocritical they are cursing the city with this gesture

Many cities globally decorate large, living Christmas trees annually, with famous examples including London (Trafalgar Square), receiving one from Norway; Prague, selecting a tree from the public; New York City (Rockefeller Center); and smaller towns like McAdenville, NC (Christmas Town USA), which decorates its whole town. Other notable spots include Rovaniemi, Finland (Santa Claus Village), Leavenworth, WA, and Strasbourg, France, all famous for their festive winter displays.
Swansea however has decided to live in the past following the victorians with their kill everything and stuff it then hang it on the wall or chop it down and drag it into the house to slowly rot, Yea this is so lovely

Third food bin this year as refuse…

Third food bin this year as refuse collector's throw them onto the pavement from the middle of the road. Bin lorry almost hit my wife as it flew down the pavement as she was walking off the drive so CCTV now fitted to safe guard us. Lorry's have done this so many times can't just wait 30 seconds for the cars to pass

Dreadful run authority

Awful run council. Appalling attitude on everything from repair reporting to anti social behaviour reporting. Nothing is ever their fault & their attitude towards the ordinary public is utterly vile. Repairs not done, tenants nor listened to. Their NSU service is completely useless, as nothing ever done about anything you report. I've lived under 4 council areas in my life. Swansea is by far the worst I've ever had the displeasure of coming under. It's no wonder the city now resembles something from the 3rd world. Unless you are student. They really don't care about you. Vile mafia type organisation. Need closing & starting from the beginning. Dreadful 🤮

Systemic systematic discrimination

Systemic systematic discrimination, social cleansing. I understand there is a housing crisis across the UK. There is still no excuse for poor community service customer service because of this council. I've spent the past 7 years of my life dealing with social exclusion and financial abuse.
Thay will house pretty privilege meaning they systematically still good looking blue eyed white attractive beautiful white women from deprived families and relocate them into their own areas.. Because of the descendants that work for them I finally know what social cleansing is. Gentrification

The Town is lacking in any real restaurants
Total disappointment that all restaurants seem to be Fish and Chips in various forms. Can’t understand that it is impossible to find somewhere to have good fresh food.
The town is just catering for kids holiday time with no view to extend the season for more mature holiday makers.
Look At Whitby in Yorkshire that have managed to get it just right. Lovely fresh fish available. The restaurants are very dirty and no caring.
Very disappointed

Swansea council are inept when dealing…

Swansea council are inept when dealing with the public purse. Swansea city centre is becoming a ghost town, roads ripped up,then re-ripped up. As for the housing department, its nothing short of abysmal. Two housing lists? No help for genuine people in need. Some of the people housed in my village by Swansea Council have no respect for their homes or gardens. Trashed gardens, litter everywhere, anti social behaviour, dogs barking constantly. Bring back the housing officers, who hide behind desks, do the job you get paid to do. Get back out into the neighbourhood and see how some tenants treat their homes. When so many, like us need housing. It's scandalous.

I complained twice about the state of…

I complained twice about the state of Neath Road on two occasions and nothing has been done. This area is slowly turning into a slum. There are open black bags, glass bottles, food waste and basically a dumping ground for other people's rubbish. The road itself is dominated by car showrooms, but at the Morriston end there is a stretch of grass land and this is where people are choosing to leave their rubbish. I received an automated response on two occasions advising that my complaint would be dealt with but to date the problem is still there and getting worse. I cannot understand why the council is letting this happen when they are so keen on recycling. I will not be complaining again as I feel it is falling on deaf ears.

Poor service from a council that does…

Poor service from a council that does not care about its paying public. And don't get me started on the staff within the housing options department. Most of whom are incompetent and DO NOT check important information, thus resulting in unnecessary long delays. No apologies for these delays either. They are playing with people's lives and no one takes accountability. They do not communicate efficiently or regularly and quite frankly do not deserve their salaries. Disgraceful.

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service, waiting for hours for them to pick up the phone is not the way a council should operate.my rent is in arrears because they are to friggin lazy to update their systems.what is the point of offering your services when you can't even get it right.its a shambles and people will get scared not knowing what's happening with Thier rent .you need to get a grip on how you run this council and the staff that don't want to answer the phones . disappointed isn't the word it's disgusting how you are treating members of the public like myself .

Never go to the cafe in civic centre

Never ever go to the cafe in the civic centre as I was there today my sister went in to buy hot drinks so when she came outside they had literally filled the hot drinks to the brim didn't even give paper towels or nothing to hold the cups with and the drink itself was boiling hot couldn't even pick the cup up as the lid had already split and it soaked my hand which is still stinging now after about 4 hours I rang to complain and eventually went through to the cafe itself after trying several times just to be put through to wrong departments and the attitude of the staff was well if it's that bad phone an ambulance or first aider the attitude absolutely stinks I spoke tidy to them to be spoken to like a piece of dirt I will never buy anything from there again no apology nothing nobody was interested my hand is still sore and red now I have also left a message with the complaints department but I doubt the council will do anyyabout it because they are useless and always side with their staff even though they are in the wrong never ever again am I going here

Terrible attitude of the staff. Genuinely hate the public

Terrible attitude of the staff. They seem to have genuine contempt for the public and after a hour and a half wait on the phone was spoken to as if I was a nuisance for contacting them at all. They don't collect my bins and when they do its sporadically at best. When I complain it takes weeks and sometimes months to settle. Not fit for purpose. I'd give a 0 if it was a option.

**** 10 STAR *****

Angels . Excellent service . Caring . Friendly staff . Fast repairs in the main .
I nearly came very unstuck by a Housing Association in England . Angels compared to some UK Housing associations . Doing vast checks via bank / police on you so you do not think to check them out .

Some in England are like something from a third world country; Who would have thought it! I had no idea . No heating for six months . Intimidation from repairs . They would rather go without .
The worst case I found was an elderly couple who did not have any hot water for thirteen years but used a flannel and kettle . Heart breaking .

Thank you so much Swansea Council .

Not until you start to compare you realise how good we have it & how lucky we are in City & County of Swansea .

City and County of Swansea failed to collect Food Waste and Garden Waste. Sent three messages asking for the reason why and when the collections would be made. No responses forthcoming. Asked local CCoS Councillor to follow up - still no response. Very poor customer service.
