After failing 2 Standards Checks because of complacency and lack of preparation I can’t afford to go into my 3rd and final chance with the same mindset.
Mo came highly recommended and I could see why after just 10 minutes with him.
I felt aggrieved that I hadn’t passed 1st or 2nd time, especially after being 1 point of an ‘A’ grade last time out, but I quickly realised why I had failed when Mo asked me to run through my ‘pre lesson briefing.’
My approach to ‘shared responsibility’ was completely outdated and inside I was kicking myself for being so blasé about my approach to CPD. Reading books can only get you so far.
I was greatly encouraged by the feedback from Mo that my identifying and analysing faults was good and by the end of our time I was buzzing and now feel 100% ready for the next SC.
