Beautiful Scents, But Pricey for the Performance

I recently ordered the Saltworks Discovery Set and I have mixed feelings. On the positive side, the fragrances themselves are lovely. I’ve tried four so far and liked every single one of them, which is rare for a discovery set. They are unique, well-blended, and I actually found that they layer together beautifully, allowing for a custom scent profile.
However, there are two main drawbacks for me: longevity and price.

Performance: While the smells are great, they aren’t quite as strong or as high-end designer or niche perfumes.

The Cost Gap: Because I love layering them, I’d ideally want a few different scents. However, I can only afford one full-sized bottle, and the travel-sized vials feel significantly overpriced for the amount of juice you actually get.

The Verdict: If you find one "holy grail" scent you love, the big bottle might be worth it with the £25 discount voucher included in the set. But if you're like me and enjoy variety or layering, the high cost of the smaller sizes makes it a difficult hobby to maintain on a budget.

Had been looking for something…

Had been looking for something different in the perfume department and fell for the saltworks ads on instagram. Beautifully packaged just a shame the perfume wasn’t as good. I’m not sure which discovery pack I ordered, but contained Lady Marmalade and Brown Sugar that everyone raves about. Honestly so disappointed. I gave my husband 3 of the sprays. 100% aftershave to both myself and my husband. Few of the others had too much rose. Reminded me of my grandmother who would have been 91 this year had she still been alive. Just awful aromas that didn’t particularly last very long. Lady marmalade was my favourite but must admit, it was just choosing the best of a bad bunch. It lasted about 4 hours. Unfortunately I’m still searching for that elusive signature perfume.

My sample box arrived today and I am already absolutely delighted with the range and longevity of the scents. I had a slight issue which was resolved immediately by Joanna. Would highly recommend and I will be using the voucher to buy a full size bottle

Was very excited to receive my order…

Was very excited to receive my order of the discovery set, including two extra free samples (honeyberry and kamitonka) after seeing the ads on social media. I quickly realised within a few days there was nothing to be excited about and wish I had checked Trust Pilot reviews prior to ordering. Absolutely no staying power with most smells disappearing within an hour which to be fair is no bad thing with most of the samples as they do not smell any where near as nice as how they are marketed. I will not be wasting anymore money with this company.

Disappointing..…

Bought the discovery set after reading glowing reviews on Facebook. On me however the sample scents are not strong and don't last 5 minutes. I find the whole set a complete waste of money. Asked for a refund but no, they don't offer those if you are dissatisfied.

Amazing scents that always get a compliment

Amazing scents that I find are subtle but have incredible lasting power. Unique and different, I always get compliments when wearing a scent by Saltworks. I love that is it vegan as well as cruelty free. This is important to me in the products I use. I love the woody and the floral range but will try the fruity ones in the summer. The travel size 10ml are a great way to try different perfumes. Would recommend.

Have just tried Honeyberry (as had a free sample) and it is amazing! Has so many levels - its warm and exotic, smells luxurious and reminds me of spa days (not in a eucalyptus way, but an expensive way!) Also reminds me of wondering around the malls of Dubia. Love it and will be ordering more xxx

TOO MANY EMAILS DAILY

The amount of emails this company sends out if you purchase one of their products is unbelievable and unacceptable. They send at least two every day you asked to unsubscribe and it gets ignored. I had to email to be unsubscribed but all I did was go into their website on Friday to show my friend the perfume I was wearing and the emails have started up again without me even agreeing to receive them. I woke up this morning and they had emailed me twice since last night once at 12:15 the other this morning and now I’ve had to email again this level of marketing is unbelievable and unlike any other company I’ve ever experienced but the lack of customer service in dealing with this when you unsubscribe and it gets ignored and you’re forced to then have to email is unacceptable. Somebody needs to look at the marketing here.

Im in love with these beautiful perfumes.

I am compelled to write a review for this company as I'm absolutely bowled over by the gorgeous scents. The grace and sincere with which they are shared and presented. I feel such a journey through not only the nuances of each layer through the unfolding journey of ingredients that affect my senses so delightfully. Conjuring emotion, vision and a dreamlike quality of experience that pervades my senses. Im in love with SaltWorks and highly recommend you give yourself or as a gift to someone else, (which was how I discovered them, as I was given this set at Christmas), and enjoy being transported, to an extraordinary sabbatical from mundane. Its like a smell vacation. Im a total fan!

Converted fragrance lover

I was introduced to Saltworks through my mother-in-law, who gave me some perfume samples. I’m not massively into fragrance, but the scents were so good that I decided to order the Gifting Experience.

The box arrived beautifully presented and wrapped ready to give as a gift. Inside were a range of samples covering their most popular scents, which made it easy to find several that I really enjoyed wearing. The set also includes a £100 gift card, and since the Gifting Experience costs around £85, it actually worked out cheaper to buy this first and then purchase a full-size perfume afterwards. They even sent me a travel size version of the same scent free of charge which was a lovely surprise.

Once I chose my perfume, it arrived nicely presented and has since become one of my go-to scents. I’ve also received some of their reed diffusers as a gift — they smell lovely, though I haven’t used them yet.

The only downside is their marketing emails. The frequency is overwhelming, which is a shame because they do run genuinely good promotions and interesting sample offers. I ended up unsubscribing because it was too much & felt aggressive.

Overall, the products are excellent and the Gifting Experience is a really thoughtful and innovative concept. I’d love to see more physical stores closer to London or more flexible, affordable sample options, since not all their perfumes are available in the discovery sets.

Excellent customer service

I ordered both the women and men’s discovery boxes, I can’t vouch for how they smell as they are Christmas presents but the women’s box was damaged, by the post office. I contacted Saltworks and they very kindly offered to send a return label and to replace the set. I asked if they could just send a replacement box so I could transfer the contents (which were undamaged) as it’s so close to Christmas. Izzie in customer service went above and beyond and I have now received the replacement box with a new ribbon well packed and completely undamaged and free of charge. I would definitely recommend this company if only for the excellent customer service.

I'm sad to say I think I have been…

I'm sad to say I think I have been conned. I bought the discovery box a few months ago and was thrilled, loved the perfumes and after much deliberation decided that Brown Sugar was the one for me. I loved how the smell lingered on my skin and clothes and my husband commented on how he could still smell it when I left the room. So I bought the full size. What a disappointment. Barely any smell, what there is disappears in minutes. This morning I used 3 sprays on my skin and clothes. Half an hour later there is nothing...I can only assume the discovery packs are the 'real' perfume to suck you in to buying the big watered down version. Bitterly disappointed in this company and won't be re-purchasing

This is a completely honest review from…

This is a completely honest review from someone who is obsessed with perfume.
And also fairly knowledgeable about it.
So these fragrances can come across quite harsh for some people, and that’s because they are strong (high percentage of perfume ingredients).
So firstly the marketing is very in your face, if you click on anything from Saltworks it will just keep on popping up, and in your emails and WhatsApp too.
I have a huge collection of top tier perfumes.
But the marketing got to me and I had to try them.
I absolutely love some of these, especially Bambooshka , Surfari and L’eau Tropicale. I have tried to not love them but I can’t resist.
They are powerful, and delicious. They last for ages. But - they are not sophisticated fragrances, in the way that they kind of all have a similar DNA , and don’t have much nuance or layering.
If you want something fabulous to make you feel good, then they are wonderful for that. They are very mood boosting!
But just don’t expect them to perform in the same way that high end perfumes do, because they are not. I feel like these perfumes were created by someone who loves fragrance, and how it can make you feel, but hasn’t been educated or trained in the process of making them. I hope that makes sense, and it’s meant in the best possible way. I don’t know how else to describe.
Also , when you buy travel sizes, they just get put in a Jiffy bag with no extra fanfare. I’ve bought 7 now and it’s a shame because I feel like they deserve some nice unwrapping experience too as well as the full size ; although of course it’s more eco friendly to have none.
I still want many more of these and I hope to get them when the next discount code comes up.

Gorgeous perfumes that last for ages

Gorgeous perfumes that last for ages. They aren't cheap but it's absolutely worth the investment if smelling amazing is what you desire. All the perfumes I've smelled have been really lovely. I struggled to pick a favourite from the discovery set I bought. Every one was multi layered and beautifully balanced. The packaging is also lovely.
The full size bottle has a very pleasing weight to it with a magnetic function on the cap that is very satisfying. I was able to get an amazing deal on Black Friday. I paid just over £60 for a full sized bottle of Lovestory, a travel size of Lovestory and a travel size of L'Orangerie. An absolute bargain. Very happy, will definitely buy from this company again.

Great company, highly recommend

Great company! I have 3 of their perfumes and the are great. When one took a little longer than expected to come i emailed them and they responded very quickly to explain that they had been overwhelmed with orders and so run out of bottles. They then gave me a date they expected to be able to ship. They were very easy to deal with and very responsive. Great customer service.

Fabulous fragrance. Im not keen on traditional fragrance so getting a sample set suited me well and I found a couple I loved enough to buy full size. Will definitely buy again. I love the guest soaps too
