I want to share my experience with taskupward, coastal bank
I want to share my experience with TaskUpward (taskupward.pro) in order to warn other freelancers and prevent more people from becoming victims of what appears to be a scam.
The opportunity initially came through an Instagram advertisement. From there, I was redirected to a Telegram chat with someone presenting himself as the "Project Director." TaskUpward.pro presents itself as a platform offering different freelance services, such as language teaching, translation, and other remote work opportunities.
In my case, I selected a translation project: translating a 50-page book from English into Spanish within only three days. When I requested a formal contract before starting the work, they refused to provide one, which immediately raised serious concerns.
I clearly informed them beforehand that I would never deposit my own money in order to complete a job. Despite this, I was repeatedly persuaded to continue, and I decided to complete the task in order to understand how the process worked and identify the fraudulent mechanism.
After delivering the translation, I was shown a supposed payment deposited into a fake banking platform called "Coastal" (coastaltrustingb.online). This website appears to be only a graphical interface displaying a fake balance. When attempting to withdraw the supposed funds, the platform requires users to deposit their own money first, which is a common pattern used in online scams.
This experience resulted in a significant loss of time and effort. These types of operations continuously create new strategies to exploit honest and hardworking people, so exposing them is important to prevent more victims.
I strongly recommend freelancers to be extremely cautious with TaskUpward and any platform that refuses to provide a contract and later requires payments, deposits, or fees to access supposed earnings.
