I have thoroughly enjoyed the complete guide to photography course, it’s been so easy to understand and follow compared to other courses I had tried & got lost in. The tutorials are clear and the lesson downloads with the prompts on have been so helpful. I can’t wait to continue with the other courses.
Joining the membership has also helped with my confidence, the group of members are so helpful and it’s great to see others work and take on things. All in all great value for money!

Hi Marc, just wanted to drop you a note about your Lightroom Course. I have had the software for a couple of years and fiddled about with varying results. Having completed the course with only a few add-ons to do has taken my photography to another level. Your course is so well constructed and delivered. Found it very easy to follow and achieved some fantastic results I can’t thank you enough it’s given a new lease of life for my photography.

Over the years I have completed a lot of different courses. This course ranks amongst the very best because it was fun to complete, the topics were explained concisely, and were easy to understand and work through. I think the course has given me a strong foundation upon which to build and become a proficient photographer!

Great value and professional teaching from Marc. Thoroughly recommend the photography and lightroom courses. I will be starting the Photoshop course soon.

TSOP The school of photography course is a comprehensive introdution to photography and post processing. I really enjoyed learning online with Marc Newton (Tutor) brilliantly presented and well produced video tutorials, assignments and 'quizzes'. If you are interested in photography and would like to further your knowledge I would highly recommend this course.

The school of Photography is a great site with an abundance of learning material to make yourself become a fairly decent photographer.
The courses are well laid out and Marc explains things very well at a very good pace with lots of humour thrown in.
I started off by buying The Complete Guide to Photography Book and then went on to do the actual online course, from which I've learned loads.
I've now moved onto Lightroom and I've struggled learning LR till I stumbled on Marc's tutorial which is brilliant and what I like most is that it's all explained in simple terms with hands on videos.
So far so good and I hope to get around and do some more tutorials.

The best bits are Marc's genuine passion and enthusiasm for photography.
The way he explains things in simple terms so that you can understand and educate yourself.
The tutorial videos are well laid out and enjoyable and you certainly never get bored watching them.
I also really enjoy the Q&A sessions on youtube.

Don't hesitate joining the School of Photography, just do it and you will never look back.

Best photography courses around. The emails, Twitter etc help to make you feel you are part of a community. Wouldn't go anywhere else for my photography knowledge.

Excellent communication, brilliant courses, easy to follow and understand. Top quality materials, nice there is the occasional freebie.

Firstly I think what The School of Photography offers is outstanding value for money and affordable to everyone.  Secondly, the courses are very informative and easy to follow and the fact that there are no time restraints means that you can learn at your own pace. Thirdly, your style of teaching is down to earth and easy to follow. Fourthly, the fact that you can access the videos even after completing the courses to refresh newly acquired knowledge is a bonus.
The best bits have got to be the price to subscribe and learn, oh, and the fact that you remain current with the latest versions of the ADOBE software is fantastic.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

If you want to learn photography properly. You found the right place. If you think it is to expensive, believe me it is not. Instead of investing in a new lens are some new camera gear. Spend it on joining the School of Photography instead. A new lens won't improve your photography but this will. 10 out of 10.

Like most amateur photographers I regularly troll the Internet looking for inspiration, guidance and techniques. Since discovering TSOP I have reduced my level of internet searches most of my wants are being satisfied with TSOP. As a member of this organisation you cannot help but grow in confidence and skills delivered in a relaxed an informal way.

I have worked my way through the Beginners course and have loved it. What’s been great is that if something has gone wrong with a photograph, or I can’t get the image I’m looking for, I’ve been able to go back to the course and refresh my learning to see where I’m going wrong.
The teaching is done in a simple and clear way. I can’t believe I have managed to learn so much and retain the information. I think that’s down to the way it’s taught.
I love the Q and A sessions, even though sometimes I don’t understand the questions😅! I still listen to the answers!
I am in my mid 60s and have, like many, been in lockdown. This has been a wonderful distraction. It has encouraged me to go for long and varied walks, with m camera and look at my surroundings in a new way! My camera goes with me, my handbag stays at home now!
I think I’d like to understand more about kit. What makes a good camera, lens etc. I am amazed at the price range! So it would be good to know what’s value for money and what’s worth buying.

Brilliantly thought out courses that are easy to follow. Plenty to learn for photographers of all abilities. Marc has a very clear teaching style which is very enjoyable to follow. Highly recommended.

I am very pleased with the experience of online learning with
TSOP. I found the course to be interesting and motivational.
Although I am familiar with photography basics...I still found that I
learned a lot and am very grateful for the experience.

The content was laid out clearly and concisely and in a very
engaging manner. Marc is quite knowledgeable about photography and
about teaching also. That certainly comes through in the simple
explanations of some complicated issues and with the encouraging style
that Marc uses, as well as with his sense of humor. The lessons were
designed to be progressive and to build on knowledge and skills
acquired in previous lessons. The task sheets were clear and the
assignments were useful to practice what was learned in the online
lessons.

Marc and The School of Photography, provide clear and concise video instruction. The best online instruction out there for beginners, amateur’s and pros. I am a professional adult trainer for a large corporation. I have viewed many online learning platforms, The School of Photography is the closest you will get to one on one instruction.
From the beginning learning approach, I am not very patient when it comes to instruction, the short videos with time to assigned to practice skills is ideal.

I have loved the School of Photography and the way you approach when teaching,

1 I find your way of you talking to us and not at us is a big plus,
(believe me I have met some people who do just that over the
years) You feel you want to go further onwards to the next lesson

2 You can go back and back till you have got the point.

3 Some of us take a bit longer to grasp. (Used to writing things down
and not always getting it first from screen. Oldie)


Your book arrives at 6:30 last night. Burt the midnight hour - well a bit further reading some of it. Just what I expected it to be, so readable.

I have had a general interest in photography for a while and with the purchase of a new camera I thought it was time that I should get some training on how to use my camera properly.
I found The School of Photography on google .
I saw that they do a basic photography course and also Lightroom and photoshop courses .
So I signed up and it has improved my photography.
Marc the instructor guides you through each stage and explains everything in clear and simply terms .
I would recommend The School of Photography to any one who wants to improve and enjoy there photography

I have just completed the Photoshop Course with the school of photography. Marc has taken this very complex Adobe package and broken it down into bite size chunks. This along with the sample files, which he uses in the topic, and handouts really drives home the learning. Marc assumes no prior knowledge and so this is a great course for any beginner using photoshop. In each lesson he starts from the basics and builds from there. I highly recommend this course to all levels and ability, and is the best course or reading that I have seen on this Adobe software.
I now feel completely confident in using Photoshop to edit my pictures.

The School of Photography has exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to learn more! Marc Newton and The School of Photography do an excellent job teaching content in a practical, straightforward way. I was previously using Lightroom after taking a different online course, but I always knew there was much more to the software than what I learned. After taking Marc’s Lightroom course, I have been able to reorganize my photos in a more effective way, saving me time and confusion! I have also learned how to really bring out the features of my photos and a lot of other invaluable functions of Lightroom. I’m currently enrolled in Photoshop, which was previously quite intimidating. Marc’s method of teaching demonstrates everything from the ground up, making learning a success as well as helping me better understand photography and the photography software. The tutorials and monthly assignments are perfect to “prompt” me to take different types of photos than I usually take, which helps me think more creatively! If you’re looking for a place to learn photography or grow as a photographer, as well as a friendly photography community, The School of Photography is for you!

I have had such great experience with TSOP over the past 6 months and cannot recomend it enough to anyone who is looking to start Photography. I recently completed the 4 day Photography course which was carried out on a Saturday over the course of 4 weeks.The course was carried out with Marc who taught things in a very well structured way and made the classes very enjoyable. Marc was very friendly and always had a smile on his face. The others who attended the course were very friendly too. After completing the 4 day course I can safely say that I will never use Automatic mode on my camera again. I also now know what everything on my camera does and now know how to use my camera to the maximum.

I am also signed up to TSOP videos where I have learned to use Photoshop and Lightroom. The video's are great and again, very well structured. Photoshop and Lightroom can both be very difficult software to use but the video's cover everything you will need to know.

Overall, I have had a fantastic experience learning Photography with TSOP and would like to thank Marc and his team for helping me on my journey to hopefully becoming a Pro Photographer one day!

As an over the road truck driver I spend a lot of time behind the wheel. With TSOP I'm able to build my photography skills at my convenience. I can watch videos when I'm able to or rewatch them as needed. Marc does a wonderful job explaining things during the lessons to where it's easy to understand & you can follow along as he goes. I love the monthly assignments as well. 👍👍👍
