Maximising my potential

I came across the Online Running Coach just as my running performance risked flatlining or at least not making the progress that l was capable of.

I've now been working with Liam for around 6 months and the progress is already starting to show.

Not only are PB's across all distances dropping every time we target one, but l know I'm training with purpose and making the very most of my time and efforts.

Liam is fantastic to work with. I didn't think l would gain so much from the extra bit of accountability.

Onwards and upwards!

Great service

I struggled with running ever since I made the mistake of signing up for a race without training. It wasn’t my favourite way to exercise and I was very conscious about injuries that people get from running. I unfortunately like obstacle course racing and have started challenging myself to do longer distances and the runs would kill me.

Last year in July, a friend who also started using the online running coach highly recommended this to me and I have not looked back since. From the very start, despite everything done virtually, I have been very impressed with the professionalism and sleekness of the service. I have seen results and don’t detest running anymore. Knowing that I am given evidence based guidance for my training helped me have confidence and trust the process. My training programme is tailored to my needs and circumstances.

I am looking forward to what more can be achieved with training and highly recommend this service. Thanks for everything so far, Liam!

Highly recommend

Being very new to running and soon realised it’s not quite as easy as putting a pair of trainers on and just going for it, I was suffering from a string of injuries. I found Liam and the Online Running Coach and after a chat on the phone with him explaining what I’d like to achieve he took me onboard and wrote a tailored running and exercise plan for me, I also check in with him once a week and receive feedback and occasionally alters the plan depending on circumstances. I’ve only been with Liam for around 3 months and can already see improvements in my strength, fitness, endurance, confidence and my times are getting quicker all whilst remaining injury free. I’m currently training for my first marathon and really looking forward to see what we can achieve together.

Member of the Online Running Coach for 3 Years

I have been a member of the Online Running Coach for 3 Years and 6 years with my local Athletic Club which I enjoy taking part on all the events throughout the year to keep me going but what is so special about the Online Running Coach it is nice to have structured running advice. I was coached by Liam at first and now currently coached by Caroline where both have been extremely helpful throughout my whole time especially when I have picked up injuries, highs and lows of my running progress; it is nice they both care so much about my fitness level and to see my changes over the years slowly getting faster, running further and getting fitter. My dream is to see my name move up and up on that Leaderboard for all my race results.

The Online Running Coach keeps me motivated in every way and enjoy the different workouts every week. I always feel good in myself when I do them and nice to see the improvements showing in Strava.
My 5k and 10k's have improved and still progressing nicely even my Half Marathon time was a surprise to me last year so cheers to happy running and great results.

I recommend using Online Running Coach if you want to get fitter and improve on your running it is so nice to have a one to one if you think your running is not getting anywhere or to recover quickly on your injuries as they can take rather a long time heal. Also a boost of confidence in running those races you have put off for a long time.

Allows you to realise your running potential

I was a competent club runner before working with The Online Running Coach (2:50 marathon time), but was aware that without structured running advice, guidance and plans, I was never going to realise my potential. I’ve been working with Liam for over a year now, and it has changed my entire approach to running for the better.

You have to go into it with an open mind, and be willing to have your usual routines and habits (gently) disrupted. But if you do so, I can assure you that there will be massive benefits – I’ve hit new PBs at every distance from 5K to Marathon. But it’s not just about that – having someone monitoring your progress on a daily basis is incredibly informative, and having a friendly, knowledgeable and highly experienced coach to discuss running with on a regular basis has been transformational.

Running can be a lonely sport, and family / club mates don’t always want to know the ins and outs of all your niggles, or care if you're trying to shave 20secs off your 5K time. So having a coach who shares your passion and will discuss every aspect of the sport with you is hugely valuable. Plus, as they work with dozens of runners, The Online Running Coach has a great bird’s eye view on what works, and what doesn’t. It’s incredibly helpful when it comes to avoiding injury, but also – importantly – advising you on what to do when the inevitable injuries occur, why they occurred - and how to build back stronger. They genuinely care about their runners - and you'll be amazed how much of their advice carries over to other areas of life too.

If you want to see just how far you can take your running, then I couldn’t recommend The Online Running Coach enough. I can imagine that they would also work just as well for others newer to the sport, looking to transform their health – or run a marathon for the first time. It's well worth exploring whether this is for you.

I had been running for a long while but…

I had been running for a long while but with no real structure and no real goals. Teaming up with Liam changed all of that. We agreed on some goals, booked in some events and trained towards them. I was able to do my first 50K trail run in a time i was happy with!
I also got a lot of advice on things like nutrition, weight loss, injury prevention amongst other stuff. I am in my second year of training now and can*t imagine having to do this on my own now. :)

Ditch the daily treat and reap the running rewards

Ive been working on and off with Liam and his team for over 2 years now. Starting off improving 10k with a newborn and no sleep up to running my first marathon. Ive used a few of the services available 1 on 1 specific with personal feedback and evolving training plan only updates. I can say that whatever capacity Ive used the team they gave been fantastic. Ive noticed a difference when trying to use generic plans in between vs the more personal approach. I consider myself very self motivated but love the fact I have my month planned out for me with sessions I can trust and varied runs to avoid burnout and aid growth. Ive even had points where Ive had to alter my plan due to life or illness and the teams done it same day with recommendations. For the price of a costa coffee 5 days a week its a no brainer for me.

Liam - The Online Running Coach

With Liam's professional guidance and ongoing encouragement, since November 2022, I've progressed from occasionally running indoors on a treadmill to having completed two Marathon's.

This leap would not have been possible without a customised training plan, and one that continues to build my running knowledge, stamina, and confidence in a structured manner.

Communication with Liam has been great. We check-in with each other regularly, and when life throws curve balls into the mix, rescheduling exercises without much, if any, loss of momentum has been simple.

I'm on course to run another two Marathon's in 2024, possibly more, so based on my experience and progress in a relatively short space of time, I would not hesitate to recommend The Online Running Coach.

Highly recommended

Coming back from illness, I knew I needed help with my training. I was pushing myself too hard at running club and my times were getting worse.

After chatting to Liam about my goals, he understood and I liked what he was saying. I did the month trial and I could see straight away that his plan for me was going to work! I’ll never love interval work or strength training, but it’s on my plan, so I do it! I was surprised when the intervals started to get easier!

Working with Niamh, she learned quickly what I am capable of and how to help me improve. I did wonder if an online coach was going to work, but it really does. We are in constant contact and I love the detailed weekly feedback. Niamh studies my running statistics, listens to what I say and tweaks my plan. Although as an older runner (70), I’m never going to break any records, Niamh is helping me to become the best runner I can be. I am much fitter now than when I started (Strava agrees) and I’m running faster at lower effort. I’m now ready to book a 10K event and am excited about my running future!

All the difference in the world!

During a tough year physically and mentally my coach has had a huge impact on my pre and post operation recovery. I have been able to return to running in a good place mentally and ready for 2024. My coach has helped in so many ways - not just in running but in lifestyle and health changes. My diabetes is in remission and blood pressure lower and my fitness is growing each day!

Great results with my marathon training

I have spent around a year training with The Online Running Coach, having felt that I under-performed in my first ever attempt at a marathon. After signing up I worked with Lee who provided me with a custom training plan and regular feedback each week about progress and strategy.

Over the course of several months we worked together on all aspects of my running, leading up to me shaving off 37 minutes from my personal best marathon time and coming in 15 minutes faster than my target time of four hours. All this was despite a variety of setbacks along the way such as Achilles tendonitis and requirements of juggling shift work with a training program.

I credit The Online Running Coach with providing me with all the expertise and advice required to transform my running and get excellent results that exceeded what I'd thought possible. I'd happily recommend them to anyone wanting to improve their running or to recover after injury.
