One video went through with relatively good Japanese pronunciation. But still there was mistakes. So we fixed the pronunciations and tried to fix and generate the right one.

Then, that video was all of sudden rejected and you send over "FINAL" moderation warning. This is outrageous.

There is no consistency and reliability on this platform Synthesia. I will try to review all SNS and other media this this incident to warn Japanese corporate and individuals what happened with this platform.

If there any excuse, please let me know.

I tried to generate a test video for promotion of a business and it rejected the video. It said that the video does not comply with the Content Moderation Policy because I cannot use Stock Avatar for Promotion of the Business. I went through the Content Moderation page and it is something else.
What is the point of spending hours with the helpdesk/robots of Synthesia, instead of saving time.

My experience with Synthesia has been a mix of great potential and some frustration. On the positive side, it’s an amazing platform for creating professional videos quickly — especially for training, marketing, and internal communication. It saves a lot of time and resources, and the AI avatars and voices look very realistic.

However, I’ve also faced issues with their content policies. Some of my videos were blocked automatically by their AI, even though they were professional training materials with no inappropriate content. It’s disappointing when an innovative tool limits creators because of unclear or overly strict filters.

Overall, Synthesia is a powerful and useful platform, but it needs better review processes and clearer communication with users.

Useful for beginners indeed. I used what we learned and so far so good. More trainings like that with more advanced features will be great to attend. Thanks.

Terrible content moderation that prevents you creating anything useful. Their only solution was to create a personal avatar using myself. However, if I was going to do that, it would be simpler to just film myself for all the content. Apparently, a video about a singles party - for professionals to meet, is not allowed. It is automatically treated as adult content. There is no human moderation. This is just awful service unless you are doing completely bland corporate content which may work but might not. Look at the other one star reviews here. Anything that even hints are culture, religion, politics is banned from the get-go. Do not waste your time with this service as you will spend hours trying to fix the un-fixable. They offer AI chatbot then personal chat but they give basic answers, then disappear and do not answer your questions. If your content is rejected you cannot get a specific reason, which to my mind is so unhelpful as to be worthless.

Also, you cannot delete your account without going to their chat bot and spending ages requesting their consent to delete your own account. AVOID.

There were unexplained restrictions and limitations to the length of time for each scene within a project. So, you wouldn't know that you'd exceed a limit until you tried to generate the video and then you'd have to go back and edit it only to find out some new limitation that wasn't explained and have to edit or purchase something more to get your video. Once the video is generated, it then blocked it saying that personal avatars had to be used rather than the stock avatars that Synthesia provides. It was one roadblock after another. I would not recommend.

I really appreciate how easy to use the platform is and how clear and helpful the support materials are. Synthesya makes it simple to explore AI tools even for beginners, and the overall user experience is excellent. With the free account, I could only access a limited range of AI features. It would be great to have a bit more freedom to explore the platform’s full potential before upgrading.

Synthesia has become a very valuable tool. To be able to deliver video traing to my team in a clear and concisde manner via a tool that allows 24 hour review of the training by the team is outstanding.

I love Synthesia because it is very easy to use. Recently they made a massive upgrade providing lot more capabilities like translation, lot more templates/avatars etc., I would recommend Synthesia for all the marketeers and content creators.

The new interactive feature in creating a learning video makes it more fun and engaging. You can do a lot of things and be creative in measuring learning retention. What I like about Synthesia is they teach you how to create contents for your videos.

I like your sit, I wish I had more minutes for that price, I'm building my own website and I will make mistakes which will need a redo....

I subscribed to Synthesia thinking I was signing up for a monthly plan, but I was charged for a full year upfront without clear warning. After using it, I found the product very limited and not worth the cost compared to other AI tools I use. When I unsubscribed, Synthesia refused to refund the unused months, which feels unfair and misleading. I do not recommend this platform — there are much more transparent and flexible AI tools available.

I spent hours preparing a video with Synthesia, spent hundreds of $/£ on stock video and stock images. The video was fab, so I submitted it to announce that post Brexit that my company was launching into the EU. It came back as violating political content because I mentioned Brexit and stated I was critising the government, which is nonsense. Eventually, a couple of days later I got through to a human who was very helpful, but his moderation team would not budge. I spent more hours watering the video down (fortunately I still have the script to show what a ridiculous situation this is), the video had a third less run time, it would have been fabulous, and the video generated saying that it was being reviewed, it got to 99% and paused for a while and then I got logged out, followed by an email to say sorry to see you go, followed by another email to say that I was banned from the platform. The two successful videos that I created which I spent hundreds of $/£ on the assets, I can no longer access those now either. So they have taken my subscription money on Friday, I upgraded to a larger package at the weekend because it said I had run out of video minutes, it kept telling me that it violated their rules for political content and for critising the government because I mentioned Brexit, which is absolutely nonsense, but I worked with their support staff to try to remedy what they advised was causing my video to be rejected. It was just a video to say that post Brexit, we are launching back into the EU, this exciting experience using what looked like a fab platform has been the biggest disappointment and such a waste of time and money, with a platform that is policing every word in your script and telling you that you have violated things that you have not done. They told me to create a personal avatar, which I did to overcome the issue, so it was not their avatar talking, but that came up with the same violation message. What I have not mentioned so far, is that when I was editing the video, during the editing process to see how their avatar and visuals worked together, they accepted my video successfully around 10 times, it was only on the final edit were I cut out content to reduce the video run time, because it was too long, then the 'manual review' message came up and then the continual rejection process started and wasting vast amounts of my time trying to remedy the problem with their team, but to no avail. One of the first issues that came up prior to this, I made the mistake of having their AI presenter saying 'it gives me pleasure to welcome you to our Company' and I was told that I am not allowed to use their Avatar assets as though they are a presenter who is part of our Company. Whoever created Synthesia is a genius, whoever put all the violation rules in that is over Policing every word, making false accusations that leads to video rejections and violation messages is likely going to destroy the platform or create a bad reputation. I own my own business, I turned to this to save time and it has ended up being the biggest waste of time and money. To make matters even worse, it does not look like I can get my money back which I paid for the subscription and the upgrade in the last 6 days.

My experience could not have been worse.
From the start, I didn’t receive a clear answer on how to cancel my account. I created my first video — all content was correct — yet it was rejected without any valid explanation. Even worse, after asking for the original text, I lost access to my own video that was purely about our software.

Support only sent me useless links, while:
A) There was absolutely nothing incorrect in our video.
B) I simply wanted to retrieve my original text.

Because of this poor service and lack of transparency, we decided to stop after less than a day and move on to another solution.

The content was interesting and relevant to me. Meanwhile the host was just fantastic—personable, engaging, and knowledgeable. I wish I'd had trainers half as good.

Great information on what to do, how to do it and where to find additional help. Facilitator was professional and friendly with a lot of information.

Synthesia is an amazing AI tool. Intuitive, easy to use, and delivering professional results. Glad I am using it:)
