Tonight was my second game of football with the Buckshaw Team Kickabout, it is a great social meet up.
Nobody is judged on ability or fitness, it is completely all inclusive. Glad I have found this place to go and have a great game of football with a welcoming and friendly bunch of lads!

What a great find, as a dad to a toddler who moved to the area, exercise and time out the house in the evenings has been on hold. Having not played in 5 years it’s been a rusty start, but all the lads have been encouraging. The games are a blend of abilities and you will see a few mazy runs, quality goals and a few efforts over the fence. All played out with a lot of laughs.
The games start promptly, teams announced in advance, ticket bookable from your phone and generally really well organised.
There is a lot of WhatsApp activity with updates on slots available at other venues to try to keep as many games going as possible.
Great to see the opportunity for a game spreading further afield.
I Look forward to continuing with it, booking the ticket has worked well in terms of making sure I’ve gone along too rather than pay on the day and missing it for being too wet etc, beats the gym.

No stresses about being "good enough",fit enough or anything like that. Just a good atmosphere, and it gets blokes out of the house for an hour or so. Something to look forward to each week.

Simply excellent. Welcoming, massive variety in levels. But no one cares. Everyone enjoys the kick about.

Couldn’t recommend this enough to anyone moving into the area or simply wanting to have a laugh.

Been invloved with Team Kickabout now for 2 plus years and it's the highlight of my week. If you wanted to play football every evening you could.
The people that run it down to the guys that turn up really make a differnece to my week and I couldn't recommend it more

Never thought I’d play football again after 5 years of not playing…..a neighbour recommended coming down and after 2 years playing 2 nights a week at the ripe old age of 58 I couldn’t think of a better way of getting my dose of exercise and social interaction with a great bunch of lads…..all levels of skills are welcome even me

Top bunch of lads, whichever group you end up joining. Everyone is there to stay fit with some weekly sporting activity and take their minds off their usual day to day chores - switch off and be young again, kicking a ball round with like minded guys. Give it a go…

I've been attending TeamKickabout for the last 3 years. It's massively improved my confidence and physicality getting me out of the house and meeting new people. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Well done to the organisers for their commitment as this is great for men who otherwise would struggle to get out for exercise.
At 60 years old I enjoy the sessions but i find recovering from knocks takes longer and being honest maybe I should play with folk from my age group rather than men +20 years younger than myself. Will have to think about things.

Great bunch of guys. Much appreciated wee getaway. Planning making this a regular weekly night out.

As an overweight 37 year old I thought my football days may have been behind me but then I saw a Facebook advert for TKA down the road from my house and went down. Its been amazing to get back on the pitch and knock the ball about, whats more following my first week I invited two of my pals down and they love it too. Its the only time we see each other these days with Families etc.....I certainly can say that TKA has improved not only my fitness but my mental health too and that surely is what its all about.

Was invited along by my neighbour, baring In mind I hadn’t played football in about 5 years and glad I went! No fitness levels or experience levels matter, it’s just a bunch of lads getting together and having a game of football. Best part of my week at the moment, having a game of football and a laugh with other lads, brilliant experience every week!
