On the sales call

On the sales call, they started asking detailed questions about how we bill, what we charge, and how our pricing is structured. I pushed back and asked why that information was necessary just to provide a demo. It didn’t make sense, and it felt inappropriate to share that level of detail at that stage.

Based on that experience, I ended the call and decided to move forward with a different solution.

Had a problem with Clientjoy, Synup helped resolve it.

Had an issue with ClientJoy after Synup took over. Some functionality stopped working and support seemed to vanish, which was frustrating since I still had a paid subscription running.

I opened a support ticket (#93645), and to Synup’s credit they did step in and resolve the problem. I appreciate that they took the time to fix things and get it back on track.

Extremely Poor Experience

Extremely Poor Experience – Continued Billing After Cancellation
We engaged Synup strictly for their third‑party directory listing support as part of a larger SEO offering for our customers. We did not use any of their other services. At the time, it seemed cheaper to trial their software to get mass directory listings. This was a trial, and this was disclosed at the point of registration, as evidenced by our email thread and our recorded onboarding calls (we have these recordings through Fireflies).

Unfortunately, the service itself was marginal at best. After a few months, we decided to cancel prior to renewal. There is no way to cancel on their website. Instead, we followed the instructions given and emailed our sales rep to cancel.

On March 17, 2025, we sent a written cancellation notice by email to Lionel Taylor (Partner Sales Manager), clearly instructing that our service be cancelled before the April 2025 renewal. Despite this clear written cancellation notice, Synup continued to bill our credit card $245 CAD per month for April, May, June, and part of July 2025.

When we followed up, we had to deal with multiple people:

Lionel Taylor (Partner Sales Manager) – original point of contact, received our cancellation notice but apparently did not action it.
Raghavendra Sagari (Director, Success Strategy & Operations) – claimed they would “check the account status.”
Sowmiya Ramanujam (Customer Support Specialist) – confirmed they would cancel but stated they were “not sure” they could arrange a refund because they “weren’t notified earlier” by the sales team.
Even after repeated follow‑ups, including clear documentation that we had notified Synup back on March 17, 2025, Synup continued billing until June 2025. Their own staff acknowledged internally that the account should have been cancelled, yet they dragged their feet on issuing a refund and pushed the blame onto internal miscommunication between their sales and support teams.

Caveat for anyone considering Synup:
There is no self‑service cancel option in their dashboard.
You are fully dependent on their internal communication between sales and support, and if they drop the ball, you pay for their mistakes.
They had multiple opportunities to make this right and failed to do so.

We should have read more reviews before signing up. In our experience, Synup’s handling of cancellations is unacceptable and borders on predatory. Avoid this company.

Been using their services for almost 2…

Been using their services for almost 2 years and am satisfied with them. The platform overall is fairly simple to use and some of the new features they have added over the past few months have been really useful.

I canceled my subscription several…

I canceled my subscription several months ago and they still send me emails saying I owe money. I called 30 times before someone answered the phone. He said he would take care of it and call or email back within 15 minutes. I got nothing. I paid per year and canceled membership before it renewed. This company doesn't care about people. Stay away!

Unfair Charges and Poor Customer Service

I had a very disappointing experience with Synup. After using their services for the first quarter of 2024, I realized they weren't necessary for my business needs and canceled my subscription via email in April with Rakesh.

To my surprise, I received a charge of $800 in August, four months after canceling my subscription. When I contacted Synup to request a refund, they refused, claiming that I was still under contract. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering that I had explicitly canceled my subscription.

Given that Synup is based in India, it seems they are aware that pursuing legal action would be difficult. I would strongly advise against using their services. I recommend exploring more reputable alternatives like Semrush Local.

Excellent Services!

My experience with Synup is so far very good. Synup has completely changed the way I manage my business’s online presence. As a business owner, it’s crucial to maintain accurate and consistent information across different directories, and Synup excels in simplifying this process. Their review management system is excellent and has helped me keep track of my online reputation. Synup’s AI-assisted marketing and real-time SEO management capabilities have been a game-changer for my business. It’s easy to use, even if you’re not super tech-savvy. I also appreciate their customer service team, who are always available to answer any questions I have. Now I can see how my business is doing online and what customers are up to. It helps me make smarter choices for my digital marketing. Synup also saves time by syncing information across many platforms at once. My business shows up better in search results now, thanks to the consistent and accurate details from Synup. Only downside is, it’s little too expensive and might not be budget friendly for all businesses. Overall, Synup is a fantastic tool that has made my life as a business owner much easier.

Absolute Scam

Absolute Scam. Modestly useful changing some sites' contact information. I paid them for a couple of years. When I went to cancel, there was no way to actually contact the site and no number to call. I finally started to respond to the company's invoice emails by telling them I no longer needed the subscription. 6 months later, a collections agency (Williams Babbitt and Wiseman from Florida) called my cell (not my office) and, after half a dozen calls to me, finally revealed they were seeking money I "owed." I sent both emails to the agency, the representative (?lawyer? other) Debbie Anderson (at 1-561-953-4511 in case you are a former Synup customer and wanted a head's up) said "OK, that is all I needed." Six weeks later, the calls have started up again. Synup was hoping I would give up trying to cancel my subscription and keep paying it for the next 10 years. LOL. Fraudulent overseas operation.
