Outrageous - A rip off

We wanted the skirting board to be renewed in a tiny area in the kitchen. The skirting board is about 3 iches. The job would take probably no more than 1 hour. I could not believe the estimate it is £662.46.I find it absolutely outrageous and complete rip off. I was expecting an estimate of about £120.00 which I thought was quite expensive.

Electrician was asked to repair 2 panel…

Electrician was asked to repair 2 panel heaters.
he took the parts of a working heater and fitted it to the one not working then advised he could not get parts for the one he had butchered.
the 2nd heater was not repaired but left as it was.
Took 2.5 hours to do the job. charged £125 and left me in the same position as started.
Office spokesperson unhelpful and refused to accept my complaint.
I also asked the tradesman to contact me before carrying out repairs. Never rang once
No feedback that the parts for the working heater could not be supplied just a bill. I had to ring and fi8nd out if the job was finished.

Absolutely extortionate prices 87…

Absolutely extortionate prices 87 pounds and the Plummer will decide how long it takes once he arrives. By that time you’ve already committed to 87.00 pounds just because he’s turned up! Quality of work is poor they stretch the time out , they claim they have been in business for 20 years I am shocked . Maybe with the age of the Internet and reviews the
Business may not last another 20 years.

Very unhappy

Very unhappy. Given a very vague quote for relaying some slabs that had become loose with frost damage. I had previously sent a photo of the slabs. When he came to do the work the price escalated and was much more than another quote I had who were also going to repair my wall for not much more. I still have no firm quote to finish the job from 50+, so have decided to go with the quotation from someone else. I complained and it didn't get me anywhere. I am now £50 short and very little work done for 2.5 hour 'work'..

Trustworthy "handyman" service

Used The50plus company recently for plumbing and a couple of odd jobs. Office staff friendly & helpful on phone, gave clear and very reasonable quote. Visit booked had to be rearranged due to van breakdown; they were really apologetic and went the extra mile to arrange for two people to come the next day to get job done as quickly as possible. Great communication around all this, very reassuring! Plumbing turned out to be more complex, so took longer than anticipated; but cost held as quoted. People were polite, friendly, careful with my things, and tidied up well afterwards. Only drawback is they're not nationwide! See website The50plus.co.uk for more information.
