They don"t care about the customer experience

I like the service. You can take charge of your healthcare. Reg insurance is way more expensive and doesn't cover anything until you are a couple grand out of pocket. What I don't like are the people who you have to deal with. They are not focused on you. For example, every time you want an appt they ask you to list out all your meds even though that info is in your record. Same with pharmacy. They ask for name and address every time instead of just checking your record. What prompted this review is my request for an ent for a chronic sinus infection. The dr noted I need an ent if the meds didn't work. So I requested an ent. They set me up with the same dr who could do nothing but say I need an ent. Their lazy customer service claims I didn"t ask for an ent. They had the nerve to "thank me for understanding" that they would not be accountable for their f-up. Their system needs a lot of work and customer service training.

This is more like a GPT Chat Medical…

This is more like a GPT Chat Medical service which finds nearest doctors and gets you a 20% discount. I went to 1 doctor and paid $120 and then used Mira and paid 100. This is not health care coverage it is discounted out of pocket brokered medical services. Seems a bit sketchy so cancelled 1 month in. Let's see where it goes.

Mira will not let you cancel

Mira will not let you cancel, it seems, until 6 months or a year have passed. I told them to cancel this before the next year was due. They make you leap thru so many hoops I thought I was in a circus. You can't send them an email. If you try to contact them, they make you answer questions in a form multiple choice, even if none of the answers match your problem.
What is so damn difficult? Just cancel it. I never used any services.
Update: after exhuasting, frustrating efforts, Mira has finally cancelled my account.

Mira is not a viable healthcare service.

Mira sounded like a good solution to get basic healthcare for straightforward conditions. While I was able to have blood work done affordably, when I attempted to schedule an appointment to address a health issue, it sort of turned into a dystopian nightmare. I won't go into all the details, but basically, Mira partners with WalMart Health for virtual primary care. I attempted scheduling two appointments on their website. For the first one, WalMart called me five minutes before the scheduled appointment to say the appointment wasn't available and to schedule another one. I scheduled another one and it was never confirmed. In between, I made eight calls to WalMart attempting to get help scheduling these appointments because the provider I selected was not in my time zone and it was both difficult to find a time to schedule an appointment and it wasn't clear on their website whether the appointments were listed in eastern or pacific time. Mira coordinators also tried reaching out to WalMart to get them to follow up with me, and they did not, but told Mira coordinators that they did (I sent screen shots to Mira proving they hadn't called me). This all took place over the course of about two weeks. Eventually Mira offered me a refund for the unused months of the subscription, and they referred me to another service called Paloma. I won't be surprised if I find out that Paloma is owned by the same private equity firm that Mira is, but I'm going to try it anyway.
I do not recommend using Mira. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that they offered a refund instead of making me beg for it. But Mira needs to work with legitimate healthcare providers instead of collecting money and sending members to other services that don't work.

Additionally, I learned later that Mira had charged me twice for a three month subscription, and I am in the process of trying to get the duplicate charge resolved. My attempt to use Mira has resulted in a tremendous amount of lost time.

DECEPTIVE AND SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE

DECEPTIVE AND SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE - I signed up for a 3 month plan, Never did i sign up for anything beyond a 3 month plan, nor did they inform me that there was a montly plan option. After the 3 months, i assumed the membership canceled, but Mira started taking $45 dollars from my account monthly. I did not catch it until 3 months in. I asked for a refund of that money and they declined saying it is in their terms and conditions. - Very very shady and deceptive business practice. As i assumed it canceled after the 3 months, I did not attempt to use their service after the 3 months because i assumed I would need to renew it if needed. Mira texts you for everything, repeatedly, yet i never recieved a text warning me that my subscription would become monthly - SHAME ON MIRA!

This is a review for my experience with…

This is a review for my experience with TalktoMira in June 2023. I am a writer who just got laid off from Business Insider and there is a huge fight going on with the union. I couldn't find anything available for less than hundreds of dollars a month. The products avaialble on the exchange were a joke. I signed up for Mira didn't expect much and to my suprirse, it provided me more than my "company sponsored" insurance ever did.

Easy to use

Easy to use and really cheap compared to any other obamacare plans out there. Doesn't cover everything but pretty much everything i need for now.

Because of my disease

Because of my disease, i need to get lab test almost every week and the even with my insurance the out of pocket was about $250 EACH! That's $1k a month. i spoke to Kathy at Mira and found out they offer to apply Mira rates to outside lab orders, it went down to about 20-30 bucks. i am a happy camper and a Mira lifer.

Big time scam!

Big time scam. While this may work for normal prescriptions, if you want any sort of mental health help, though they say they can provide it, they can’t and won’t! Even if you have a previous prescription through a PCP, their PCP’s “can’t” do mental health related prescriptions. Then it’s a back and forth attempt to get anything scheduled, only to find out that you have to pay for monthly psychiatric and therapy for them to prescribe you anything (which equals $$$$ that you aren’t told about). I decided this wasn’t the company for me after never being able to use their services, chalked it up to a loss, and moved on. I found a service that actually did what they were supposed to, and got myself my meds I needed. Three months later I have a new charge on my bank, they charged me to renew my membership. After going back and forth emailing with their “customer care” team, I was given the run around. I had to ask directly 4 TIMES “will I receive a refund for this charge I did not authorize?” Before finally being told no. They kept trying to get me to fill out their cancellation form where you have to agree to a refund and cancellation policy that you have never agreed to that let’s them keep your money for the auto-renewal that you didn’t authorize. Total, scam. Avoid entirely!

When I was contacted by a…

When I was contacted by a representative advertising their services I explained that Mira was not less expensive than paying out of pocket for the recuring medical expenses I had. They disagreed and said I could save money on the prescriptions I needed, and they even verified that their Virtual Primary Care providers could prescribe my specific medications. Well after I paid they then informed me that their Virtual Primary Care can't prescribe the pills that they themselves had 'verified' they could. I'd have to use their Virtual Psychiatrist option which is even more expensive than paying out of pocket to see my GP. They lied to me to get me to sign up, and then refused to refund the money I spent despite not being able to provide the services they had 'verified' they could. Also, their website is really janky, poorly designed, and unresponsive. Very fly-by-night. Buyer-beware

Scam telehealth operation

Scam telehealth operation. The site claims to provide access to telehealth via a monthly payment of approx $45/- per month. After having paid the 3 month initial fees, it was just impossible to get an appointment for my husband. After going back and forth and 15 emails later, I realized that this is a online scam.

The phone number listed on the company website always going to a auto-generated voice message and there is no person that one could speak to, ever. The messages would use circular logic pointing to something else or some other organization but not take the onus to deliver on their claims - for which they are paid for.
