The plumber who arrived was friendly and my problem was quickly pointed out and quickly and efficientaly solved

Booked an emergency service at 8am after being advised by the fire service we needed a plumber ASAP for a potential boiler leak affecting our building. Was told they’d be with us before 5. At 4:30 they cancelled and said they now wouldn’t be able to see us until Monday (today is Wednesday)

We’re now having to fork out for out of hours plumber. They didn’t seem to care there’s a ten month old baby that’s gone without heat all day.

Dave was very friendly and did an amazing job - arrived early and got the job done quickly. Highly recommend!

Quick response to my call and sending out a plumber. Steve explained about the rate and the one hour minimum. Steve was friendly and explained the problem and what would be best to do and what parts was needed and cost of them. Steve did a very good job which wasn't easy-going would recommend.

Not a very good outcome. First off very friendly made an appointment for me to come out on the 14th March at six o’clock. Late in the day they cancelled and although they were going to come out the following day I had to rebook for Monday 16th March. The plumber arrived and found the problem without any the tap straight away and fixed within 2 minutes. I thought I was going to pay £99 incl vat as it was within a half hour however I was told it was £198 as the charge was correct as it was for the first hour. I rang and explained what had happened and was met with no it’s correct if you want I can send you a recording of our conversation in which you agreed to this charge.I was also shocked that I had been recorded without knowing this. I was shocked as it was such a minor job. They subcontract the work out so I am not blaming the plumber. I have paid this bill but not overly happy with the outcome. Please be aware of the conditions before you agree to them coming out and ring a proper local plumber first.

A good job was done fitting a new kitchen sink - BUT £1100????

Very disappointed with the service provided. They sent somebody who services my area to me. My doorbell rang and when I opened the door I was asked if I accept the charges of £198.50 (inclusive of VAT) otherwise he is not allowed to step inside.
When he came inside I showed him the problem, he had a look and told me it was a massive job and would take 3 hours and he would need to break my bathroom tiles in order to fix, which would have meant I would have had to incur further cost for a tiler to fix the tiles after he was done.

Naturally I didn’t want to proceed , then he said he could manage to do the job in two hours. I still declined - the only thing he did was to turn off the water supply to toilet on the second floor. My leakage issue remains unfortunately.

The next day I contacted a different plumber and discussed the issue. This other plumber said there is no need to break the tiles it can be fixed without breaking the tiles.

So essentially, I parted with £198.50 for a call out only. This should have cost me approximately £50.00 pounds (which is what the second plumber I spoke to quoted me for a call out) and I should still have £148.50 in my pocket.

I called this company and relayed the above, told them the person they sent got their disgnostics/solution wrong and requested my funds back, but they did not have the decency to make this right for me by not even one pence.
I wanted to let others know of how they operate so you don’t get scammed. If the job is not super urgent, I recommend you get free quotes from other companies/tradesman directly, then choose. There are some top class tradesman there with plenty of reviews on the individual rather than the company.
In hindsight, the red flag was not stepping inside before making the £198.50 payment.

Price was too expensive! They charged me 369 + VAT for manually unblocking a drain that didn’t even took more than 30mins. The service was good but the way they priced the service was just bad. They are very shady with the pricing.

I booked The Local Plumbers after being told on the phone that there was no call-out charge and that the labour rate was £82.50 per half hour + VAT. An engineer attended to check an issue with my shower. Within a short time he confirmed there was nothing wrong and no repair work was needed. However, I was then invoiced for a full hour, despite the fact that the rate quoted during booking was half-hourly. At no point during the booking call was it made clear and emphsized that there was a mandatory 1-hour minimum charge regardless of how long the visit takes. In my view, presenting a half-hourly rate while applying a compulsory one-hour minimum that was not clearly explained upfront is misleading pricing. I have requested clarification and raised this as a formal complaint with the company. While I will settle the invoice to avoid unnecessary delays, I believe customers should be made fully aware of the true pricing structure before agreeing to a visit. Transparency matters when customers are making decisions about who to trust with work in their homes. I hope the company reviews how this is communicated to future customers.

Toilet problem. Came out within 3hrs. Tom the plumber sorted out the problem. We needed it sorting asap and it was. Ok there was a cost which in the circumstances was worth paying

Expensive and a bit misleading Company name Local plumbers but are only a company letting out work to a local contractor (no complaints with the plumber that attended) but the company seems to be charging London prices perhaps £82.50 per half hour with minimum of 1 hour to pay plus 20% VAT on top so minimum to pay is £198 for an hour which is a bit steep for certain jobs
