Professional staff, very knowledgeable about the sale process and the classic car market overall. Compared to another online based platform used previously, the customer experience with Bohams has been a first class example of how classic cars should be auctioned online.

My first auction and all the instructions I was given by Bonhams made the process very straightforward. I’m glad I decided to have the car taken to Abingdon rather than try and sell from home as this has markedly increased levels of interest and subsequently 30 bidders!

I decided to sell my 1974 Aston Martin V8 via The Bonhams Marketplace online auction website.
The experience was outstanding from start to finish.
After discussing my needs and setting out the plan of action for my car over the weeks prior to the auction starting.
Bonhams helped me find a transport company to ship my car to their facility in Oxfordshire which was far cheaper than any quote i could find.
Once there i signed up for the Concierge service, which consisted of a good valet professional photography and description. all through the process Bonhams were there at the end of the phone making sure everything was correct and accurate.
Once the auction had finished, they sorted everything out with the buyer and the proceeds were in my bank account within 24 hours.
Thanks to the presentation by Bonhams the price achieved was a fair bit in excess of what i was expecting, and the best bit is that there are no costs to the seller. Whatever the hammer price is. You get it all !!!!!!!!!!.
Would i recommend Bonhams. 100% i would, They are one of the biggest auction companies in the world and my experience with them tells me exactly why.

I had great advice from a very knowledgeable team who were happy to help at every step. A really good experience and a sale that I am happy with.

I am really disappointed with my purchase. The car was not in conditions I expected and described. I need to do a fully check-up of the bodycage because I discovered some failures. I sent an e-mail without any answers either solutions, poor experience !

I used the concierge service which was excellent. It made selling the car so easy. The work that was put into the listing including the photos and all the documents was outstanding.

Very easy process and was conducted in a timely manner ! The only 2 points I would like to point out is pictures taken of the interior should have more wide angled pictures showing the whole of the interior back and front ! And when the car is sold I think they should receive all the funds from the buyer and pay the seller direct not just take their commission and trust that the buyer will pay for the car when collecting which could lead to problems .

I purchased a Dolomite Sprint from here in January. The car was advertised as a 1980 UK produced and registered car. Shortly after purchase it was pointed out to me that the car had LHD wipers. After purchasing a Heritage Certificate and contacting some previous UK owners it turned out the car was in fact a 1978 French exported car. The car returned to the UK in 1980 and was converted to RHD rather poorly. The car was then re-sold by Bonhams as I was completely dissatisfied. It was sold by with an honest description this time and sold for a lot less than what I paid. Unfortunately I was left to stand the £5,000 + loss for my honesty. Don't rely on an HPI report and don't trust Bonhams, not even they do basic due diligence. The previous owner denies any knowledge even though he is no stranger to the marque, a specialist in other words. For anyone who is interested both the January 2023 sale and June 2023 can still be found on The Market by Bonhams website. Be warned!
Thank for your reply. The car was falsely advertised. It wasn't what you described. I re-sold the car with you for this reason as I felt there was no alternative. The car was then sold with a completely honest description and a full report from a specialist. I lost over £5k for being honest. Do Bonhams think that is fair and ethical?
