The Dinner Detective is America's largest interactive true crime mystery comedy dinner show! Solve a hilarious and engaging mystery while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The killer is hiding somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect! Our show is very different from traditional true crime mystery dinner shows. We will hide non-costumed actors in the audience that are pretending to be part of the crowd. This results in a much more social and interactive evening than with other shows. Our shows are set during the present day and take place in real time. Over the course of the night, our costumed Detectives will uncover clues, interrogate audience members that may or may not be part of the show, and help everyone get closer to solving the mystery.

Had a great time but the banter from the two cops went on too long and there were too many parts that I and many others couldn’t hear because they were too far away. I’m not sure why some small microphones couldn’t have been used.
The other part that kind of killed the experience was that we were heavily encouraged all night to get detailed in writing who we thought was the killer and all of the clues/details that backed up our claim. And at the end they collected everyone’s papers but they came back with winners way too quickly for anyone to believe that they actually read all of the papers. There were over 50 people there & we’re supposed to believe that all the papers were ready within 10-15 minutes? It felt rushed. We had someone at our table who listed every last clue & detail that was later revealed…but they won nothing. We understood that someone might have written more detail but the fact that it was clear that they didn’t read all of the papers left a bad impression.

A very fun experience for a diverse group of people who all work together. Our usual holiday parties have been at various bars and restaurants around metro Denver, which tend to be noisy and not conducive to talking to each other. This was the perfect antidote to loud bars, we were in a very nice ballroom with elegant table settings, the actors were wonderful. Everyone had a good time.

Our party of eight celebrated a birthday at the Dinner Detective I really had no expectations, which is always advisable when you don't want to be disappointed.
From what I surmise, is the Dinner Detective is a franchise that is provided murder mystery scripts from the parent company, then contracts with a hotel for room/catering, and hires local "talent". The performers were friendly, the script was "corny, and we had fun because we made it fun. It was an amateur production with the actors wearing their street clothes. No costumes or props/sets in the room just, eight round tables in a hotel event space. The food was edible, the service was poor but we didn't come to "eat" so we just accepted that part of the evening. Unfortunately three people in our party became ill about 8-9 hours later. I did voice concerns but they assured me that they did everything right (held food at right temperatures, didn't serve expired food) but did state the "protein" was cooked the day before and made a point to state the salad was made fresh that day. (this explains why you cant change what you order). While i give them credit for stating the meals were cooked the day belore, it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Our group loved the event and everyone had a great time. The actors were amazing! The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because there was a mixup on the final meal order.

They let me be apart of the show and it made it really fun when I tricked my entire table

The Dinner Detective was a fantastic experience! We hosted a client event with about 40 guests, and everyone had a great time. The actors were engaging and did a great job keeping the energy high. One note of feedback—the drinks were a bit overpriced ($14 for a small cocktail), and some of the entrées didn’t quite match the price point. Overall, it was a fun and entertaining evening!
