My boy Chief, Bernese Mountain Dog, has a sensitive tummy and joint problems, we switched him on to Tails a year and haven't looked back! He loves the food, it's delicate on his tummy and has added supplements for his bad hips... win win all round!

I have a Olde English Bulldog that was previously on 'weinwrights' for several months, there was no change in stools. They were always runny and going upto 5 times a day! From changing to tails tailor made food, I was able to keep her on hypoallergenic feed along with added benifits for joint care with other options if needed. From then her stools are normal, not going as often and absolutely loves the feed. I also queried the amount of salt in her diet which is 0.64% of her recipe.

I have been using this company since 2017, mainly because one of my dogs has a very sensitive stomach. We have struggled for a very long time to find some food that suits her. I decided to try tails.com as you can tailor the food to suit your dog - I chose, elderly, not very active, sensitive stomach and joint problems. What a transformation! NO stomach problems whatsoever since starting on it. And she loves it! So does my other dog but she has since developed kidney problems and cannot eat it, unfortunately, as it is not suitable, much to her disgust, I might add!

Changes to your order on the website could be better organised as I have to phone them or pause my order periodically but I've still given 5 stars because it's the food that has to take priority and that is first class.

Stumbled across tails.com through a social media advert and wished I'd discovered them sooner.
A few simple questions about my dog Bella and they'd formulated a recipe which was delivered on a date convenient to me and which Bella absolutely loves and which has helped her to lose a little weight and ease her joint pain.
I have no hesitation in recommending tails.com to all dog lovers!

My rescue Boxer Eva, is 8.5 years old now and has various aliments. Bouts of pancreatitis, joint issues and she has a VERY sensitive tummy. Since starting on Tails.com, she has lost weight, has had no pancreatitis and her poop (sorry) is completely normal. She loves the kibble too and always wolfs it down and licks her bowl clean.
Having it delivered is great and you can swap delivery dates too, if food is getting low or you have surplus.
I can highly recommend.

Duke, our new rescue, is maintaining a healthy weight & his stomach is more settled & Missy, our thirteen year old girl is steadily losing her excess weight on a weight loss plan & also benefiting from the joint supplements in her blend.

Really happy with Tails. It takes the stress out of ordering their food on time & all portions are calculated with their personalised scoops so portion control is easy too.

I have 3dogs all different ages with different health needs .Use wet and dry food so delivery was 3different bags of dry food and 6 boxes of wet food at different weights.A little complicated ,this is not tails fault as each food is “tailor made”. This was only the free trial so 18 days worth of food. The expense would have been over a hundred and twenty pounds fora months supply for all 3 dogs.Too expensive .Having said that they all loved it, but I did say that two of my dogs were overweight and they seemed to have more food than I normally would feed them and more calories in than my oldest really overweight dog would normally have (she has Cushings disease ,so it a bit of a pig and joint problems).No option to put this in diseases .But I cannot comment on weight gain or loss with this food as they have only had the trial and then I cancelled. Overall good service but too expensive ,going back to cooking my own and adding in the additives each dog needs and calories. complicated and time consuming at first but much cheaper in the long run .If I had only one dog I might have carried on using them.For convenience.Seems a good service.Website can take you round in circles.

Tails has provided food for our four and a half month old Sprocker puppy and our eight year old Lurcher X. Both have specific dietary needs that the hypoallergenic recipe seems to solve!

The only issue I have experienced with Tails (and the one thing that prevents this from being a five star review) is that we recently moved on a houseboat. I have sent several emails confirming that I a) have a joint account with my partner that I have recently opened so the bank details would no longer work but b) I wanted to place the orders on hold until we had worked out whether we would get the food delivered to work. Both dogs have plenty left and we have plenty of time. I didn't receive a response and repeated charge attempts were made to my card.

Eventually it cancelled itself- which resolves matters- but it was tricky getting a hold of someone to freeze the account or assess options. Overall, I would use the service again, I intend to once we are more settled.

Luna has taken to her joint-health tailored food well.
Her weight is well controlled with the measured feeds.

I decided to try tails.com for my elderly sick dog as they catered to some of her health issues, at the time of change she had very little energy and could only manage 2 or 3 short walks a week. She also had joint issues and skin issues due to prolonged steroids. Within weeks of changing to tails.com my dogs energy levels increased and her joints and skin improved too. She is now not only loving her meals but asking me to take her for walks. We now go every day and she is bounding about like a puppy. I am super impressed with tails.com and have recommended it to loads of people :)

My dog has been on tailored dry food with added joint supplment pproximately three months and has taken well to this food. It lasts ages and is good value. Since I started feeding 16 year old Lucy with her tailor-made Tails mix she has had a new lease of life! Her digestion , joint and skin problems have become less bothersome and she enjoys her short walks more. She was having regular tummy upsets before when she was on wet food but in the 3 months that she's been on her dry mix she hasn't had any problems. I thoroughly recommend Tails.com to any dog owner. Try it, you and your pet won't be disappointed!
The service is excellent and very convenient, it's easy to change your order at any time, and it's great value for money.

This has honestly changed my dog's life. I have a chocolate labrador and she is now over 10 years old. I was told by the vet a year ago that she needed to loose 5 kilos. With the specially tailored food and measure cup provided she has achieved. Her back leg/joint which would play up every so often and cause her discomfort trouble her no more and she bounces around like a puppy again - she is full of life and no one can believe she is the age she is! I tell everyone about tails.com - you are a godsend :)

I started using tails dog food for my 4yr old blue staffy baby. She has skin and joint issues and the team were kind enough to help with her allergies. Since she has been on this food her skin is sooo much better I have recommended tails to many of my friends and I highly recommend them. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I love Tails and so do my dogs! I have two dogs, different breeds with very different needs. One who is young, active and a very fussy eater, and the other older, less active that is prove to skin & joint issues.

Previously, choosing their food was a nightmare. Having to change constantly because one dog didn't like it or it caused the other to itch- not to mention trying to figure out how much they should be eating daily.

So happy to have found Tails! Reasonably priced food that is delivered directly to the door (no more wrestling giant bags of food round the shops!) and most importantly food that is tailor made to my each of the dogs idividual needs. They love the taste too!

Tails is excellent to ensure your dog gets all their nutritional needs. My dog has improved so much since I started feeding it to him! When I got him,he had problems with his skin,hair loss,joint problems,and he was slightly overweight. He now no longer has skin problems,his coat is shiny and healthy,his joints have improved so much that he’s like a puppy,and he’s lost weight. I recommend all dog owners use Tails to feed their dogs.

I can honestly say that this is the best food I have tried for my Chocolate lab and believe me I've tried many!
He suffers a sensitive stomach and can be hyperactive with food that has too many additives plus as with all labs prone to weight gain which can lead to joint problems.
Since feeding him his tails mix we haven't looked back. We have a happy,healthy 9 year old puppy!

My Rottie has been on this food since March! He has the joint supp added to the dry food!
He loves the food & he has been sound ever since I changed him onto it!

My dog is 14yrs old and he has been on tails food for over 3yrs now. He has a sentive tummy and hip problems. Tails food has been wonderful at controlling his stomach problems and aided him in losing and maintaining a healthy weight. The balance of food has helped his hips and other joint, to look at him most people think he is 7/8 years old not 14. The team help cater for his needs as well as a cheeky treat now and then.

To be honest, I initially rated Tails as 5 Stars when they emailed me prompting for a review back when I had deliveries. I have now cancelled Tails due to the poor quality food it provides compared to the food we used previous (and have gone back to) - Canagan.
Firstly, I have a German Shepherd who has joint issues. Canagan Kibble is large for a large breed dog so he chews the food properly. TAILS by contrast are very small kibble for a large dog and he would scoop up a mouthful and often swallow a lot whole - even with a slow down bowl.
The BIG issue is the quality of food. My dog eats Hypoallergenic food. On Canagan his poop was healthy and twice to three times per day. TAILS increased it to three to four times a day with a slightly looser consistency than the other food. On Canagan, he has silky shiny soft fur and his coat is wonderful with the healthy premium food Canagan. After a few months on Tails, which was £15 a month cheaper than Canagan, his coat became dull and dry. The feel of his fur changed and felt more coarse and drier and his coat lost his shine.
My other half has trained in Dog nutrition and we quickly realised that the TAILS food was of a poor quality - more so than you realise with their advertising campaign etc. The food I do not think is genuinely tailored to each dog either - more of a generic list of options.

Summary:
Tails changed my dogs fur. It lost its shine and changed from being soft and shiny to dull and dry. The quality of the dog food is not that great and the kibble is too small and unsuitable for a large breed dog like a German Shepherd. The Joint care in the food is also negligible and more of a tick box exercise for the company - we had to give our dog joint supplements due to the low levels of joint care.

We changed back to CANAGAN and his fur has come back soft and shiny (everyone during walkies says how good his coat is), his energy levels are appropriate and he gets good joint care.

My personal verdict:
Albeit a lot cheaper than Canagan, we have cancelled Tails and switched back to Canagan for the health benefits and the softer shinier coat etc. I will not switch back to Tails again.

Edit: Tails replied below about contacting them with issues to try and sort it however I had done that some time ago explaining my unique needs for my dog but was told that they could not increase glucosamine or chondroitin levels etc.
