From good to the worst. Stick to traditional banks.

Support is (no joke) literally impossible to get ahold of. They just either return error codes, or copy paste responses that don't even relate to your inquiry.

They have been great for years but have destroyed any good by ruining the whole system. I am closing all account with synchrony this week.

Absolutely terrible experience. I feel second hand embarrassing from the level of mediocrity I've experienced this week.

Every point of contact doesn't work, and their phone lines sound like you're talking to someone through a soup can.

Quite literally impossible to speak to someone domestic.

Just terrible. They are driving long time customers away with their pathetic service.

Worthless support - and they don't care

Worthless support, terrible website. Won't sync with Quicken and support says contact Quicken, who says it's a Synchrony problem. If you have an Amazon or Sam's Club card, you don't really have an option though. You have to manually download transactions, month by month, and the navigation to get there is not intuitive. I have to figure it out every month. They don't care.

I have the amazon store card and had a 0% for 6 months. When I paid the portion of the promotion with my regular transaction bill they applied all the money to the promotional balance even though I had the allocation for non promotional first. My whole balance was paid in one month, they won't give me the 5% after screwing me over. Called twice and no I ne cares.

Those heartbreaking pet emergencies

As a pet owner who has faced many pet emergencies myself, I feel sad that vets recommend the use of Care Credit. They don’t realize how terrible this company is. My Care Credit is through Synchrony Bank. When you’re in the midst of an up to $10,000 emergency, without the ability to plunk that amount down on the spot, Care Credit may seem like a lifeline, but it will backfire. If you cannot pay the entire amount off right away, the interest charges will
give you a nose bleed.
If you need customer service from Care Credit, you can find online an incredible number of reviews all saying the same things: customer representatives are no help, they blame customers for problems Care Credit has created, they are rude, and oddly enough, customers are often called “liars”. That word kept coming up.
I’ve lived a long time, and I’ve never been called a liar before. I guess it’s comforting to know other people have had the same thing said to them? Maybe for me, but not for them.

My account has been hacked

My account has been hacked. “Fraud!” And this bank has been investigating As they say for 5 months. During the investigation they keep adding on Atlanta transfers. The bill was 1600.00. This morning as I look it’s 2600.00. I have not used this card since the incident.

Dysfunctional and enraging company

Dysfunctional and enraging company
This has been ongoing for several years. Company persists in rejecting all offers of credit, alleging that my cell phone number is not valid. Considering that I have had the same number for over 15 years, that allegation is completely preposterous.

Phone contact with the company's representatives are beyond frustrating and totally unhelpful. Total and absolute Kafka time.

Scam

Amazon I did not make this purchase on this card, and it's not allowed as a backup payment method in the settings either. Yet, they are harassing me and lowering my credit. I wrote and called twice; they kept ignoring my inquiries. Also, they promised a 5 percent bonus on a $400 purchase, but after calling and writing, I never received it.

Horrible,customer,service

Horrible, customer, service! I made my first payment in full ($21.46). It posted about 3 days apt the due date. I was billed a $21.46 late fee + $2.00 of minimum interest. I was able to call c/s to have the late fee waived, but was given a second number that I had to call to request the interest to be reversed. They wouldn’t do it! I’m sorry, but sometimes life happens & we should all deserve a small break. This is 1 card that I will be shredding tonight! Not worth the hassle.

Lowered my limits for no reason

I have multiple credit lines and never been late on a single line and have been a card holder for over 5yrs with these various credit lines(pay pal master card, Verizon visa, pay pal credit lines). I usually pay my balances off at the end of the year in full. The only thing I’ve done differently is now I own a home. All my bills are paid on time, less than half overall usage in general and with these credit lines, and no late payments in over 15 years and they reduce my credit limits to the point I’m at 95-97% of my credit usage. This action dropped my credit score 23 points. In the next couple years I will be selling and buying my dream home and I will be canceling these rinky dink cards from this untrustworthy company.

This bank has worst management it…

This bank has worst management it seems, even though they have posted one job opportunity, after application is submitted, the rejection email is received at the same time that doesn’t make sense to me. Hence, I give one star.

Frustrating and Misleading Experience

Frustrating and Misleading Experience

I had a very disappointing experience with the Ashley Furniture Credit Card through Synchrony. After speaking with multiple agents and managers, I was given a final balance to completely pay off my card. I paid the full amount the same day I was told, expecting that to be the end of it.

To my surprise, a month later I received another bill showing additional interest charges. When I called back, two different managers told me that interest had continued to accumulate even after I paid in full — on the same day they provided the payoff amount. I was never informed that this would happen, and they refused to remove the charges.

This felt incredibly dishonest and misleading. I was blindsided by extra charges that were never explained upfront. I would strongly caution anyone considering this card to be extremely careful and make sure they get everything in writing.

Confused -

I keep getting these e-mails telling me I have a letter and to log in and read it. Need my zip code first. I did all this and nothing. I don't have a balance on my JC Penney's account and it keeps coming thru this account. ????

Do not recommend Syncrony

I am giving one star, because I can’t give -100. I paid off my entire sofa purchase made through Ashley Furniture and contacted Synchrony to confirm the exact payoff amount. They gave me one value, but when I went to pay, they charged me a higher amount. Because of this confusion, I overpaid by $55, which they promised to refund.

It’s been over four months. I contacted customer service many times via chat and phone. Each time, they told me the refund was processed and that I’d receive a check within two weeks. But nothing ever arrived.

This issue is still unresolved. No one takes ownership, and the service has been completely unprofessional and disrespectful. All of this over a simple $55 refund that should have been handled long ago. I do not recommend using Synchrony.

WARNING: Avoid Synchrony at All Costs!

I heard from Synchrony's appalling lack of customer service. They claim to offer services, but when you actually need them, they're nowhere to be found. I've paid for services and insurance, but it seems like they're just collecting my money without any intention of providing the support I've paid for.
DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD FROM SYNCHRONY
DO NOT ENROLL IN THEIR INSURANCE PRODUCTS
Their business model seems to be all about taking your money without delivering on their promises. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with the way they've handled my account. If you value good customer service and actually receiving the services you pay for, stay far, far away from Synchrony.

I give them 0

I give them 0. Customer service is horrible. Anything that goes wrong is the customer’s fault. I was told that my incompetence with “video selfies” was the problem, not them. They reminded me over and over that the conversation was being recorded. Good. I was stressed because my card was blocked, but the agents refused to help me until I made a “video selfie” which is not possible from the directions. I cancelled on the spot, got argued with, told I’d never have an account with them again, and then I was charged with a cancellation fee.

Amazon Credit Card - such a hassle.

I have a Belk, Amazon, and Lowes card through synchrony. The only problem I have had is with the Amazon card. There have been at least two times that when I went to verify transactions, that all the transactions did not show up. Tried several days in a row, cleared browsing history, etc, to assure not on my end. Ended up chatting with Customer service. 1st hard to get to a human being. I'm thinking a possible way around this might be to put something not addressed in my answers. Something like, How do I get my husband to love me? That should shake up the AI. Finally got a person and it was difficult to get them to understand what my problems were. In fact, I had to explain it multiple times. Needless to say, they finally created a ticket to have this looked into. So frustrating. I mean with all the fraud out there I try to keep a close eye on things. Plus, even after all the charges appeared, the balance did not match what I think I owe. UGGGGGH.

I used Synchrony to finance a sauna

I used Synchrony to finance a sauna, the promotion expired and their interest charge is 100% of your balance, which they don't say or mention anything.

When you sign-up they don't actually call this out and don't send reminders / or anything else, which you would think would at a minimum, they would send some kind of reminder, but they don't send anything.

Synchrony says it values its customers, but it doesn't seem like theres any type of customer service if they're charging customers 100% of their balance and telling the customer that they should have remembered their terms from more than a year ago. Especially in this economy where layoffs are happening all the time, there's no humanity or basic decency compared to other lenders.
