solid service for a fair price

Talkroute gives you exactly what you need. It's reliable, simple to manage, and doesn't feel bloated with features I'II never touch. Also appreciate that they're not constantly trying to upsell me like other platforms.

So much better than using my cell

I was running everything through my personal phone and it got messy fast. With Talkroute, I have a business line, custom voicemail, and can set hours so I’m not getting calls at night. Total game changer for my sanity.

Before purchasing talk route I talked…

Before purchasing talk route I talked with them and was told I could use a desk phone. After my number gets ported they tell me no you cannot . So I told them since it is there mistake I want a refund and had my number ported back out to a company that you can use a desk phone. And now they refuse a refund. Because there policy is no refunds. They are a joke stay away.

the only reason it was used, because i had to port my number back out after you gave me miss information. otherwise i would of canceled right away.

We’re sorry to hear you’re frustrated, but we’d like to clarify a few important points for accuracy.

Talkroute is an app first communications platform designed to be used via our desktop and mobile apps. We do not advertise or claim support for traditional desk phones anywhere on our website or documentation.
We reviewed all pre purchase conversations related to this account including email and chat transcripts and at no point was desk phone compatibility stated or promised by our team.

After activating service the account was actively used for nearly a month including both calling and text messaging through our apps. While we do not offer unconditional refunds we do consider refund requests within a short grace period after signup. This account was well beyond that grace period and had substantial usage which is why a refund was not approved.

We always aim to be transparent about what Talkroute does and does not support and we encourage prospective customers to confirm fit before purchasing. While we regret that this experience did not meet expectations we stand by the facts and the decision made in this case.

perfect for my small team

We’ve got 4 people working remotely and Talkroute lets us route calls to whoever’s on that day, no matter where they are. It feels seamless to the caller. Plus the voicemail-to-email feature is a lifesaver. It’s taken a lot of stress off our plate.

support team actually cares

Had a question about setting up my hours and didn’t expect much honestly. But their team got back to me fast, explained it clearly, and stayed on until I was good to go. Way better support than I’m used to.

Not transparent with useless trial period

I need a business phone for licensure issues but will rarely ever use it and I do not have a website established as I don't need one right now though I do own a domain name. I set up free trial but found you can't do anything with it. So I registered the account but to register it they require you to pay. then after you pay if you want to text you have to go through 10DLC compliance. Of course, you have to pay more for that. Then after you pay for that, TalkRoute requires you to have a website with a privacy policy posted on it. this is not a regulatory requirement, just Talkroute's but of course they don't tell you this until after they have charged your account. So now you have to create a website that meets their requirements even though you will never make any outgoing text on your account and only want it because so many people text instead of call. I don't market or spam or reachout to anyone in my business. I know have spent money for a service I don't have and will have to spend more for a website I don't want just so they can con people out of money. It may be a good service if you are just coming in and buying everything they want you to but they should really tell you up front in one web page what they require and how they operate. You know, like they are requiring you to do even though the regulators don't require it.

And read closely at least one of their 5 star reviews is pasted from an earlier one with a differen tuser name

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating this situation can feel, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points.

The requirements you mentioned, including 10DLC registration, business verification, and the need for a public-facing website with a privacy policy, are clearly disclosed upfront on our website and throughout the SMS setup process. These are industry-wide carrier requirements, not Talkroute-specific policies, and they apply to all U.S. business texting providers. We do not have the discretion to waive or bypass them, even for low-volume or non-marketing use cases.

We’d also like to clarify that 10DLC SMS registration is optional. Registration is not required to receive incoming text messages, and you may still send outgoing messages without it; however, message delivery cannot be guaranteed without completing 10DLC registration. Customers who only need a business phone number for voice calls are not required to activate text messaging or complete 10DLC registration, or maintain a website.

That said, we recognize that these requirements can feel excessive when you don’t plan to actively text or market, and we understand how that can be disappointing. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible so customers can decide whether SMS is the right fit before proceeding.

If you’d like help reviewing your account or determining the best setup for your specific needs, our support team is always happy to assist.

My experience with Talkroute was very…

My experience with Talkroute was very disappointing. During the free trial period, I was not able to make a single call despite trying multiple configurations and troubleshooting steps. After testing the service for 3 days with no success, I decided to cancel. However, to my surprise, they still charged me the full amount.

This company feels like a scam — they advertise a 7-day free trial, but in reality, you're charged regardless. Be warned: once you register an account, you’ll be billed even if you never manage to use the service. The "free trial" is misleading and completely useless.

Talkroute currently provides service exclusively within the United States and Canada. In this case, the customer attempted to sign up for a free trial from a country outside of our supported regions, resulting in the trial account being denied and subsequently closed.

The customer then attempted to bypass our system by using suspicious U.S. billing information to activate a paid account. This account was also identified and closed in accordance with our security policies.

Talkroute offers a 7-day free trial to all businesses located in the U.S. and Canada, with no charges incurred during the trial unless the customer chooses to convert to a paid plan before the trial period ends. Unfortunately, this review does not reflect an accurate experience of our trial program.

Highly recommend Talkroute!

We have had Talkroute for over 3 years and I could not be happier with the service and support. It is a cost effective way for a small business to have team members working remotely and to effectively manage calls. The few times we've had technical issues, their team has been wonderful to work with, and they fix things quickly.
