Lied about my returned dress...I lost over $500
This is a saga. To start with, I love their dresses and have several in my closet. I decided that, for my son's wedding, rather than buy from Nordstrom, I would order directly from the company, which had more selection. I called to confirm that if I ordered 3 dresses and returned 2 (pretty standard for online formal dress ordering) I would be okay. They said yes. I received the 3, picked one, and returned the other 2- in original packaging, pristine condition- less than a week after receiving them. The return was confirmed a little over a week later. Then the trouble started. Almost 3 weeks and no refund posted...then I received an email saying that I had altered one of the dresses (I had not) and that they were sending it back to me. No mention of the second dress that I had returned. Called and emailed repeatedly and got no answer. Finally, after 2 days, I received an email saying they stood by their decision. I suggested that they had mixed up orders, asked about the other dress and why they hadn't mentioned it in the email. I got a subsequent email confirming a refund for the other dress, which was a relief, but I am still out over $500 for the dress they said I altered. They asserted that the paperwork stays with the dresses; they couldn't have gotten it mixed up. It was all beyond frustrating. I finally got the returned dress that they said was altered: it was altered, but it was not the dress I returned to them. This dress is way too short for me to wear. I have taken this issue to the CA attorney general as well as the Better Business Bureau. Tadashi Shoji refuses to admit their mistake. Horrific customer service and dishonest company.
