Ghastly customer service from the owner
I booked a rifle shooting experience (worth £78) with Target Sports Romford but the experience was ruined by the rude and inflexible owner, Alan, who also happens to be the unfriendly face at reception.
Due to major transport disruptions (Elizabeth Line issues and traffic), I arrived 15 minutes late after a 2.5-hour journey across London. Despite explaining the situation, Alan showed no understanding or willingness to help, refusing to allow us to go ahead with the experience, reschedule or refund me. He was dismissive, unpleasant, and made it clear he had no interest in customer satisfaction.
It’s a shame he is singlehandedly ruining the customer experience because Sam, the archery instructor, was great—friendly, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, Alan’s attitude made sure I’ll never return. If Sam sees this review: please know YOU personally deserve 5 stars, it’s Alan alone who soured our experience and wasted our time & money.
Their no-late-arrivals policy is buried in the fine print and not mentioned in the confirmation email, which feels intentionally misleading. Most businesses show some level of flexibility for genuine issues, but not here. If you’re delayed for any reason, expect to lose your money and be treated poorly.
I will be warning away all friends, family members, and colleagues from using this place.
Customer service and basic decency go a long way, and unfortunately, this business (Alan in particular) lacks both. Would not recommend.
