Fast and good costumer service

My boyfriend and I got the Dipole 2 DW in August for our 4 months trip to South America. We do multi day hikes and wanted the tent to be lightweight, small in volume and withstand all different kinds of weather. Unfortunately the tent broke after our first night sleeping in it (nothing to do with the tent, but because of a rockslide). There we were, in Peru, a lot of adventures waiting, but a tent with so many holes that just thinking about camping in the rain with it made us shiver. But good thing Tarptent has outstanding costumer service. We quickly ordered a new tent and wrote that the order was very urgent. We didn’t receive a reply, but the next day they already sent the new tent!!! That’s what I’m talking about. We received the tent a week later (because of customs in Peru). We have now used the tent on the Ausangate trek, where it hailed, snowed and were very windy - the tent did not fail us! It’s very roomy for two people as well.
So thank you Tarptent, for firstly making an awesome tent for thru hikes, and secondly, your very good, quick and kind costumer service.

Great Ultralight Tents and Support

Over the years we’ve used two Double Rainbows and one Triple Rainbow and have been very satisfied. When a pole of the Triple Rainbow broke in strong wind, Tarptent quickly sent a replacement plus glue and a perfectly color-matched patch. Excellent service!

Shop around, poor customer service.

I had recently a very negative experience with Tarptent. I purchased a tent recently from Tarptent and paid for expedited shipping and wrote in the note that I needed it ASAP. I also added the extra poles for free standing. This is near the winter, I live in a northern state, and I can only seam seal it myself indoors. So I paid for 3-day shipping which was 30 dollars. In fairness, Tarptent did give an upgrade to two days, however I still paid 30 dollars keep in mind for a fast delivery. I ordered a seam sealer and was ready to seam seal it when it arrived so I could head out with friends. When it arrived, I was instantly disappointed as I set out the tent getting ready to apply the seam seal. Realizing they forgot to pack a freestanding pole... Now I am out the 30 dollars for the fast shipping, and this is not refunded to me even though they are the ones who made the fast shipping worthless because TarpTent forgot to pack a pole. I packed and shipped it back with a required signature as I didn't need any more issues. Another 40 dollars gone. Did I ever get an apology for their mistake? No, only when I fished it out by asking if they seen why I was returning it? The response was a blow-off apology of "We are sorry for your experience." The end. Not one apology for their mistake, or if there is anything they could do. It would of been nice to at least refund the shipping to me since this was THEIR screw up. So I am out now 70 dollars total in shipping, and a waste of time dealing with this company. I would if you are interested in their products, search around for a different company. If this seems like customer service that you would like, and to be out 70 dollars, no apology, no message saying sorry for their mess up, no apology for my time wasted, no apology for 70 dollars gone, no apology for not packing the most critical thing for a tent... 1 of the two poles REQUIRED for freestanding, then sure, go with this company. I certainly would never spend a dime here, nor will I ever advertise for them as a good company. To waste more time to leave a negative review is even more frustrating, but how this company's customer service handled this was 0 out of 10. I ended up buying another tent from a different store, and have been happy. Thank you for the time to read this, I hope you have a great day, and please consider this experience of mine if you are thinking about buying from Tarptent.

Very Rude owner

Very Rude owner, messaged about US to UK shipping to see if they would accommodate a different shipping method. The items were 4 dollars each but postage would have been close to 25. The owner was unhelpful and rude, telling me unless I wanted him to throw it in a bottle and hope it makes it across the Atlantic. Shame, this company has a good following but obviously doesn't care to much about customer service, I would have probably bought some other items to make the shipping worth it if he would have handled it better, would not recommend.

I purchased a StratoSpire Li 2 man tent…

I purchased a StratoSpire Li 2 man tent from the American company Tarptent. The tent took a few weeks to arrive because it was a special order and did incur import taxes because it came from America. But it was well packaged and Tarptent kept me informed of it's progress. They also replied to my e.mail promptly. The tent is very good quality and well made so I can recommend them and will not hesitate ordering from them again.
