I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I was on a free plan and wanted to try an upgraded version. The site initially stated "no credit card needed," but as soon as I tried to move forward, it forced me to enter my payment information.

The moment I provided my card info, I was immediately charged for an entire year upfront. There was no clear warning that I was committing to an annual subscription instead of a monthly trial.

I realized the mistake and canceled my subscription within minutes. Not only did they refuse to refund the large annual fee, but they also downgraded my account back to the "Free Plan" immediately. So, they have kept my money for a full year of service, but I no longer even have access to the Starter Plan I paid for.

This feels like a total scam. They bait you with a "no credit card" promise, charge you for a year without consent, and then take away the service even after keeping your money. Avoid this company if you value transparency and fair billing.

Great tool , where you can use multiple AI features

Using the Powerpoint to Video route, I have been able to rapidly produce over 12 videos that contain my personal avatar so that "I" am narrating the video. Synthesia creates an incredible video. I look forward to trying other modalities within the platform soon.

The team (chatbot) is very responsive if I have a question. Set up was fairly easy & straightforward. I've tried a couple of other similar tools and I unsubscribed (they were less expensive but you get what you pay for!). The only issue I have is making my own avatar more realistic (syncing lips). I'd also like to see hand gestures in future for myself (without studio).

Synthesia speeds up video production for the marketing, training and promotional videos I create for clients. It has terrific text-to-speech capabilities which significantly speed up production time for videos that require voice-overs. I find Synthesia easy to use while providing professional results.

Essential platform to produce Avatar led videos at scale

Synthesia.io have an awesome solution for creating professional video presentation for training, marketing, and all other types of videos you want to do. I love how you can create a text manuscript, then try different AI avatar (very lifelike) to get the exact type of video you are looking for. But you also need to know how to create a successful video, and Synthesia Academy is exactly what you need to learn this. Highly recommended!

This was one of the most engaging webinars I’ve attended in a long time. The host was genuinely charismatic and brought a real sense of energy that kept everything feeling interesting and easy to follow throughout.

It struck a great balance between being informative and genuinely enjoyable, which isn’t something you often get. So many webinars fall into that corporate, monotone style, but this felt completely different, more conversational, more familiar, and much more engaging as a result.

It actually left me thinking this is how webinars should be done going forward. It also gave a really positive impression of the team and culture behind it, to the point where it made me curious about what it would be like to work there.

Our partners have a big issue with bots and spam, so we provide video campaigns to make the system harder for bots to get through. We also needed interactivity baked into the video player. Upon our research, Synthesia was just the perfect fit for us. Because the avatars, especially the expressive ones with full body control, are synthetic, our users have commented that we use superior AI. They feel comfortable, even knowing that we are using AI.

However, I wish there were more two-person scenes or role plays. Right now, there's just one available.

I find Synthesia intuitive and fairly easy to use, which is a big plus since it makes it easy to learn and utilize. If there's ever something I need more information about, they have terrific online help and even offer online classes. I love the ability to import my own PowerPoint materials, as it makes branding or using a theme really simple. I also appreciate that if I have questions, I can just send a chat and get quick answers. The initial setup was seamless, which was great for our team of about 50 employees.

We mainly use Synthesia to create narrated screen recordings of our products for sales materials. We use it in Hungarian, and the text-to-speech in Hungarian is surprisingly good. Especially since Synthesia allows us to override pronunciation and insert pauses, we can do nearly perfect AI-generated narrations. We tried a lot of other tools, but Synthesia wins because it's easy to use. Instead of trying to be a power platform for AI-generated video, it concentrates on a smaller set of use cases, so it's very intuitive to use. Much easier than 11Labs, for example.
