Overbilled and No Refund, Out of Business?
Similar experience some others. I subscribed and received records for awhile. Selection was good at first. A bit off the mark after that. And then the records stopped. Took me awhile to realize it. When I finally reached out, they claimed it was a technical error which was then resolved, but also claimed to have no stock. So they stopped billing me thankfully, but despite my request for a refund they never provided one. Website is down now. Guessing they've gone out of business. What a shame.
Potential scammers
I agree with previous post - the company are either incompetent or scammers. I paid over £100 for a three month subscription before Christmas. I did receive a package of three records that were absolute garbage (each of them were available for £5 on Amazon - they were clearly B stock runoff). I returned the records in February and have since been told the boss is too busy moving house to process my refund. They consistently ignore emails and are clearly struggling with the kick back from the fact they are failing to live up to their promises. It's a joke.
Have not received subscriptions and poor customer service
I signed up for a subscription as a gift for my partner's birthday. Four orders were generated and paid for, and no package has been received. I have received limited replies to customer service inquiries with many excuses and no resolutions. Then, silence when I requested a refund. Strongly recommend avoiding these folks, if it's not a scam then their business is dysfunctional and/or incompetent.

Bought as a one off gift for Christmas- 2 months since the initial purchase no records have been received. The tracking number provided is clearly not really linked to my order. They have responded to my email but with excuses that are not convincing in the slightest. Embarrassing to have given this as a gift to a family member. Avoid this company!!!
Waste of time...
I was patiently waiting for a pre-ordered record that had been sent out to customers on the release date by stores like Amazon and HMV. However, it wasn’t in stock at the retro store, and they kept reassuring me that it would be delivered to me. Unfortunately, the store hadn’t even received the record from the music label. As a result, I received a refund

Very very poor service
Worst online service I have ever known. As a monthly subscriber I always get money taken from my account before I’ve even received my last order !! And they don’t care enough to respond to queries or even ensure this doesn’t continue to happen !
SCAM
Appalling company. Paid for an annual subscription got two months and then nothing for months. Chased up and they had lost my details so after weeks of chasing got a catch up box. Then nothing for the last three months and told fully up to date with no indication that I'll ever receive what I paid for. SCAM AVOID

Pre-order service needs improvement.
I placed a pre-order for a release due on October 27th on October 3rd. I received no acknowledgement email after placing the order.
I waited for the release date, zero communication on the status of my order up until the day of release.
On October 28th I messaged support and received no response.
On October 30th I chased support and received the following response "not arrived yet, should have arrived Wed/Thurs last week, hopefully it will come soon"
Later on in the day I was informed it had arrived and it will be dispatched ASAP.
It arrived 4/5 days later.
Considering this is a pre-order service my expectation was that I would receive it within 2-3 days of release, and not a week after release!
Also as it is a pre-order I felt as though it would have been treated in the same way as a normal order and potentially I could have been waiting a lot longer had I not chased it up.
The service once I chased was very good however and I do appreciate it is a small operation.
The packaging was also poor given that it was a very expensive purchase, I would have expected it to be packaged so as to avoid damage. When received, the outer box was ripped and dented.
Therefore, my advice would be that if you are going to offer a pre-order service you need a dedicated team to manage these orders, as the whole point is to get these releases before they become widely available. I was able to order the same release off Amazon on the day of release and I received it the next day! It was also packaged far more securely and I had to sign for it.
Some improvement required and I am unlikely to use you again for expensive pre-ordered records.
Really Disappointing
Really, really poor. I've paid three times but received two orders. In those two orders I've received a duplicate album, and it's a dreadful one at that. I hadn't heard of the bands in the first box so gave the benefit of the doubt that they're focused on trying to introduce me to new things. But in the second box one of the albums was Gary Barlow's Dream of Christmas?!?!? My 3 categories were Heavy Metal, Rock and Modern Pop. How is an ageing man's 2021 xmas album modern pop?!? And how could they possibly curate my 3 preferences to somehow conclude I'd want a Gary Barlow album? Every other choice they've made has been awful too, clearly just unwanted albums they can't sell. My subscription number was #116123 if they read this. So incredibly disappointing.
Good Comms, Smooth Delivery on a PreOrder
Preordered a new album via The Retro, comms were good and the item arrived on time and in great condition.

Very disappointing experience. I placed an order on July 31st. Didn't get a confirmation email (sometimes happens so didn't think anything of it.) I contacted them on the 15th August and they replied it hasn't been shipped but due to be shipped. 10 days later still nothing. I contacted again. They told me it was finally shipped as the copy of the record I ordered went missing so they had to find another copy. I was like ok no problem. Fast forward to Sepetember 22nd still no record. I've contacted them for a refund no reply. Very bad communication and will not be ordering from them again. Which is a shame as the subscription service looked like a cool concept. At the point I just want a refund. Or at least a reply to my emails
Scam company, do not buy
It's now been over 2 months since my initial exchange with this 'company' (see previous review) where they refused to fulfil a cancellation for me, despite me being entitled to this under consumer rights and requesting the cancellation in good time.
2 months after returning the parceI I already told them I didn't want in very good time for a cancellation, I am still yet to receive my refund or any email response from the store.
I cannot reiterate what I said in my last review enough, avoid this store at all costs. I'm now out £40 on an order I tried to cancel back in March and have wasted so much time going back and forth and chasing them over email to resolve what is an incredibly simple request. There has been no refund, no communication and the only 'service' I've had is them denying me a cancellation to protect their cashflow. Im now wasting my time chasing them yet again for a refund or even acknlowedgment of an order I returned 2 months ago. Useless operation, and completely none-existant customer service. How these two guys thought setting up a company was something they were capable of I've no idea.

Cancellations are refused, emails ignored, very poor customer service - AVOID
Really poor experience with this store. Refused to cancel a pre-order despite this being common practice and a consumer right as the order had not yet shipped. I requested the cancellation in good time however they beat around the bush over email for several days until the order was shipped and then, of course, could no longer do anything about it.
My experience was a big waste of time. Flashy gifs in emails and quirky copywriting can't make up for a complete lack of customer care and knowledge.

I want to start by emphasizing this is a very small business, and it’s important to realize you will have to wait longer for responses from the two owners than you would a huge company. They are trying extremely hard to accommodate all their customers.
However, if you can be patient and understanding and try to remind them when necessary—these two guys will deliver exactly what they promised.
They helped correct a mistake in the order and eventually sent out my record without a subscription as I had meant to place the order. They were friendly to the end.
I decided to give them five stars because they paid my shipping costs due to the delays. That was very generous of a small company, so I know they mean to do the best they can. I used to have a small online business, and I know it can be tough at times. The bottom line is these guys will deliver with a bit of a delay, but when you do get your records you won’t be disappointed. Please just be patient and keep in communication with them. They will do what they promised. Please keep this in mind when making your order. They are a two man show, so just know it will be a longer process but worth it in the end.

Would be great to give feedback on my wax, but yet again has not arrived and what’s the point in the tracking number when it says no information can be given until a delivery attempt is made. Absolutely pointless. Give this company a miss. Problem after problem I’ve had from them since joining them.
