I wrote a review of an appealing meal we had at rockfish brixham 24th April 2025.
11 months later rockfish exmouth replied complaining to trust pilot that they thought my complaint wasn’t about them.
They are correct it was rockfish brixham I reviewed.
So 11 months after the event a response from the rong restaurant.
But never any responce from rockfish brixham.
Absolutely appalling I will never go to nay of there establishments again

We had booked a table for two a wedding anniversary celebration. But left feeling completely under deflated. The staff were lovely, helpful and understanding, and appeared to be in agreement with our view. The starters were fine through small, these had to be some of the smallest oysters from the sea! For the main we ordered the platter for two people (£70). When this arrived we were almost expecting to see a second platter, it was a little more than enough for one but not enough for two, and looked extremely lacking, in its taste it did deliver. It looked like it was lacking grandeur and definitely not a show stopper. Don't get me wrong, the taste and freshness won through, only the whole dish needs to be raised up. Overpriced for what was served to the table. Thumbs up to the table server, a star.

Well where do I start first time going to rockfish in Plymouth I am disabled and as soon as me and my mum arrived today for Mother’s Day it’s was more than wat I thought it would be the waitress and staff were absolutely fabulous helped me and mum to our table and they gave us time so we could look at the menu and then this lovely lady came over and explained the catch of the morning so wat was caught that morning which was amazing then she took our drinks order and while she did that we chose wat we wanted for starters and mains the quality of the fish was absolutely superb very delicious I even tried fish that I had never had before and my mum the same absolutely amazing prices with every bit I spent absolutely amazing experience with definitely be going back again thank you all so much for a wonderful first visit superb hospitality and service **************** more than 5* in my view love love love xxxxxxxx

My starter was overpriced,Ive never had such bad calamari, tiny pieces and tasteless.
I had a very small portion of battered fish that was ok,the chips were awful very tiny and very small portions.Mushy peas were nuked and for £3:50 a portion it was laughable.
Nearly £30 for nothing special!!
The staff are knowledgeable but not attentive as we had to ask for the drinks menu twice.
My wife had the chowder and enjoyed it.
Hopefully the other restaurants in your chain are different to Weymouth.
Overall a normal chip shop with tourist prices.

Weymouth Restaurant We had an absolutely top-notch meal here for my partner’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, the greeting was so warm and welcoming, with birthday wishes offered straight away. There was a lovely birthday message waiting on the table, along with a complimentary glass of our choice, which was such a thoughtful touch.

The ambience was wonderful, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the level of service was exceptional. Everyone clearly knew the menu inside out and delivered food and drinks with true professionalism. As for the food, it was completely off the charts, absolutely delicious.

Thank you so much to everyone involved. I had all your names written down but sadly misplaced the paper. To everyone who worked on 16/01/2026, thank you so much. xx

Always go for the hake at this place. Can't go wrong! Decent prices and good quality.

Rockfish Weymouth. The experience when walking in wasn’t great, empty restaurant and apparently the table we wanted was booked !!! The food was at best average and for mains and a drink for £72 it was overpriced. Waitress didn’t serve extra portion of ships as ordered and left feeling hard done by. Wouldn’t frequent this chain again

Great food and great staff. Everything was fresh and tasted great. Even though the restaurant was full we were well looked after and did not have to wait too long for anything. Great views across the harbour, reminds me of when I was a young boy and my Dad was a trawlerman in Brixham. I always eat here when I visit Brixham. Prices are a little expensive but the whole economy has taken a hit with inflation and constant tax rises, it is to be expected. Nearly forgot to mention the cockles - delicious!

Lovely chips and haddock alright but portion size really small for price. We had takeout.

The ray wing not only smelt heavily of ammonia (which I appreciate can happen with ray, although surely not heavily) but it tasted so heavily of ammonia that it was inedible. The staff offered to replace it - brownie points all round - but the replacement fish also stank of ammonia (probably the same fish). The chef denied it smelled of ammonia - really!. The staff at Lyme Regis weren't talking to a bunch of tourists who'd never visit again but a table of locals. Bad idea.

Having eaten at the Seahorse a few times in the past, I was delighted to find that the company had started an online fresh fish delivery service, especially as we live in the Chilterns which is just about as far from the coast as one can live.
Superb hand-dived scallops, the best we've had, sweet and juicy with no surrounding liquid waste and no grit. Other fish delights we haven't tried yet, all beautifully packed in a returnable recyclable box and delivered the day after ordering. Impeccable green credentials. Will definitely be using this company more in the future.
Excellent customer service with prompt replies to my emails, not always the case with others I've tried.
I note that other restaurant reviewers have complained about the prices charged and all I can say is you get what you pay for.

Rockfish Torquay, what a rip off,2 plates of sardines and chips £22.95 each 1 bread roll £3.95 ,won't be going back or recommending

Lyme: Visited in June - no issue with service. July a different matter entirely. Yes it was an evening but same staff so not sure why they felt a complete lack of motivation was appropriate. As for the business model, I'm not buying the sustainability/local spin entirely. The prawns may be "Sustainably caught in Northern Australia" but getting them to the UK, I doubt it. As for wines, only two are English (Sussex) asked for a bottle of their own label sparkling, some time later to be told out of stock, lost £58 sale there. Plenty of French, Portuguese, Spanish of course. How can a restaurant runout of own label wine. it's not that it goes off.
"Tomorrows fish is still in the sea" "sending it to our seafood restaurants each day before lunch" "daily landed" "This will be led by what has been landed by the fleet in Brixham that morning" really? When was Saturdays Sundays and Mondays fish caught? Is it really as portrayed?
On the plus side, they agreed to remove the wine and coffee we never did receive but was on the bill and knocked 10% off - not at our request, we would rather have had good service.

This is my fourth or fifth online order from this company and it is consistently the best online seafood company ever. The fish is wonderfully fresh and beautifully packaged, just perfect in every way. It's not cheap but is well worth the cost to get the best fish around. Well done chaps, keep up the good work

As an OAP with limited funds and an ardent fish lover, I would highly recommend Rockfish as a supplier. I ordered sardines and hake which was excellent thoroughly fresh and made a wonderful meal. The crab had a distinctive metallic taste but wasn’t Inedible. The most important thing for me was the £18 spend, which suited me perfectly, on most fish sites you have to spend a minimum of of at least £50. DPD delivery was excellent too and the packaging great.

We ate at rock fish yesterday, the meals we had were lovely, well cooked and the fish was very fresh. The waiters Hayley, Shan and Freya were most helpful and very friendly. It was a pleasure to eat there.

My friend & I visited Rockfish in Exmouth last Thursday. We went then, particularly because it is ‘mussel month’ Steve, one of the managers explained this, when I went in earlier to ask about it. He went out of his way to be so helpful, giving me a card so I could easily book. My friend & I absolutely love local mussels & fish. We have eaten there before. We chose the traditional Fisherman's mussels to share, which was delicious, accompanied by a glass of good Portuguese white wine to compliment it, advised by Emma our waitress, who was lovely throughout our stay, & was also training a new recruit. We followed the mussels, with the red mullet to share. This dish was also of an extremely high standard, beautifully presented & cooked to perfection. The limitless chips were very crispy & welcome. During & after our meal we spoke with Jess, the manager, who was helping out in the kitchen, & also met & complimented the chef who had cooked our meal. The atmosphere warm & cosy with fires on as it was a stormy day. We sat by the window, which was nice too, even tho it was raining. The staff were all so person centred & friendly, but very professional too, advising us both on what was on offer that day. Our visit to Rockfish Exmouth was a very enjoyable experience. Beautiful fresh and frozen fish! Had 3 deliveries now , the freshest tastiest fish and other seafood we have ever had. Will never buy supermarket fish again .

The sardines were tasteless, laid in oil and tiny! The new potatoes were watery and had been sat in water for ages. There was nothing else with it for £26!
This is the 2nd time I've been, 1st time was a couple of years ago and it was awful. Thought I'd try again and maybe things would have improved, but no.
Total waste of money and time.

Very pleased with today’s visit to Exmouth Rock Fish . We’re regulars at Exeter & we’ve been considering Exmouth our local for ages . Had a friend stay & booked on the terrace . Wanted a window table & Steven the Manager was going to move us , however we were settled in our table . Jason & a young lady looked after us really well . I’ve run restaurants & hotels my whole career so was nervous it might not be great. However it was so relaxed on the terrace, totally different to Exeter restaurant. I preferred it to be honest, relaxed , sea views great service & great food. I can be prickly but Steven was an amazing host & was aware of our needs & expectations. We loved it & had Sardines as starters , super 😍then Fritto Misto first class , after being in Ibiza & Puglia the last few months. Clean oil fresh batter, best yet.
Happy to praise my local Rock dish restaurant. Better than expected. Roll on Topsham & Sidmouth opening..
