I booked a week-long stay at Slate Scottsdale through JI:HAN Hospitality / Palacio Properties to visit my adult daughter. Upon arrival, the unit had an abhorrent mold and mildew odor that immediately triggered my daughter's severe allergies and asthma, preventing her from staying the week with me as intended and ruining the core purpose of my trip.
The apartment complex maintenance initially tried to simply spray paint over the active mold. When that failed, they ran industrial fans for days and cut away the bottom section of the sheetrock walls the day before checkout, leaving the structural mold completely exposed inside the living space. Throughout this ordeal, the corporate rental operator offered zero solutions. Worse, their corporate staff repeatedly disrupted us, culminating on our final night when JI:HAN Hospitality staff members walked straight into our locked unit completely unannounced without knocking. This company is a safety and health hazard. Avoid booking any of their listings.
