I was invited to what was described as a “consultation call,” but it really just felt like a sales pitch for their accelerator program.
That in itself isn’t a problem, but it wasn’t really presented that way. The call focused a lot on branding and signing up for the program, along with the usual urgency tactic — £299 for the next 24 hours, then it goes up to £399, and you’ll “never” see that price again.
Out of curiosity, I checked the same link a few days later… still £299. That alone made it feel more like a sales tactic than anything genuine.
Before deciding, I also read through a mix of positive and negative reviews. At first, I figured some of the negative ones were just people being frustrated. That happens. But what stood out more was the way the company responds to those reviews.
A lot of the replies come across as defensive, and in some cases just… strange. One of them was written in this full pirate/nautical tone — “ahoy,” “messages in a bottle,” “stowaways,” “crewing up,” etc. I get maybe trying to be funny, but it didn’t come across that way. It just felt out of place for a company responding to customer concerns.
And honestly, that’s what made the decision for me more than anything else.
If I’m being asked to spend a few hundred pounds on something, I expect a certain level of professionalism — especially in how a company handles feedback publicly.
This might work for some people, but between the sales approach and the tone of those responses, it just wasn’t for me.
In the end, their replies told me everything I needed to know.

In the Name of الله
I must say I don't understand these bad reviews.
When I only saw extremely overpriced courses by the schools/by the government.
I found a super cheap course for 349£ for the english language that is the highest course (level 5) and its also equivalent to the CELTA qualification
And thats not even the real price, the DISCOUNT IS 35 %
£226.85 is the end sum
Whereas the schools in germany to learn "DLL-Deutsch Lehren Lernen"
=To learn how to teach German
Cost 1500€
It was clear to me that the jobs that Luke advertised were mostly going to be online jobs, so what?
Register on 3-5 online sites with a hourly rate of 20-25 and wait for the students to be interested.
Maybe start off with a little lower rate so you can build your experience/lesson hours
Luke has definitely built a great website for beginners, intermediate and advanced students and he works with these schools that have a great reputation.
What do you want more?
Thanks Luke, and الحمد لله
Id recommend TeacherTee to anyone who asks me where I can find a TEFL Certificate and whoever wants to become a (an online-)teacher
They provided me with a link to a discounted TEFL course. The course is a real qualification and it exists, so that's a positive. There are better courses out there though.
Other than providing me with a course, I found the company extremely irritating and unprofessional to be honest. I had calls from different people within the company, none of whom retained any information from previous calls. I would speak to someone on the phone and still receive pushy texts that didn't apply to me.
I'm a fairly experienced educator and they said there would be great opportunities to earn a decent hourly rate. Once I'd done the course they called me and said okay we've got this company: Preply, as if it were some top secret MI5 level information. Preply is perhaps the most well-known and easy to access tutoring platform in the world. You have to do free trials and they don't provide you with any mateirals.
One team members called me multiple times and kept asking if I'd signed up to a website they'd suggested, she didn't read or respond to any of my emails and kept sending pushy messages after she clearly hadn't read mine.
Really curious to know if they simply earn money of sign up codes for very well-known websites or whether I just had a bad experience. Even today I still get random emails.
Teacher Tee advertised ESL teacher jobs for $20 and $25 per hour on affiliate sites found on Google searches, funneled me to their website to apply, but the job was actually only $15 per hour, which is false advertising. I found two broken links on their website, one with a hackers warning, their videos are unprofessional, and their Companies House information is out of date. I don't trust this company and won't be using them. I do not think they care about teachers at all. Exploitative.
Amazing. Helped me out a lot really. So incredibly grateful.
Teacher Tee is an platform for teachers or anyone in other fields who want to help others with their English struggles. The wealth of knowledge and value cannot be compared to any other platform. The sessions are based on the end result of your success as a teacher entrepreneur. Community is not just a word here, it is a feeling of belonging and support in a place that inspires and motives learning in this new world of aI technology.
It was great working with all the mentors and learning from their experience. From the get-go, Luke's webinars were really full of value and helped me kick-start my business in the right direction.
I niched down after watching the free webinar, started creating content etc. I already had a solid background in business and teaching when starting, so when it came to the accelerator what I really needed were the sales and outreach knowledge.
Before my first month finished, I booked 4 calls and counting.
Thank you so much Luke, Emma, Christi and Sergio!
You guys rock, each and every one of you contributed to my growth and mindset. The sales knowledge from Sergio definitely stood out for me!
Outstanding, simply outstanding! Luke and Teacher Tee have completely transformed my online teaching journey from completing my TEFL to joining the Accelerator Academy and launching my own successful online business. None of this would have been possible without their incredible support and guidance. I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of such an inspiring and supportive community. They’re organised, genuine, and truly deliver life-changing transformations!
TeacherTee have been amazing in supporting me to get my first teaching job. They are a great company to work with and I would 100% recommend this anyone wanting to teach and have your own freedom!!
Professionals who helped me excel my earnings potential! The mentor programme opened more avenues than I could have imagined.
Luke is great and pleasure to work with. Very organized and professional.
This MAY have been a good idea, but their disorganization, bad attitude, and continued charges have all gone wrong. When I spoke my truth about how disorganized I found their platform to be, the owner (apparently a rather emotional fellow) decided to unilaterally remove me from the platform rather than to inquire about my position. I did receive a credit to my account for the initial payment I made, so I wrongly assumed I’d receive no more charges. The following month there was another debit from my account, and I have now made 2 attempts to be refunded and canceled. Thus far, no response. I will take this up with my bank. In the meantime I would caution anyone considering this shady operation to be prepared for a completely disorganized platform, confusion, and the prospect that you may be inconvenienced (as I am) to get your money back from them, although they emphasize a money back guarantee. I got the initial funds back, but they have not discontinued the monthly subscription fee.

Sadly, I didn't have the best time with TeacherTee.
I was speaking with an advisor (I will not mention any individuals names in this public review) who was helping me get my Preply account back on track. I had the account all set up, but wasn't receiving any new students. I had a call arranged with the advisor, but she messaged me to say that she was behind schedule, and if she could phone me in half an hour, to which I said was fine, but she didn't call me at all. The next day, she apologised for the 'miscommunication', (but I don't see that as miscommunication- rather 'missed communication'.) Anyway, a little while later and with still no new students on Preply, I started a new job at an English school, and as I hadn't gotten any new students, I hid my profile whilst I got used to my new schedule at my new job. I communicated this to the advisor from TeacherTee, and I also asked if we could reschedule a call because I was struggling to figure out how to use Preplys timetable (I actually used Preply for about two years after getting my CELTA but that was a while before its updated and newly designed platform that I'm not familiar with). She asked for my availability, which I gave to no respo se, but instead she called me at a random time when I was not available and in fact teaching a class. The reason I'm writing this is because since then, I tried to reach out to TeacherTee and explain this issue via their website, as I'd still be interested in starting online work with them again (as I had already put the time in to make an introduction video and a new Preply account) just maybe with a different agent, but sadly I didn't receive a response from TeacherTee . A shame, as I got my hopes up that TeacherTee could help me get back online, and I had the introduction video and newly acquired Preply accou t all ready to go with them, but I guess I will have to look elsewhere.
There is something shady about this 'company'. I have in the last 24 hours received an email confirming my application had been successful (I haven't applied for a job with them recently) but I had applied for a job on indeed that had no mention of 'TeacherTee'. Are they also advertising under a different name?
I did submit an application back in January and had a phone call with someone named Mia - this was regarding a job with LingoAce (whom I am also getting constant emails from). I presume they are acting as an agent for LingoAce - if you're interested in working for LingoAce, I'd suggest just to apply direct but only if you're happy with $7 a class - included in that sum is the need to grade homework, unit reports, class summaries and feedback.
TeacherTee - enough with the marketing emails, you also seem to know details about my Preply profile which is concerning.
EDIT: I did NOT give you my Preply details!
Stop exploiting teachers with false promises, poor pay and shady tactics. End of!

Fran at TeacherTee has been very supportive throughout the entire process. She gives great advice and I would not be where I am without her support.
As a newly qualified Tefl Teacher having the support of someone with so many years experience was a god send.
I can’t recommend TeacherTee enough. If you are just starting out, they will help you navigate this exciting new world.
TeacherTee have been very supportive in setting up a Preply Tutor account and Profile, which is greatly appreciated as a recently qualified TEFL tutor.
Luke and Mia have answered any questions with transparency and clear advice where needed, also offering tips where required, and these have proven useful already.
I have achieved early successes as a tutor on Preply, and some of this can certainly be attributed to the engaged manner with which TeacherTee have operated. Thank you.
I was very impressed by the professional way TeacherTee assisted me in my quest for employment. They were very practical and also offered a very friendly personal touch. Specifically, my queries and questions were dealt with by Francesca, both by phone and email, and she was great.
Thanks
After they accepted my application and taking a closer look at this so-called "company," it's clear this isn't a legitimate job opportunity. They simply sell TEFL courses and set up Preply profiles: services anyone can access on their own. With over 10 years of experience in ESL, I can confidently say operations like this are part of the problem in this industry. It's nothing more than a group of "passport bros" trying to fund flashy, fake lifestyles off the backs of hopeful teachers.
Edit: First of all, stop saying my application was rejected. It wasn’t. My application was accepted and I canceled your “group interview” because I knew exactly what it was — a sales pitch. I did my research on your so-called “company” and saw right through it.
Stop falsely advertising that you’re hiring English teachers when all you’re really doing is pushing TEFL certificates through a shady consulting setup.
Second, I’m a man and my name is not Jo. So either check your cancelation records and admit you made a mistake, or just be honest and say you’re lying. Either way, people applying should know the truth about what you’re doing before wasting their time sitting through your hour-long group interview sales pitch.
Here we go again. You keep insisting my application wasn’t accepted, or now you’re more carefully saying it wasn’t “progressed.” Let’s be clear: it wasn’t progressed by me, not you.
I already have a CELTA and I know how to set up a Preply profile. That’s something any competent person can do without your so-called help. And calling Preply a real company is a stretch. It’s a platform that takes over 35 percent of what teachers earn. You don’t hire anyone. You don’t offer jobs. You offer empty promises and misleading ads.
Anyone reading your replies can see what kind of company you actually are and what kind of person is behind it. Stop misrepresenting yourself as a learning platform on job sites like Indeed. You are not offering employment. You are selling TEFL certificates under false pretenses and wasting people’s time.
And yes, it’s very obvious your replies are all generated by ChatGPT. Maybe try using it to build something honest instead of using it to mislead people.

TeacherTee is cool but the communication is not so good and they made me use an email I can’t access. I haven’t gotten any lesson yet neither.
The one positive of my experience with TeacherTee is that I now have a functioning Preply profile, whereas I had previously struggled to get introductory videos approved when I set up on my own. I do appreciate that, and I’m thankful to them. But there have unfortunately also been quite a few negatives. I waited many weeks after sending them my introductory video before they acted on it. I had to send them an email to prompt and remind them. It’s pretty rare that they will actually send you a reply to an email. They will usually just act on anything without acknowledging you with a reply. I do feel it’s important to send these kinds of acknowledgements and the fact that they’re not bothering doesn’t give a good impression. They only seem willing to communicate directly through phone calls which is not preferred or convenient for everyone. I requested an online meeting via Google meet or zoom or similar and was ignored. I spoke to someone called Fran during my one phone call with the agency and it wasn’t a pleasant experience - she doesn’t seem to enjoy her job very much and was very easily irritated by the smallest problems in communication (the signal was very bad, so I couldn’t hear her well and she responded to by talking to me as if I was an idiot).
I was supposed to have another chat with them to talk about other companies I could be placed with, but after explaining that I would prefer not to have a follow-up meeting by phone, suggesting Google Meet/Zoom instead, I haven’t heard anything about that from them.
Overall, I definitely don’t feel that I wasted my time, but I do feel disappointed that they didn’t deliver anything like what they advertised. Just some simple basic customer service would go a really long way to building a better reputation among teachers.
