We had no Wi-Fi connection

We had no Wi-Fi connection, after dealing with 3 different people over the phone who couldn't help me (this taken 2 and half days), I got Mr Freeman on the phone. Mr Freeman was professional, calm, well spoken and knew what he was doing. Thank you very much for your wonderful service, keep up the excellent work.

Incorrect billing amount by Telkom

Signed up with Telkom Openserve for a fibre line during January 2026 and received a special valid for six months whereby I am supposed to pay R489 per month for six months and for the remaining six months the full amount of R655 per month which were never implemented. Phone calls after phone calls, e-mails after e-mails and the matter is still not been resolved. I got proof on a Telkom pamphlet that the special is legit and even supply Telkom with a copy of it. Still nothing was done to rectify their own mistake. Handed the matter over to my legal representative for further action. Please STAY AWAY from Telkom Openserve. They are BAD news.

cutting off services earlier than agreed

This is now the 3rd time that telkom cut my services, due to them not sticking to the arranged debt order dates. My payment went off last month and now Monday I got cut off due to no payment. But it's not even the end of the month. As my debt order date is the 1st of every month.

Telkom’s billing practices are unfair…

Telkom’s billing practices are unfair and create a debt trap. If a debit order fails, the penalty fees are unrealistically high. They retry the debit within the same month, but this time with added rejection fees. If that fails again, yet another penalty is charged. Once you miss a single payment, it becomes extremely difficult to get out of the cycle. Cancellation is just as problematic. Requests are only processed 30 days later, and if you don’t follow up before your contract ends, Telkom automatically rolls you into a month‑to‑month plan without consulting or notifying you. This means you’ll still be billed even after your term should have ended. It feels like Telkom profits more from penalties and poor communication than from actual service. Customers deserve transparency and fair treatment, not hidden traps that keep them paying longer than intended.

Good evening all

Good evening all
My dad was due for an upgrade on his telkom contract
He went to telkom at the Glen they have confirmed that yes indeed the number is due for an upgrade .
He wanted an IPhone ,the manager at the Glen telkom advised my dad to go to the Istore advise them that he is due for an upgrade on this specific number and they will upgrade the phone.
He did as instructed, at the Istore the lady assisting advised that they picked up an error they escalate to Telkom and telkom will resolve the issue
Its now 2 weeks later almost and the issue is not resolved
My dad has escalated to Customer service they did call him and he was advised that the issue is resolved and he can go to istore and get the phone
When he gets to IStore the same issue still persist
Today we went to telkom the Glen again
They advised there is no issue on their side the contract is approved
The istore still has the same issue
The manager then went across to the istore
She checked the system she advised that istore needs to escalate to a manager in telkom ,the lady from the istore has been escalating telkom is ignoring her mails as they are doing with my dad.
Who can assist us at telkom to resolve this issue ?
We have been sending emails to customer service
We have been calling all they do is transfer calls that's all

Extrememly bad service

Extrememly bad service. I would not suggest using Openserv at all. They have done a new install which does not work. One week later and it is still not working. Our router has not even been connected as of yet because there is a fault light on the fibre box. You try and escalate to have the technician come out to fix the fault, that should have been done during the initial installation. They still have not come out and will not escalate the call out. Terrible customer service. Not even worth the 1 star to be honest.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

In my life, I have never been so insulted and regretful of putting my trust in a company.
To be told, in a nutshell
"You signed a contract for the account, you need to pay us, whether we provided you with the service or not."
And now, being threatened with legal action, because I refuse to pay for fibre, when NOBODY EVEN INSTALLED THE DAMN FIBRE LINE.
Telkom are blatant, outright criminals, and I will not in a million years use you again.
My business? Gone.
My wife's business? Gone.
Anyone I ever speak to about internet again, will know exactly who NOT to trust.

Dont bother with telkom!

The worst LTE service EVER from telkom! We're still not sure what happened at the end of December and Capitec cant answer that also, but the debit order for R834 from telkom didnt go through, even though there were R2878 available in the specific account at the time. Then during January our service was cut off due to non payment, which we didnt even know about, but I can also understand.

The problem came in when we called on 26 January 2026 to try and resolve the issue. We were told that because the debit order didnt go off, we were handed over to telkoms internal debt collectors, debi-check, or something like that, We have been loyal customers of telkom for 5+ years, and all of a sudden we were left feeling almost like criminals after missing only one debit order, and that because of a bank glitch. (Capitec bank statement available as proof that there was R2878 in the account at the time)

We then wanted to make the payment via EFT so that our service could be restored, but the operator told us not to because they already loaded the next debit order double, including a R202 penalty fee, and that our service would be restored on Saturday 31 January 2026.

On Monday 2 February we called again because our service hadn't been restored the Saturday and we wanted to find out why. We then found out that because the double debit order wasnt loaded by telkom themselves, but by debi-check, they would have to wait for payment from them and that this could take up to 14 working days. Also the amount that they loaded were R1251 and not double, so there were still R418+ outstanding, plus the R202 penalty. We then tried to reason with them and told them that we couldnt be without internet for so long but they just kept on insisting that there was nothing that they could do and that we would just have to wait.

After getting nowhere, getting frustrated and angry because of the lack of understanding and incompetence, we decided to cancel everything we had with telkom then and there. We asked what the final amount was that we had to pay and they told us that it was R620 and that after receiving this payment everything would be cancelled. I also remember specifically asking if that was that or if they were going to deduct another debit order again at the end of February and they said no, if we made the payment of R620 everything would be cancelled and that there would be no further charges. We immediately made the payment and received the "Cancellation Order" with ref no. 2751328974A.

Yesterday morning, 26 February 2026, the debit order for R834 went off again and I immediately contacted them to find out why this was happening. They told me, because the account was under suspension at the time of cancellation, and they received our payment from debi-check (their internal debt collectors) only on 11 February 2026, that was the reason why another month was added. Very important to note that we have been without service still since January 2026 and didnt get any further service from them since then.
Obviously we freaked out over this but decided to let it go and to just put this whole nightmare behind us.

But like all the other times we called, the operator that we spoke to sounded incompetent and very unsure of himself and the situation. So today, 27 February 2026, I called them AGAIN and to CONFIRM, because I want to be 100% sure and be rid of telkom forever, but there was yet another surprise waiting. So today I learned that we will be charged once again at the end of March 2026. According to them, because we cancelled on 2 February 2026, this means that our final invoice will only be in the following calendar month!

How is this justice?? We didnt just get up one morning and decided to cancel, we cancelled the service because there was no service! When we tried to resolve the situation and explain what happened, we were met with incompetence and just left stuck with nothing to be done to the situation. Both my wife and I work from home and cannot be without internet, but we were let down by telkom and forced to cancel and look for another service provider that would go the extra mile. All this because of a bank glitch which is still a mystery, and telkom not willing to understand and help their customer.

I had a horrible couple of weeks and for me it is so unfair that we still have to pay R834 for the next two months, and last had service in January 2026. Do yourself a favor and stay away, I would not even recommend telkom to my worst enemy. No wonder they lost so much of the market share to other service providers, at the end of the day it all comes down to customer care!!

I strongly advise anyone against using…

I strongly advise anyone against using Telkom Internet. The service is consistently unreliable the signal drops multiple times a day, making even simple tasks impossible. The speeds are a joke compared to what’s advertised; you are paying for performance you will never get.
Customer service makes the experience even worse. Getting help is slow, unhelpful, and often results in no real solution. It feels like the company doesn’t care about delivering the service you are paying for. For the cost, this is completely unacceptable. If you need internet that works when you need it, look elsewhere. Telkom fails on both reliability and support.

Telkom is horrible, Bad.

Bad service, customer care with a lot of inexperienced and unprofessional consultants. My service was suspended without a reason. No one can make sense of the situation but they are not resolving either. I pay a lot for this madness.

Avoid Mogade at all costs!

I have never been spoken to so disrespectfully by a service provider in my life. I had the displeasure of dealing with Mogade from the customer service team, and it was an absolute nightmare.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Here is what happened:

I tried to correct her on a detail regarding my query, and she immediately started SHOUTING over me. She refused to let me speak.

Following that, she dumped me on an extended hold with no updates and no refresh. It felt like she just abandoned the call to get rid of me.

I asked for a Team Leader and a callback. She ignored me completely. She did neither.

This woman is rude, aggressive, and offers zero customer service skills. Telkom, please do your customers a favor and ensure Mogade receives serious disciplinary action and retraining on how to speak to people. Absolutely pathetic experience

I took a 2 year contract and on October…

I took a 2 year contract and in October Telkom sent me an email to say next month my contract ends. Month end of November, they deduct money and I reverse the money thinking my contract ended. They do debit of 2 months which is November and December, meaning that I have completed my contract. January, debit order happens and I am told it’s a charge for reversing money last year November. So they charged me twice if not mistaken for reversing a debit order. This was never communicated when I took the contract. I believe they do that so that they can benefit from customers. I paid all their charges but I do not wish to ever be a customer of Telkom. So disappointed in their service.

Firstly I purchased a Huawei Pura 70…

Firstly I purchased a Huawei Pura 70 White in March 2025. Had the handset for almost 8 months when it started getting very hot. Took it to Telkom Store in Mooirivier Potchefstroom on the 3rd November 2025. Got it back 26th November 2025. Had it for a week same thing happened. Made calls to Huawei repair center then Ram fetched it on the 11th Dec 2025. Got it back 6th January 2026. Could not get to use the handset due to the IMEI number. The battery was replaced the lcd was replaced and lastly the motherboard was replaced. Took it back to the Telkom Store in Mooirivier Mall on the 9th January 2026. Spoke the manager Gugu who then told me she will escalate the matter to get the matter resolved. Well till today nobody has contacted me and the handset was still in the store. So how do I know if the handset was ever sent away to be repaired. I called Huawei was told that Telkom needs to replace the handset as it was purchased there. Or is Telkom playing for time so that my warranty is going to expire end of March 2026. This is a R569 a month for the next 3 years. So I would tell people to be very careful when purchasing any handset as Telkom's services are not up to standard. There after service is the worst ever. Now I'm told to wat till next week. So if the store has a manager how come they do not have any authority to sort any issues. I would like my handset to be replaced immediately. I will be stopping my debit order till this matter is resolved. Would anyone who works for Telkom like to be treated like this I don't think so. Was offered a loan phone still waiting since 4th February 2026. Disgusting service.
