Wonderful cat, crew and cuisine!

Wonderful large catamaran with automatic toilet flushing, coffee machine, desalinator and ice maker! Plenty of linen plus swimming towels. The captain and chef were extremely professional and went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable. I was most impressed with the generous attitude to food, with snacks and drinks always available and every meal a three course gastronomic affair. Most impressed with the overall professionalism and customer care ethos which beats the other two charter companies I’ve sailed with hands down. They seem to have almost all French speaking guests so hopefully they can become more international in future.

GS was slow and confusing

Contact from GS was slow, confusing, I had to ask for changes in documents to be in agreement with what was offered, payments took a week to go from GS to the charting company.
Finally everything was solved

In your case, the bank transfer was made without prior notice, which caused the confirmation to take a bit longer than usual.

TRIP OF A LIFETIME!

We took a chance booking a 7-day cabin cruise on a catamaran in Thailand without knowing much about the boat, crew or locale. Vincent at Globe Sailor navigated the details for us and was very responsive to every inquiry. The price was competitive and his assurances that it would meet our expectations solidified the booking.

We were not disappointed! In fact, the 7 days on Dream Escondido, a Lagoon 620 with 10 passengers and 3 crew, may be our best vacation to date!

The tour operator was Dream Yachts. They were professional and seemed focused on both our satisfaction and safety. Captain Sem was an experienced seaman and he and his small crew worked seamlessly to provide the best possible experience. We had several days at full sail and the Captain not only knew the waters and conditions, he flexed the itinerary to ensure we were seeing each mooring/anchor site at the best possible time considering tides, weather, and crowds. The result was outstanding snorkeling spots, great overnight moorings, and prime stops at low tourist intervals.

Our fellow passengers were a delight and the shared meal and deck time easy and comfortable. Our chef/concierge, Sai, created three meals each day that were professionally prepared and delicious, capitalizing on local, fresh ingredients and recipes. We all said it was like having your Thai grandmother (much younger) cook for you each day!

Our only caution is to understand before choosing this cruise that "boat life" in this part of Thailand in March is hot! While the cabins were spacious and daytime ocean breezes provided relief, the nights were at times uncomfortable for sleeping (you could cool down by sleeping "up top" deckside)! In the end, it was well worth it to suffer some hot nights leading up to spectacular scenery and sites during the day. It was a unique and preferred way to see the islands and beaches of this beautiful country. We wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

Exhumas week-long cruise: not worth the money

Exhumas Dream Premium; Dream Yatch Charter; Bali 5.4 (but booked on Lagoon 620); Captain Alex and chef Veronica. I sent this message as a complaint to the company a month ago but never got a reply.

While the locations were beautiful, the boat and crew had a number of issues, which is just not acceptable for a cruise this expensive.

Boat:
Maintenance: the boat was old and poorly maintained. The door of our bathroom was broken and couldn't close, bringing poor smells into the bedroom at all times. The electric plugs in the room didn't work.
Batteries/generator: The boat batteries were in such poor shape that it was necessary to keep the (very loud) generator on all night long, which would have made it impossible to sleep even with ear plugs. Only after other passengers complained, the captain agreed to shut it off 9pm-6am. However, given the state of the batteries, that meant having most electric features off, including the fresh water pumps.
Cushions: Nearly half of the outdoors cushions of the boat were missing, making it uncomfortable or severely limiting where we could sit.
Cleanliness: the outdoor parts of the boat were unclean most of the time, to the point that all passengers felt the need to start wearing flip flops (also wore by the captain occasionally). It was cleaned only once during the cruise, and we believe that was only because the crew saw us taking photos of the dirt on the deck.
Crew:
Chef: the chef was quite unhelpful often to the point of being rude. Examples include: (a) when we asked the captain for a second roll of toilet paper on the 6th day she whispered in a belittling tone "another one?!" (b) when we asked her for two missing glasses at dinner she reprimanded us for not bringing back all them from the last meal (the glasses were in full view in the cabin), (c) constantly questioned us, for instance why we needed sugar for yogurt or condiments for a salad.
Captain (return to port): on the last full day (24/1), the captain decided to start returning to port at 11am, citing poor weather building up en route. This meant we lost half a day of the 6 actual cruise days. Despite pointing out that latest weather forecast indicated that conditions were not worsening during the day (using the same app as the captain--Windy), the captain still decided to go ahead with this plan. Then he disappeared as soon as we landed. We suspect he actually had other things to do on land and that was the reason to cut the cruise short. The sister cruise (also Dream Yacht Charter to the Exhumas), on the other hand, had the full day and came back into the harbour around 8pm.
Captain (disappeared): The captain was nowhere to be found on the morning of disembarkation either, meaning that not only he didn't bid us farewell nor helped us with the luggage, which we all had to transfer ourselves, with a dangerous 1 meter gap between the boat and the pier.
Last minute change of boat: although the ad listed the Lagoon 620, in the small print they say they can also host it on a Bali 5.4 (20% smaller, for the same number of rooms). Of course, shortly before the cruise we were informed that the cruise would be on a Bali 5.4. They offered us to switch to the sister cruise on the Lagoon 620, but Globe Sailor (Ruby) told us that the only room left was not superior (as we booked) and that it was close to the generator. That was a major reason for not accepting the change. We later found out that this could not have been true since the two rooms closest to the generator on the Lagoon 620 are both superior rooms.

Overall this was far from a "Dream Premium" experience and definitely not worth the money. The opinion was shared by all passengers on board. If you look up "Dream Yatch Charter", the company that actually runs the cruise, you see the reviews are very poor.

As a charter agency, we facilitate bookings, while the cruise operator manages the boat, crew, and catering. We work only with reputable partners, including this leading catamaran cruise provider, but we understand your frustration when expectations aren’t met.
We’ve relayed your concerns to the operator to ensure they’re addressed thoroughly.

Regarding the boat and cabin allocation, as stated in your quote, the cruise could take place on an equivalent boat. The Bali 5.4 and Lagoon 620 were considered equivalent, and when you expressed a preference post-booking, we worked to be able to offer you a choice between the two.

You initially requested a cabin away from the generator, and we advised that superior cabins on the Bali 5.4 had the potential to be the furthest away. Since available cabins on the Lagoon 620 were closer to the generator, we highlighted this to help with your decision, along with the difference in bathroom layout and group composition, which we understood to be important to you. You then confirmed your preference for the Bali 5.4, so the cruise organisers allocated your cabin on that boat, and we requested a cabin far from the generator for you.

Unfortunately, your remaining feedback was shared after the cruise, limiting our ability to assist in real time. Had we known sooner, we would have tried to reallocate you again. That said, we promptly responded to your concerns, and Dream Yacht has confirmed that they have taken steps to address the points you raised about the boat, and offered monetary compensation as a goodwill resolution. We are currently processing this with you.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback, as we appreciate the chance to address it for continuous quality monitoring.
