Christmas Meal

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at our Christmas meal!! Service was very slow(not the waitresses fault & we did leave a tip) food wasn’t the best & some not having mash potato even though we’d booked a year in advance & sent our order a couple of weeks before so they knew how many people were coming? Obviously not done enough food for the amount of people attending which isn’t good!! We waited over an hour between courses & when you have young children it isn’t good!! We We’re offered a refund on the day to be bank transferred but no refund was given & a very snotty manager over the phone when we rang to ask about it saying we weren’t getting one!! Love the pub but may be a while before fire we go back!! 😢🎅🏻🎄

Very ordinary overpriced food served by staff with plenty of attitude.
The waitress stared at me impatiently as I looked at the menu and when I asked for more time she just walked away saying my food would have to arrive after my friends.
Later she abruptly interrupted my friend who was talking about a difficult emotional subject without any excuse me or apology.
At the end of the meal when I asked to change a drink order she rudely said no as the half a pint of beer was already poured.
I ordered fishcakes at £17.95 and had to pay another £5.50 for chips. Nearly £24 for fishcakes and chips that tasted like they had come out of a frozen Birds Eye packet was very poor value.
On a warm Spring evening the pub was practically empty and I’m not surprised.
I complained to the company and the manager Andy Roberts wrote an apologetic reply saying he would investigate and come back to me but simply hasn’t bothered to do so.
This probably tells you all you need to know.
