Scam 14 Jan 2022

I'm 74, service connected disabled. Just trying to keep up with technical age, this is too much to handle, where has honesty gone?

SWENGINES PH 866-319-1058
Cancelation #387318

I searched for the best non scam service, I thought, for an engine for my 2007 Dodge Charger. Was offered deal right away with discount of $150 to order then. The web site looked so good, professional so thought all fine. I completed order, paid full amount of $3095 with address and all complete.

My son then told me to check complaints for company to make sure, I immediately saw multiple complaints and warnings. So I called immediately, within 1/2 hour to cancel, Was given run around then sent to supposed Customer Service, but told had to send me another person, which transferred to some private phone with an old lady mad that I had called her not connected with company at all.

I called my credit card company who then called with me stayed online. But same routine, same persons, and again, another phone call to another stranger not related to company also mad we called, the rep from Card Company on line the entire time. I filed dispute with card company at that time, payments pending could not just cancel.

Had another person 3rd party call too, who talked to this same two persons and given same routine but my person insisted strongly, to cancel in no uncertain terms. So was sent text to fill out to cancel order. I did that immediately and received verification it was cancelled. ALL within an hour of the original order.

First thing in morning I checked and the money had cleared. Friday, 14 Jan 2022. I sent a letter to complain and just got back this afternoon that they charged me 25% restocking fee of $773.75 returned only $2321.25 to my card. I replied that I did not accept this and called my CC company and told they would not allow and will investigate but even if works out will take weeks to settle. This business is really a scam, why are they allowed to be in business at all?

I have had the same experience with…

I have had the same experience with this company as everyone that has posted here.
I was sent at first a bad motor that was labeled "for parts only" and then another motor was sent that had 140,000 miles while the sales contract was for a motor with 64,000 miles. After I refused the 2nd motor they refunded part of the money but still kept $1488. This was completely on them to supply me with a motor as advertised but they miserably failed to do so.
I made many calls without getting through to anyone but or no response - within an hour or so of filing a complaint with the State of Wisconsin there was a response from their lawyer who was evidently just
waiting for this complaint.
They seem to only exist to rip people off. If that is not bad enough they have a lawyer that is corrupt enough to defend them. The State of Wisconsin wants to be rid of them but for some reason have not been successful. Mr Howard Phillips is more than willing to assist anyone with complaints. It may also help to address this to your credit card company and see what they can do to stop honoring sales through companies like this.
If they want to respond that is fine but as usual they will deny they have done anything wrong. If they want the invoice number they will have to look up the invoice themselves.

Run from these con-artist as fast as possible. My Mechanic said the engine was broken upon arrival. Both he and I called and emailed them over 1 dozen times and they refused to do anything.

So finally my mechanic had no choice but to put the busted crappy engine in, and he said, "well we will see how long this lasts"

24,000 miles later the engine completely crapped out on me. (supposedly, it only had 50,000 miles on it when the con artist sold it to me)

Their response was "you didn't file your warranty claim in 10 days" So F. U.

They have zero customer support. I have called between both times, more then 20 times and never got a response back. Finally the facebook review guy messaged me back to tell me that I was screwed.

Ordered turbos for the left and right…

Ordered turbos for the left and right side of my Ford F 150. Unfortunately, later in the day, I learned the engine (not from SWEgines) would not arrive for more than two months. So withing 6 hours of my order, I canceled. The cancellation charge, (which I unfortunately did not understand since it was under the warranty language) was 25%. Or for me, $190. That means that I paid them $190 for someone to type in an order cancellation. Thank the Lord I did not order an engine.

After the fact, I found scads of information on this crooked company including and new station report from the home town in Milwaukee. They are notorious for misrepresenting the products including the actual mileage put on their engine components. DO NOT USE THIS PEOPLE! If something goes wrong with the component, it's 25% and you pay the shipping. It's all stated under their warranty section. Don't walk, run away. I'll state if they reimburse for this unreasonable charge, I will recant my statements and give them a positive rating. But I don't think I'll hold my breath.....

Y’all suck

Y’all suck. Worse business I’ve ever dealt with. I know have a 500lb paperweight and they ignore my calls, hang up on you. Sancho or Sanchez never answers his phone. Lisa in parts doesn’t know how to transfer phones. Lisa I’m not that stupid, I know you were hanging up. The warranty is nothing, they don’t back it up. Don’t buy anything from here. The owner needs to be educated on how to do business and treat people right. I hate being ripped off by some lowlife.

The warning signs were there

It took almost 30 days for them to send out a motor they promised I would get in 14. The motor was not shipped according to how they said (i.e shrink wrapped) but it was on a 3x3 pallet, on the back of a flat bed. Exposed. The engine was rusty and full of water, it had broken and missing parts when it arrived. Totally unusable. I tried contacting SWE several times in regards to the condition of the motor and to seek some sort of resolution. At first I was getting the run around then I was getting shifted to different departments to which referred me to other departments. No clear person to talk to to handle the situation. I even tried to get them to speak with the mechanic in regards to the condition of the motor. Nothing. Two months later I had to go through my bank to get a refund because they refused to send a return shipping label or honor their own warranty after I sent them the pictures they required of the motor. Customer service was rude and evasive and kept transferring my calls and complaints to people who did not exist. They continually told me that a supervisor would contact me and yet to date I have received zero calls from anyone from the company.

SW engines were good for me.
I've never called them. All ordering done online a picture was available,
Shipping a little slow. Pandemic and lockdowns. Motor looks great, same motor in picture. Some of the free parts were broken. But lots of other free parts. Going through list they gave me. Then I'll be putting it in.

Went with these guys because the website promised a steam cleaned, shrink wrapped and crated, tested engine. What I got was an engine unsecured on a broken freight pallet, lying on it's side, no wrapping, intake and exhaust ports left open to the elements, dirty engine oil left in the crankcase, hole in the cast aluminum valve cover, cut hoses and harnesses, rust and grime etc. Look at the pictures.

Worst ever

Worst ever. told me all engines were local. Right out of Lake Erie took two hrs. To remove spark plugs because of all the sand and sediment panted motor black to hide all the mud and gunk. One exhaust manifold cracked. All connector hoses and wires cut. And 5 days later no cust. Service. The owner is cust. Service. What kind of punk is so scared as not to return a call. Do not even consider spending a minute or a penny with this POS. Another upset ripped off cust.
2k on there junk and another 2k with shop and who knows if it will even run or last. Do not buy from this ripoff punk

I ordered a 4.7L for a 2010 Ram 1500 on 14 June 2021. I was told 7-14 business days and that part was fine. I got sucked in by the 3 year warrantee, "No core charge" and "No shipping fee". Surprise of surprises when they send me a request for a review just 2 days later.
When it arrived at the shop it had lots of damage by mistreatment! Heater core lines and radiator hoses were cut, instead of just using the proper tool to remove the hose clamps. The shim between the engine and tranny was mangled so bad as to be useless! BOTH valve covers were bashed in on the front portion of the engine and stuffed with rags! Wiring bundles and connectors YANKED with force as to ruin the connectors. Main wiring bundle just cut through and drivers side exhaust line burned off the exhaust manifold, rendering it ALSO USELESS!!!!
I'm not an ASA certified or Master Mechanic, HOWEVER, I've been doing this for years and have NEVER seen such a piece of crap job of pulling an engine!!!
Pictures available upon request!

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company. They are a scam. I paid $2K for a Mercedes C230 engine because it supposed to have low mileage. They gave me the round around when I ask for VIN to confirm the mileage because I still see the engine I ordered posted online meaning they didn't give me what I ordered. The engine I got definitely doesn't look like a low mileage engine.

Never buy from this Company

Never buy from this Company. I paid for a 2008 V-10 engine 4k total. As there disclaimer said that it would take 7 to 14 days, so i waited and waited and waited. I call them fourteen time to get a day on shipping and was told that the engine was being checked out for shipping. I finely got a email station the on the second of June the engine would be shipped out. On May 28 received Email that the engine would not be shipped as stated on June 2 and no now shipping date. They refunded 3k instead of my 4k. This is a company that if they say we have your engine for 4k send me your money and if and when we get a motor in we will send it to you. Ask for a refund and 25% of your money will disappear.

Taken for a ride

I will put this as easy as one can, avoid buying anything from these folks. They are associated with multiple other companies and are even in a lawsuit currently in WI. What they sale is junk, pure and simple. I received my "low mileage, inspected and tested engine" and was concerned on the looks of it, my current 300,000 mile engine looks better then what I received. I am a shade tree mechanic so im not a stranger to working on and rebuilding motors. I removed the valve covers to install new gaskets and found the top end with a rusted up valve train. I decided to go further, cylinders were full of Marvel mystery oil, there was no motor oil in the pan. I will have to do a complete teardown, machine, and rebuilding of this motor. Save yourself time and money, buy a long block and get yourself a real warranty on something that will run straight out of the box.
