Dear Chris,
We are disappointed that you chose to leave a negative review without contacting us first, as we are always happy to answer any questions or concerns directly before matters are made public.
We would like to clarify that the product description is not misleading. The chairs do incorporate traditional mortise and tenon joints in key areas of their construction. In addition, they feature a stainless steel reinforcement bracket beneath the arms. This bracket is an engineering enhancement and is not a replacement for the mortise and tenon joinery.
As these are stacking chairs, they are frequently moved while stacked together. It is common for users to lift an entire stack by the chair arms, which places significant stress on the arm joints. The stainless steel reinforcement bracket has therefore been incorporated to provide additional strength, helping to prevent the arms from loosening over time and improving the overall durability and lifespan of the chairs, even if they are repeatedly lifted in this way.
We do not believe it is fair to suggest that the chairs have been misrepresented, as the mortise and tenon joints are present within the chair's construction, with the stainless steel bracket simply providing additional reinforcement where experience has shown it offers a long-term benefit.
Should you have contacted us directly, we would have been more than happy to explain this design feature. If you no longer wish to keep the chairs, we will of course assist you with the return process in accordance with our returns policy.
Kind regards,
