Don't go here
Part One: I originally went to Swish in October 2023 because I had quite a bit of work that needed being done. I went to them at least 6 times, getting extensive work done, and I was never informed that they do not take HMO plans from my insurance. I had to contact THEM for them to tell me this, after I saw a letter from my insurance that I owed over 3k for work I had already paid the "copay" for. I had received payment reminders through text messages from an unfamiliar number multiple times, but with no business attached to it (I googled the number to be sure), I had thought it was some kind of scam. It wasn't until I received the same message from Swish through my email on Jan 20th that I realized what it was. I had been seeing them for about a year by this point.
Part Two: I worked out a payment plan with Swish and was told that I could text them monthly with the script "This is [my name]. I'd like to make a payment of [$$$] on my account, with the card on file ending in [####]." So I've been doing this every month around the 4th since January. It is now May. Since I was getting help from my parents to pay this bill, I did not have access to the account information to confirm the charges went through. At the beginning of this month (May 7th), I texted them asking for an updated bill, and got no response. So I went onto their website and saw that the phone # to text has changed. So I texted the new # with the same request about an updated bill. No response. I also emailed them. Still no response.
Then today, I got a letter in the mail from a debt collector where it looks as though the only charge that went through was the first one (which I did over during the same phone call where I was told I could text their number with the script above). I was receiving payment reminders from Swish through my emails as recently as March, with the debt going down with each payment. But if my debt with them was already sold, then what was I paying them for?
