Would recommend Stephen Oldham solicitors 100% totally professional service from start to finish, my son was very nervous and felt so embarrassed by his drink driving charge but Stephen made him feel at ease and helped him overcome his guilt. Stephen personally couldn’t be at court but his colleague Andrew Bennett represented my son and was amazing at making him feel at ease and represented him with a very professional manner not being stand offish to the judge but strongly putting forward my sons case and showing the court the best side of him that we all know.
It was his 2nd offence and as a high risk offender we expected the worse but Andrew managed to get our son the best sentence we could have expected, probation and unpaid work for 100 hours over 18 months, and the drink driving rehabilitation course which brought his ban from 3 yrs to 2 yrs 3 months.

I found Stephen from a search on Google, & having checked out the numerous positive reviews for him it became clear he was a specialist motoring lawyer.

My Stepson had been charged with Drink Driving, he is also a holder of a Personal Alcohol Licence as he is a manager in a nightclub so potentially the court could have been extra hard on him to set an example as he is responsible for people drinking alcohol on the premises he works at and as he should know better...

Stephen spent a significant amount of time discussing the case over the phone with myself which gave me the confidence to instruct him to represent my stepson. Then my Stepson had a long conversation for well over an hour discussing everything with Stephen plus he forwarded all the documentation from the Police so Stephen could then contact the CPS for all the additional information including the full charge documents and witness statements and so on.

In this instance, it was pretty clear there was no easy out for my stepson as all Police procedures were followed correctly and bottom line my stepson was guilty of drink driving with a breath reading of 57 so he was over 1.5 times the legal limit. Stephen advised us to try and mitigate the circumstances and manage the end result to minimise the penalty and fine etc.

We agreed and let him work his magic, On the court day Stephen had instructed Barry one of his specialist team to represent my stepson as Barry was fully versed in Personal Alcohol license law as well as Motoring Law. Barry drove 135 miles to be with us at court for 9am and immediately went through all the additional implications being a Personal Alcohol Licence holder might have to the case (Magistrates still have the power to also revoke or suspend a Personal Alcohol License at the same time as banning someone from driving).

Once the hearing started, Barry was asked by the clerk to the court for guidance as the clerk was unsure of the law but Barry took full control and steered both the Clerk and the Magistrates in a positive but legal direction.

The end result of all this and the excellent way Barry represented my stepson was a minimum ban of just 12 months with the offer for him to do a driver course so the ban will now only be 9 months plus the total fine including victim Surcharge and Court Costs was only £265 and the court also chose to take no action regarding my stepson's Personal Alcohol Licence so it was by far the absolutely best possible outcome we could have hoped for plus Stephen's total fees for himself and Barry were far more than reasonable and the best value I have ever had from any lawyer in the last 30 years.

TO SAY I RECOMMEND STEPHEN IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT - HE IS AS GOOD AS THEY GET IN MOTORING LAW AND WITHOUT THE CRAZY FEES OR PROMISES OF SOME
