A very helpful lady called Lesley went out of her way to sort the issue promptly and efficiently and could not have done more to help me, due to an error by HMRC.

I received my payment a couple of days ago cleared this morning. Only took about 9 weeks from signing up, and i was actually surprised! As my PPI took forever and a day!

What was annoying was HMRC not paying me back the extra I had overpaid in tax 3 years ago, bit cheeky that!

Can't get through on phone email sent back by mailer demon so how are you going to prove you did not authorize them to get your tax refund check.
Ridiculous that HMRC do not contact person who actually is due the cash. They must have thousands of people's money.

once again this scammer company are taking my rebates even after they said they told HMRC they had nothing to do with me tell everyone what a bunch of crooks this company is

Got tax rebate from HMRC called to find out where my cheque was and they told me it went to Tax Tree who are acting on my behalf. I have never heard of this company nor have I signed anything to say they can act on my behalf. Their email address doesn't work and their telephone number takes you round in circles so you can't speak to Anyone it's a SCAM. Took food out my kids mouths this company and caused me so much stress I have went to the financial ombudsman I will get my money one way or another!!

We didn't receive payment right away, once we had the letter from HMRC i emailed (as you could never get through by telephone call) i emailed a copy of the letter, i did have to do a chase up email, but within 2 weeks a cheque was received this morning.

I was worried after reading all the reviews thinking we were never going to get our money, but the cheque has come through, i will come straight back on here should it bounce, but for anyone worried, i hope this will make you feel better.

Tax Tree, I have some reservations about this company who says they are approved by HMRC for tax refunds, there are many stories from messages on Trust Pilot by people detailing their problems with Tax Tree and cheques that have not been received.
I have just been issued a tax refund by HMRC and according to them it takes 14 days for the HMRC refund to reach Tax Tree, there is a Tax Tree deduction of 45% including VAT as a success fee so as I had a refund of £917.12 I should receive around £500 from Tax Tree, I will be interested to see how long it takes Tax Tree to issue this refund and I've worked it out to be around a month, it is now the middle of July 2023 so I recon that i should get my refund by the end of August, but as so many have said it's taken a lot longer to get their refund cheque such 3 or 4 months or sometimes not at all and then having to call Tax Tree, they are then told a cheque was sent previously but it was never received by the claimant, this seems to be a delaying tactic by Tax Tree to benefit from the funds issued to them by HMRC being in Tax Trees bank account to get the interest.
I think the best way to complain about Tax Tree refund delays is to post a massage on RESOLVER ( this is pretty good from my past experiences with dodgy companies) or contact HMRC and ask if they can do something about your difficulties with Tax Tree.

I got a letter from HMRC in May… I have no recollection of using these people though I did look into a ppi claim.. they have not sent me my money.. HMRC should just credit your tax account… no money should be sent to anyone!! If anyone can help with regard to getting money back I would be grateful.. as the telephone lines seem to not work..

I did review this company many months ago as I was having the same problems as everyone else on Trust Pilot, however, I have now received communication via a phone call ( which is so much better than email) and the lady I spoke to has genuinely restored my faith in them …. I wrote to them with all my concerns and issues and therefore suggest anyone else having issues does the same …. I, like many others hadn’t recognized this company as having dealt with historically, however, when it was explained to me that it was all via another company ( that I knew and had dealings with historically) then it all made sense! Hood everyone else gets the sand service I have just had because it was exemplary ….

I received a letter from HMRC in February saying I was due a refund and a cheque was sent to Tax tree. I didn't pursue it at first but thought a few months had passed so I contacted tax tree and like many others who have reviewed this company I was advised a cheque had been sent in May and it would take upto 4 weeks to cancel cheque and issue new one...luckily I have received a cheque from them within the same week of contacting then albeit they've took practically half of my refund!
Anything but a coincidence how many cheques go missing until customers contact them is it not enough that they're claiming half of our refund without trying to "steal" the rest too!

HMRC sent a letter to me stating tax tree will receive a cheque on the 14th February 2023 for £84.13 i have never used tax tree i went half way through the application then pulled out be cause it looked like a scam have today been in touch with HMRC and they have given me the phone number for action fraud. I believe HMRC should stop dealing with these thieves and send the money owed to the people that it belongs to tried to call tax tree and the line is unobtainable what a surprise bunch of thieves how can their employees sleep at night.

Absolutely disgusting company, HMRC have sent my cheque to them & it has been cashed months ago!!! Tax tree have informed me they do not have my cheque & it can take 6 months or more to be processed anyway!!! DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!

Taxtree were sent my tax refund in February 2023 I have chased them for months and as of today thay have not replied to my last 4 emails. I have now reported them to the FRC . However i have still not received my rebate. It does not take 4 months to review and in the meantime it stays in their high interst account earning them benefits at my expence and they will still charge their commision fee!! I have also advised HMRC of their practice . Please dont be caught out by Taxtree sharp practice.

Discusting thieves have my money and cannot contact them they had a cheque nearly a year ago and still nothing total scammers 😡

Absolute scam company. Have been waiting months for my tax refund, had correspondence with Lesley who assured me the money would be sent to me, more recently was told my cheque had been posted 2nd class, surprise surprise nothing has arrived and nobody is replying to my emails. Avoid this company at all costs. Will be seeking legal advice.

I received a letter from HMRC in February advising me they owed me some money and they had sent a cheque to tax tree. They would forward the cheque to me. Last Friday I called HMRC as I thought it may be a scam. No it was a genuine case. He told me how much I was owed with a bit of interest. I had to email tax tree as you can’t get through on the phone. I did email back and forth with a lady named Lesley. She even sent a copy of a letter they’d send to HMRC telling them I no longer wanted them to represent me. I will send it myself too. Told me my cheque had been written on 27th April. It arrived yesterday with 24th May’s date. They haven’t included any interest on the original amount and had taken 45% in fees. I’ve never heard of this company and have never signed up for them to represent me. Absolutely fuming as HMRC would have sent me the full amount plus interest. Tax tree are crooks in my opinion.

I was quite concerned about tax tree when I read all the negative reviews. I can honestly say when I emailed them they either replied the same day or the next day. Kerry dealt with me and she was fantastic she couldn't of done any better. I recieved my cheque and couldn't be happier. Thanks kerry.

Can not get through to this company despite HMRC confirming they sent my money to them over 2 months ago. I filled in a PPI refund enquiry form but at no point did I ask them to investigate tax refund! To this point I have not even received a letter , email or phone call. Do not use this company.

This company is a nightmare to deal with. I applied through them for a refund in 2021 and there were delays that were probably pandemic related.
In August last year they emailed me saying I would receive my refund within 6-8 weeks.
They have stopped replying to my emails and the original telephone number I was given is not active.
Huge disappointment as a few years previously they successfully and promptly processed my PPI claim. I have now lost all confidence and can no longer recommend this company.
