Extortion/Blackmail/Scam

This account of events is completely accurate & true, with witnesses and internet history to back it all up

I'm considering involving Police given the seriousness of this matter against an extremely vulnerable disabled person

Extortion/Blackmail email received from this company's OFFICIAL email address

crhistophersherry
@
crhistophersherry.

syntonixbiofarm

.com

It's entirely possible that this company is a front for illegal and fraudulent activities

The sender claims they have a video of me, taken from my device camera, watching some kind of unorthodox/illegal porn, they advise that if I don't pay their ransom then they will forwarding this non-existent video to all my email contacts, the sender also failed to show any proof of the video's existence within their generic statement, but they did provide a link for immediate payment via Bitcoin

The email includes my pseudonym (I seldom give real details for security reasons) and an address that I've never used and have never lived at, the email is addressed to my alternative email that I have never used for any pornographic purposes

I have a number of witnesses who can confirm the email contents, as we all repeatedly read the extortion demand yesterday and discussed it at length throughout the day/evening, the email initially arrived at 2.42pm on 21st Jan 2023, but im not sure when the email mysteriously disappeared

I copied the email address, when I googled it, it was repeated identified as the same company syntonixbiofarm, the websites claim this company manufacturers medicines in India

Yesterday I ran various different malware, spyware etc scans and removal via paid services, I already have extensive device security and VPN, yet nothing was found

Today, with a clearer mind, I went to take screenshot evidence of the extortion to pass to Police, however the email has mysteriously disappeared without leaving any trace, I also changed my email password immediately

Google advises;

"A self-destruct email is an email that disappears and becomes unreadable after either a certain amount of time has passed, or when the sender requests it"

If you receive a similar email from this company;

DON'T PAY

Pease take the opportunity to discuss any extortion/blackmail demands with friends and/or relatives, people are much more understanding than we realise, we're all human after all

If needed, you can send out a bulk email to all your contacts advising of the extortion attempt and to advise your contacts to block and/or report the email address

These scammers are banking on the victim remaining silent to avoid detection and continue to blackmail more victims

You can report scams in various ways online if you wish to

Stay safe!!!
