We have just ordered a door from these…

We have just ordered a door from these for supply only as they do not install in our area as we are too far from Mansfield. The lady on the phone was very helpful with some questions we had regarding measuring. The door fitter said the door was good quality and said he will be ordering from the in the future too. Ordering the door from them and us finding a local fitter also saved us a lot of money. Would highly recommend.

Can't fault this company

Can't fault this company. To date, 3 different members of my family have used them. All have been really happy with the service, the product and the installation.

Personally, we've had 5 doors across 2 properties installed by Chris and Dean, and I have absolutely no complaints. Quick, efficient and tidy workmanship. The doors are absolutely excellent quality. The time from initial consultation/design to install was much quicker than expected and the price was fair for the work completed.

All houses have been upwards of 100 years old, with varying degrees of 'challenges' but they've navigated them beautifully, ensuring the final look suits the house.

I honestly can't recommend this company enough - thanks for your top quality service!

NOT recommended!!

The things they say happen after a sale didn’t. The lady who I chased up, rather than calling me as they state, was very brief on the phone like she didn’t want to speak. Didn’t relay and check information should have (stated in by them in emails) resulting in the incorrect size door being sent.

When calling to query, they aren’t at all bothered, not even an explanation into how this can happen etc… I don’t work in this industry so you’d think the company would have the correct information and follow their own stated terms. I tried to ask questions which ultimately would prove what I’m saying and was just getting “well that doesn’t matter now”. Unfortunately it does. Aftercare is as important as the sale. I had the door, they had their money, so they just weren’t interested. Bad customer service.

The door itself looked good, however I hired a professional fitter fitting the door, it’s never closed properly with a natural push, you physically have to ensure it’s shut, and a part in the handle cracked within a short space of time which we had to get sorted. And I had to get a builder to readjust the door hole size in the build which cost money and added time to our renovations.

No point contacting them about it as they don’t really care after sale.

Wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.

**edit following response from business**

You sold the door to us, you didn’t fit. Your service wasn’t followed as advertised, which led to mistakes, then zero interest in rectifying, it’s definitely you.

I have receipt and emails that prove the above and that I tried with you and you weren’t having any of it.

A few weeks ago, had the get the barrel changed, never been right, lock smith said cheap parts.

I haven’t said since he fit it as in after he left. He said the door wasn’t right. Do you think people want to call a company back who are rude and completely dismissive? Would they try contact you about a lock after that experience? May as well not bother if you aren’t interested.

When I contacted I asked how much the door size needed was and she kept refusing to say. Why? How did she know I didn’t want to buy another?

I was stuck with the door. The door lock wasn’t Yale.

My email states “ What happens next
A member of our team will contact you shortly to discuss your quote request. If
would like to talk to us sooner please call us on 01623 325030”. Would you say this was the point any issues would arise and can be rectified before producing the door? If not what is it for because my call last a whole 20 seconds, if that, and no discussion. Absolutely not what you have stated yourselves.

Regardless of the door size, poor customer service. Rude, dismissive, and not helpful in the slightest. Keep arguing if you like but you’re kind of proving my point.

Circles. Already explains why I didn’t get in touch. Because you don’t actually care and I don’t want to be spoken to and dealt with the way I experienced again.

No worries, as I’ve said, I had a bad experience and I reviewed it here. Poor customer service and non compliance of your own protocols. As you didn’t confirm whether this would be the point things were talked through and confirmed, I’ll confirm that as you didn’t check anything….because you didn’t.

You’re the door sales, you should lead this phone call you make and “discuss” as stated. I’m a customer not a door salesperson/fitter.

Again, no “sorry you had a poor experience with us, but If you contact us to talk about this and we’ll do our best”. Just dismissive and straight defensive comments. Confirmation of your customer service.

Have a nice day!

Good afternoon Elaine.

Following your edited review you have confirmed that you have ordered the door through our national supply only service, not our local supply and installation service. When ordering for Supply Only this means that you are responsible for the measuring of the door yourself, or if you have any doubts, have someone to measure the door for you. You have then used these measurements and ordered the door through our online door order page, we have then supplied you with a door to these sizes and specifications. We have no input into the sizes you give us.

I am sorry that you feel you have had a bad customer service, however we do not understand how you think it is our fault that you have ordered the door to the wrong size? If you had any doubts or questions at all about the sizes you could have contacted us before placing the order, or at least contacted us as soon as you placed the order, this way we could have helped you with any measurement questions and alterations. All we have done is order the door to the specifications you had given us.

Regarding the cheap parts comment, we have multiple options for both mechanisms and cylinders which you can can choose when ordering, all options are highly rated brands, including Yale, Winkhaus, Brisant, ABS etc... All cylinders are also star rated.
If the doors are fitted correctly the failure rate on these are extremely low even with years of use. As you have said yourself, the door sounds like it was not fitted properly as it does not close smoothly, this can cause premature failure.
However if you did have a failure you could have contacted us as it may have still had been under warranty.

I will reply to these new comments below, We will leave any other future replies unanswered on here as I believe we have made our point very clearly and our reply has come to its natural conclusion.
If you have any other issues in the future you are more than welcome to contact us.

"I haven’t said since he fit it as in after he left. He said the door wasn’t right" I am not sure what you mean here as this is very vague but if there was some sort of issue with the door you could have reported it to us, but we would need to know exactly what the issue is.

"When I contacted I asked how much the door size needed was and she kept refusing to say. Why? " As already stated previously we cannot give you the sizes that your door needs to be made to, all of our doors are made to measure. It is entirely your responsibility to measure the door, there is no set universal size for doors, we cannot give you the sizes of your door over the phone.

"The door lock wasn’t Yale.". The door lock will be whatever you had chosen on your door order.

Regarding our follow up call.."Would you say this was the point any issues would arise and can be rectified before producing the door? If not what is it for because my call last a whole 20 seconds, if that, and no discussion" . Again as previously mentioned, it is your responsibility to provide us with the correct specications including sizes. If you had any doubts about what you had ordered during the call would be the time for you to bring it up, we would have no way of possibly knowing if you have entered the wrong sizes for your specific door.

Excellent in every respect

Fantastic service from survey to installation of my new front door. Chris's attention to detail is reflected in the finished result which is beyond my expectations. Competitive prices, friendly and professional staff and a great selection of doors to choose from. I can't recommend this company highly enough - if you're looking for a new composite door, look no further.
