I want to share my experience working…
I want to share my experience working at Textilia Kolding.
I was hired on a two-month contract as a laundry machine operator. The job required working next to extremely hot industrial drying machines for long hours, which made the working conditions very difficult.
During one of my shifts, I became sick with a fever and informed my supervisor, who told me to go home, rest, and return when I was well. After taking two days of sick leave and returning to complete a full shift, I was called by the supervisor PETER VOSS into the office the next day and told to sign a termination letter because I had taken “too much leave.” I was then asked to leave immediately.
As someone who wears a hijab, I also left feeling that I was not treated as fairly or respectfully as some other employees, which made the experience even more disappointing.
No employee should have to choose between their health and their job. I hope companies provide safer working conditions and treat all employees fairly and with respect, regardless of their background or religion.
