Don’t fall for Tauranga Boutique

I see that after some quiet time, Tauranga Boutique is advertising aggressively again. I purchased from them some time ago and found the sizing was not true, the quality was poor and they put obstacles in the way of returning the garment. And they have nothing to do with Tauranga, New Zealand. They seem to operate through China. Don’t get sucked in!

Worse than zero

Worse than zero. Lack of service and communication, false advertising, incorrect return policy, shoddy workmanship, overpriced products - all together and costly and stressful experience

Absolutely terrible service

Absolutely terrible service, and the clothing is very poorly made and looks nothing like the website! I had to return my garments because they weren't what was advertised. I was told that I had to pay to send the clothing back to China and request a refund, which cost me $35 in courier fees, and after 6 months the parcel was returned to me with 'gone no address' There is a 90-day money back guarantee on the webiste, which clearly is just a scam. I am now $200 out of pocket, which includes the courier. Very disappointing

Agencies report scammers

No stars!!
I am interested to see that the number of complaints about this so called store has risen to 135. When I first reviewed it in January, 2025 there were 4 others. I always write if I see this on FB that it is a scam to warn others not to buy. In fact, both shops I have fallen into the trap of thinking they were in NZ advertise on FB. I will now never buy from anyone advertising on FB. The other shop is DILA Wellington which has photos of a western shop, a story that 4 friends, all western, Suzie, Amelia and Jane established the shop in Wellington in 2014.

It has now been suggested that I report the fraud to The Ministry of Business and Innovation and the Commerce Commission. I am going to do this but don't have time to do it immediately.

These lowlife criminals need some sort of consequences. Their dishonesty is fraud, cheating, lying and stealing.

As an update; I shared the address I was finally given to return my goods with the promise of a full refund. The postage was $35 and at the time I felt it was worth it to see what happened. About 6 weeks later I received the parcel back "no such address". I didn't receive a refund either. I think the message is that if something even hints of dodgy it probably is.

Rogues/thieves…

I have much the same complaint as others - this outfit of scammers are located in China.
Can Interpol not do anything about it????
They give their address when a refund is requested.
I too got a cheap 'knock-off' and wrong sized dress sent to me.

It's a scam!

It's a scam. Presents as a NZ boutique in Tauranga however there's no such shop. You do receive a garment but it's very different to what you ordered and of very inferior quality. AVOID

Avoid at all costs

If I could give this zero or minus stars I would! My mother ordered a cardigan - came too small with no labels indicating, size, composition or washing instructions. Definitely misleading representation because it did not come from Tauranga. Consumer affairs will be notified. Avoid at all costs
If it’s at all like ‘Melbourne's Finest’ which I got sucked into, then returns are almost as much as ‘value’ of garment (that term is used very lightly) as it needs to be tracked shipping to china.

Scam site

Scam site, DO NOT waste your money. Not located in New Zealand, website is a scam. I ordered 2 cotton blouses, arrived after 4 weeks. Not cotton, instead a very poor quality see through synthetic, covered in black spots, poor printing of material, and unwearable as the sleeves were sewn so I couldn't move my arms.

RED FLAG these are fashion scammers

RED FLAG
Tauranga Boutique are fashion scammers.
90 day money back guarantee???
HASSLE FREE RETURNS???
What your order and what you receive is totally different to their website. The fabric and colour of the jacket did not resemble that on their website. No labels, care and content, threads hanging off, poor construction and basically throw it in the bin disgusting.
Tauranga Boutique, this is their response..."To resolve this quickly and avoid the hassle of return shipping (which can range from $70 to $160 NZD) and potential customs fees of $86 to $172 NZD, we would like to offer you a replacement in another color of your choice. You would only need to pay 30% of the item’s price to cover the shipping cost for the replacement"

They do not abide or comply with NZ Consumers Act of return and refund or replacement unless you spend more money.

I will report them to the NZ Police, NZ Govt for illegal consumer trade and notified the banks to ban them from any transactions.

I regret buying from here

I regret buying from here. The quality isn’t great, and the refund policy is pretty pointless — once you try to return it, you’ll end up paying more in postage than the item is even worth. Save yourself the hassle and avoid it.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

This company is not located in Tauranga New Zealand like many have thought.
Took weeks to receive and the quality of the jacket is disgraceful. No Tauranga Boutique label just an L like what you would get from Temu or SHEIN but at ridiculous price!
Fabric is just cut with not edging.
Wish I had seen the reviews here before I was conned into buying such low a quality Jacket. But hopefully these reviews will help others not to buy from them 🫤

One star is one star too many

One star is one star too many. This company is not in Tauranga, the website is completely misleading and fraudulent. They drop ship cheap Chinese made goods. They will not honor the 90 day return policy without first deducting the cost of your goods before they refund. They charge "return fees and custom clearance fee" DO NOT buy from them.

This is a scam company

This is a scam company . I spent a lot of money on 2 woollen jackets and a crochet top. What arrived was 2 x polyester pieces of cloth that looked like they had been stitched together by a 5 year old. They refused to refund me even with photos and proof. Do not buy from this place!!! It is not a NZ company

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE NON NZ…

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE NON NZ SUPPLIERS!!! If I could give a minus review I would. I urge others to report to 105 Police (as I was andvised). The more people who do, the more NZ Police can do. They will build a file. Also advise your bank. Some may refund you directly.
Items nothing like what is advertised. I ordered 2 shirts with a collar in cotton fabric. Took 1 month for order to arrive shipped from China! Only just arrived 30/4/25 ordered 4/4/25. Not a NZ based business as I thought. Crap quality of shirt. No collar, cheap gastly fabric straight from Temu suppliers I imagine. Paid $120 for 2 shirts I thought came from a NZ boutique. Have tried to contact them. No reply so far. Absolutely gutted as the shirts I thought I ordered looked beautiful and I’ve lost money to scammers. Have laid complaint with NZ Police (as advised) and Commerce Commission. Seeking funds returned via my bank as advised by these parties. Evidently it’s doable. I urge others to do the same.

Laying a complaint with the commerce commission

Please watch out with this company. Their sizing is completely wrong and when I showed them that they provided me the wrong sizing they still have refused to give me a refund. I am now going to be laying a complaint with the Commerce Commission, which I suggest that you all do as well. The returns policy is against New Zealand law. They are terrible.

DO NOT buy from this company

DO NOT buy from this company. It doesn't deserve even one star! The quality of the dress (sapphire breezy blue midi dress) I ordered is absolute, plastic crap! It was going to cost me $40 to return it to the address they told me to in China, in order to get my refund of $70+. Their address is apparently at 116 Durham Street, Tauranga but they don't want returned goods dropped there. No reputable NZ based retail company would charge $40 to refund $70!!!!!!!!

This is a scam

Do not use this website. The clothing is low quality drop shipped from China and returns must go back to the sender if you can even get them to honour their returns policy. After 4 requests they have still not provided details. They DO NOT appear to have any presence in New Zealand. They are quick to respond but highly evasive. They even told me the round neck pleated front was was the v neck top I had ordered 🤦‍♀️. Definitely a scam and work o. The theory that the customer will give up trying to get refunds
