Problematic and irresponsible technician team

The technician team activated my service at the wrong actress (similar actress with mine) which caused unwanted disconnection to that actress and I got no connection. I just knew that happened when I got complaint by the owner that actress. Their mistake lead to terrible inconvenience to me and other ones but when I called them to enquire, the technician declined it, and said that they didn’t activate the service while I already received the sms showed that my service are activated?! The technician also lost her temper and tried her best to deny the responsibility and didn’t apologise.
They are also confusing when don’t give me any information about my account or anything. They just send me few sms while I request for contacting through email.
The whole experience with Tangerine was horrible and regretful cause they caused problem not only for me but also other people.

Inappropriate customer service team

Inappropriate customer service teamFor this review to not be a long rant, here are the main reasons why Tangerine customer service acts in not only inappropriate ways, but also with contempt and dislike to their customers:
- Tangerine customer service regularly hangs up on you mid-call (they do not call back).
- Tangerine customer service regularly disconnected your chat.
- Tangerine customer service will ignore issues with your internet connection when you call for help.
- Tangerine customer service employees have sighed loudly into the microphone when I have asked questions.
- the service that Tangerine provides will drop out regularly (we have now changed provider and no dropouts have occurred since we left Tangerine. However, Tangerine employees told us that the dropouts were due to our line).
- after waiting in line to talk to a Tangerine customer service for more than an hour, an employee sighed loudly when I apologised for my baby crying. This was with my 12-week-old baby who had woken up. I had the customer support on hands-free and had gone to pick up my bub, who quickly went quiet when he was held. The employee asked if I could wait to get Bub and to please pay more attention to the re-setting up of the internet (important to notice: leaving my computer, going to bubs room and picking up Bub from the cot took less than 2 minutes, I then returned to the computer with bub on my lap, who quietly enjoyed a cuddle).
- repeated closing of open complaints cases without fixing the original reason for the complaint (I have just had to make a new complaint due to them closing my last one around an outstanding bill, please see below for the main issue).
Main issue:
Tangerine customer service in the end stated we HAVE to buy their modem to resolve the ongoing internet issues. We refused, and they stated they would let us borrow one of theirs to see if it solved the issue. I never connected it, just said I did. And the problem went away.

I resigned from my services with them after this. I called and confirmed all payments were put through and how to deliver back the modem and they stated they did not want it back. 3 months later I am getting harassing phone (more than 20 calls to date) calls from Tangerine following up an unpaid bill (yep, the modem). I stated I was happy to return the modem (I kept it just in case, in prime condition, with the box, and vires. All unused) but I needed a return address. I sent the modem back the following working day.

The harassing phone calls won't stop! There are sometimes four calls a day, each new Tangerine employee stating I have an unpaid bill relating to the modem. I checked Aus post, the modem was delivered more than a week ago.

I have also received emails from Tangerine that have threatening undertones.

Disclaimer: I have never acted aggressively towards Tangerine customer service, but in the future when I will receive these calls I will ask them to please leave me alone and just please lose my number.

I have never not paid my bills and I have attempted multiple times to resolve this issue directly with Tangerine. I find it horrifying that they are willing to harass their customers and make a new mother feel like they can't go and pick up their crying baby.

If I get a future nemesis I will sign them up for Tangerine's services and know that they will have to suffer with Tangerine's inadequate, rude, poor and harassing services from staff members who are clearly following a pre-made script and have no understanding of customer service or politeness. Not to mention an internet speed and connection equal to that of a rural Australian desert.

Thank you for reading this and I hope you do not pick Tangerine.

Update: Once I made this review I was promptly called again by Tangerine customer service (this time Nico) acknowledging that I had sent the parcel but they could not find it. They politely stated they would "waive" the fee off my account as if this was a kindness they were providing (remember, I have delivered back the item they wanted money for). When I mentioned this, they asked for the receipt from AUS POST, which I have.

Tangerine stated they would do me the kindness of not calling me again.

Thank you for reading this and I still hope you do not pick Tangerine.

Stay clear from Tangerine

I am extremely disappointed with Tangerine Internet. Our internet intermittently drops out for no apparent reason, causing constant frustration. After the initial 6-month discount package, they increased their fees to a hefty $80 per month. At that price, you’re far better off paying a little extra for reputable service providers like Aussie Broadband.

Over the past 6 months, there have been multiple planned NBN outages, and Tangerine never notified us in advance. We only found out the morning of the outages as the Internet was not working, which caused significant inconvenience. For example, we had to scramble to book our dog into daycare and ended up arriving late to the office.

Overall, the service has been unreliable and the customer experience has been poor. I would not recommend Tangerine Internet to anyone. Not to mention the issues experienced relocating twice over the years. Save yourself the headache and go with a better provider.

These guys are horrible

These guys are horrible. Reception is bad, customer service is a 0 and because it’s a new company, when they give you your new number, a lot of websites, companies, banks etc won’t recognise that new number because it’s not registered yet. I had so much trouble signing up or paying for things because my number wasn’t registered in the system yet. Also once I left the Australia to go overseas they kept on charging me even though I told them I would pay monthly. It’s actually quite ridiculous how bad this provider is. Do you yourself a favour and never sign up with Tangerine

Worst service and customer service!

Worst service and customer service ever!
Asked to cancel my prepaid subscription before the due date as I transferred my number to a different mob network but they charged me anyway!!!
And the customer service tried to excuse the action because I cancelled 4 days before the due date and “as per policy they can charge you an extra month” even if the service is a PRE PAID service!!!! Just ridiculous and unlawful!!!

Poor Connectivity - Even worst Customer Service

I had connectivity issues with Tangerine which caused daily drop-outs and loss of connection on a regular basis. I was promised a refund for the days my connection was lost but they never applied this to my bills.

Once I had had enough of the poor service with Tangerine I changed providers. On my exit I queried why they had not refunded the credits. They then advised me that it was too late and they could not refund the money they had promised for their poor connectivity.

I was just happy to get out from the company so I left knowing I would not return. They then had the audacity to keep charging my account after I had cancelled my connection. I contacted them about this issue and queried how they could keep charging me but not refund their promise from months ago about refunding for lost connectivity which they said there was nothing they could do...

I have not complained previously but their terrible internet service and poor customer care have forced me to post a review as a warning for anyone considering them as a provider. BEWARE do not use Tangerine...

Just try to cancel your service and see…

When trying to cancel your service with this company they make it very hard. Instead of cancelling as per my request they continued to bill me and now saying that it is my issue.

Inefficient, incompetent, clueless

The website says how quick and efficient Tangerine are, the reality is the opposite. It took three weeks for a modem to arrive and they say its plug and go. It isn't. I'm now on my 18th call to these jokers! They say connection will be within 24 hours. It isn't. They say they will escalate. They don't. Customer service just don't have a clue and commit to things that just don't happen, I have absolutely no confidence in anything they say and still await connection.

Unresolved account problem

Following the February 24 data breach, I requested a change of account number.
This marked the start of a series of issues including having two accounts instead of one;
The inability to view services in my online account; inability to purchase international data roaming pack when required.
Customer service ( always very polite and courteous) to date, has been unable to resolve the issue despite several phone calls.
Tangerine telecom may offer good pricing, however, the ongoing account and customer data breach issue has dented my enthusiasm for the telco and could see me move to another provider.

Terrible Customer Service

When this company decided to rise their monthly NBN price, I decided to find a cheaper alternative. When I changed provider, this company said I owed $5 due to a late payment fee. I thought, this does not sound fair but I do not want to owe money so I paid it to settle it. Now every month since then, I get a payment failed email saying I still owe $5. Even though I spoke to customer support to inform them how annoying this is, they have still failed to cancel this account and I just received yet another monthly email where they are trying to say a payment has failed and I still owe $5. Therefore, they get a 1 star review as this is just frustrating and annoying.

Billing cycle issue and bad customer service

Signed up with Tangerine Telecom as spend time between UK and Australia and needed a month to month provider. Recently had a month back in Australia, but ended up being charged over what I should have been as my cancellation fell outside of their ridiculous billing cycles. It makes no sense as you end up being overcharged each time you cancel, so will be why I never use them again until they resolve this issue.

Internet works, customer service not so much ...

Fairly disappointing! I was a customer for a few years, missed the cancellation deadline by 10hrs, and they charged me a full extra month. Very out of touch for a company priding itself on customer service and in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

I am extremely disappointed with…

I am extremely disappointed with Tangerine’s handling of my issue regarding unauthorized direct debit charges. Despite canceling their service three months ago and contacting them multiple times, I’m still being charged.

Today, I called at 10:05 AM on June 27, 2024, and spoke to an agent named Neven. When I explained my complaint, Neven responded with, "I don't care if you get charged." This blatant disregard for customer concerns is unacceptable.

I asked for a manager to call me back within 10 minutes, but it has now been over 30 minutes with no response. This experience has shown me that Tangerine doesn’t care about their customers, and their employees' attitudes are pathetic.

If any manager sees this, please review the call made on June 27, 2024, at 10:05 AM. Immediate action needs to be taken to stop the unauthorized charges and address the poor customer service. I am posting here because I don't think any manager will ever call me back!

Happy customer

I switched to Tangerine in October 2023 after a lengthy and unhappy Fixed Wireless NBN experience from my previous provider with consistently low download speeds (ranging between 8Mbps up to 25Mbps on a 50 plan), with multiple daily dropouts/outages and an unhelpful call centre who couldn't or wouldn't resolve the issues.

Immediately after connecting to Tangerine (using the same hardware) all the issues miraculously disappeared. Since then Tangerine's provided us with a fast and reliable service on their Fixed Wireless Plus 75/10 Plan. Around April/May 2024 the NBN completed upgrades to the Fixed Wireless service in my area to achieve 100/20, which involved some planned outages. Tangerine's communications and information made it easy for me to check the NBN outage status myself and to reboot the system to the upgraded service. The download speed at peak times has been just under 90Mbps 👏

Terrible service and company

Terrible service and company. They leaked my data in February and now four months later they still can't tell me what's being done to protect me after I found my username/password and other details for sale on the dark web and yes, it's linked to the Tangerine data leak.

Tangerine internationsl travel pack not covering Alaska

Hi,
I have had tangerine mobile for a couple of years now and local service fine
The trouble comes from their travel pack .
First problem 4 months ago - arrived USA -their travel pack had not been set up properly - no service for first 24 hours and fixed after numerous phone calls.
The latest is that i am in Alaska on a separate trip - with a travel pack - it worked in Seattle but not in Alaska - I am there for 2 weeks - hence the purchase of their pack . No service at all . Tangerine checked their end - works fine they say - suggested i buy a local sim.
I have reset my iphone to no effect .
I am just wondering whether when Tangerine says unequivocally that USA is covered , it does not mean Alaska is included .

Avoid this company at all cost!
A bit about my story, I requested a relocation from my previous place to the new place. The website says that there is no relocation charge unless New Development Charges for new NBN applies to you and we WILL LET YOU KNOW upon request that this charge applies, well they didn’t. They did not tell me that this charge will apply to the new place, no pop up, no email , no call and of course I didn’t check it on NBN website and trusted Tangerine website because the place is an apartment in the middle of city, I would never thought that it’s not covered in NBN. Fast forward a month later I was charged 300 on my card, unannounced.
I called them 10 times and the all repeated on thing, that the charge is valid (I don’t know how the charge can be valid when the costumer doesn’t know the charge exists) and the only thing that the can offer me is a month free ($50 instead of $300) I obviously didn’t accept that and said I’ll get my $300 back somehow because this is totally unacceptable. (If anyone knows my legal right I’d be grateful to know and follow this further)
Second story is I woke up today with $112 charge to my bank, apparently they charged me twice for last month (one in the 363 invoice and one in this 112), upon calling them they said their system is down and they will call me in 2 hours (system down for an NBN company, what a JOKE) which they didn’t and I called once more. They said that this happens to ALL RELOCATING COSTUMERS and they CHARGE THEM TWICE the following month. I have screenshots of my chat attached. So if you are a relocating costumer they have charged you twice for that month, if they have 1000 relocating costumers a month it’s an extra 50000 generated and god knows how many people not even notice this! Definitely an interesting case for ACCC to investigate!
and this was the last strike! I cancelled my subscription today. So avoid this company at all cost, for their terrible support and scamy behaviour

This is the worst company in Australia

This is the worst company in Australia. Tangerine's billing practices are downright deceptive. Despite failing to connect me to their NBN service, they continue to charge me as if I were a customer. It's outrageous and unethical. Steer clear unless you want to pay for nothing.

Took a payment after the service was…

Took a payment after the service was cancelled, having to now stop all payments from my NAB bank account ,will probably close the bank account. Data breach 2 months ago had nothing but hassle since.
This business should be investigated by the authorities, how do they get a licence to operate?
I would never use tangerine again or any subsidiaries or any business connected with these I have zero faith in this business.
