Great experience
The experience has been great. I’m really enjoying both the material and the projects. It’s interesting, and the best part is that it’s very hands-on. The program covers a broad spectrum, so I’m learning many different aspects of the industry, which I love.
The more challenging part is the technical side; learning new programs and figuring out how to use them to complete projects. But when it comes to the actual interior design content, it’s been fantastic.

I would like more video material and more technical information. The modules do not contain all the symbols used in the industry. A little disappointing when one has to complete assignments.

We completely understand your comments regarding the need for more video content and more technical depth. We’re currently working on a full rewrite of this module, which is scheduled for release within the next month or so. While we realise this won’t directly benefit you now that you’ve completed the module, your feedback is incredibly valuable and is helping shape these improvements.
Regarding the symbols, this is something we approach very carefully. Industry symbols can vary quite significantly from country to country, which makes it challenging to include a single “universal” set that applies everywhere. For this reason, we always encourage our students to supplement their learning with additional local research to ensure they are aligned with industry standards in their specific region.
We really appreciate your input — it plays an important role in helping us improve the course for future students. Thank you for your feedback!

Study at your own pace
The most important advantage of this course for me is that it is self paced. I can complete the modules at my own time, whenever it suits my schedule. The modules are well designed and the assignments at the end of each module motivate me to improve and make my own research that will be useful in real interior design projects. So it is not just theory. I would definitely recommend this course for aspiring interior designers.

Practical & Purposeful
The Modules are really in depth & extensive, whether you have been in the industry already or completely new. The assignments are really good at using and applying knowledge learned - really well balanced. I would like to make a brief…
I would like to make a brief observation regarding the ability to differentiate between concepts. One detrimental aspect of the options is the lack of sufficient explanations, and in some parts, the explanations are inadequate, making it difficult to fully grasp certain concepts.
I hope this will be taken into consideration to improve the quality of educational content.

Increased my confidence, competence and appreciation
I appreciated the material in this course. I am self taught, read a lot and worked with other fellow designers and gained a lot of experience in these ways. However, taking this course has given me a lot more confidence, skills, tools and resources that I did not gain on my own. I discovered a lot more through the course. It makes me feel more prepared for the real world. In my opinion, self-control and self-motivation is vital to start and finish this course, a lot of reading is involved. It’s definitely within the reach of the average person to accomplish. Because of time and management I had to purchase another 12 months to finish it. My tutor has been great and responsive. This course is GREAT! It is a very practical hands on course with assignments that help you to prepare and hone your skills as you move through the course. It has space for creativity and self expression in design which is great as you figure out your own personal design style. The tutors are very helpful and there is access to a lot of extra workshops and Advanced Modules to help you gain more insight into different aspects of Interior Design.

I’ve had a really positive experience…
I’ve had a really positive experience with the Interior Design Institute. One of the biggest advantages is how affordable the course is compared to other options, which makes it accessible without compromising on quality.
Before enrolling, I actually signed up with another interior design course that was much more expensive and, unfortunately, very outdated. The materials felt old and didn’t reflect current trends or practices, which was really disappointing.
In contrast, the Interior Design Institute is up-to-date, with modern images, fresh concepts, and relevant content that reflects today’s design world. The course itself is easy to follow and well-structured, even for beginners. The lessons are clear and engaging, and I’ve genuinely learned a lot about interior design—from basic principles to more detailed concepts.
One thing I especially love is how much my confidence has grown using SketchUp—I genuinely feel like a bit of a whizz on it now, which is something I never expected before starting the course!
Another highlight is the support from the tutors. They are helpful, responsive, and provide constructive feedback that really helps you improve and stay motivated throughout the course.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Interior Design Institute to anyone looking to get started in interior design in a flexible, supportive, and budget-friendly way.
