Aseannow…

The forum side of the business has taken to posting articles that are obviously misleading and lead to spreading misinformation, causing confusion and creating anti Thai sentiment.
A recent article on alcohol consumption failed to address the extensions available to some establishments and only addressed the standard hours. When posted on Facebook the article generated over 400 derogatory comments against the Thai authorities, as well as several pages on the members area. In the members area the management suppress any attempt to highlight failings in the article.
It is inexcusable for a business operating in Thailand to promote anti Thai sentiment.

Thaiger Forums Host Hate Speech

Thaiger is not a professional news organization. The website uses news from other sources that it edits or copies and pastes. It has never denied this and is open that it is a media platform upon which it sells or offers services of advertisers. It also hosts an open forum. Some parts which are the most offensive and questionable are open only to Forum Members, obtained by signing up. Unfortunately, the forum is dominated by neo nazis, racists, the mentally ill and others who promote false information. It has a section dedicated to vaccine conspiracies where a select group post false information on vaccines and false allegations like international plots to genetically modify people. Another section promotes the conspiracy claims of Trump supporters. There is also a section on the Russian invasion of Ukraine which is heavily weighted to providing Russian claims and information. Advertisers should ask themselves if they wish to be associated with such an entity. Consumers should ask themselves if this is a trustworthy site if it is so closely associated with unreliable claims.

plagrized

Very many of there articles were plagrized from other sites never giving credit and or using chatgpt 3.5. as the quality is so lo i dont think even they can afford chatgpt 4.0. i can tell as if you read many there articles they all have the same structure and even use the same words. and at the end there is always this let this be a cautionary tale to you foreigners in thailand. about the most non event of rule breaking.

i also suspect the thai gov is giving them money for there propaganda campaign that foreigners bad bad bad they are why thailand has huge issues now and thais good good good.

Thaiger

Thaiger, in many cases, simply opines and pastes articles, as it gleams them from the world presses without sighting sources; plagiarism at its finest.

Nasty forum

Good in parts, makes an excellent effort in the news and you tube outputs with competent presenters and good opinions from Tim.
The forum is another matter, ruined by pedantic moderators obsessed with pointless and endless rules, some colonial, eg no Thai to be used, on a Thai forum- as the mods cannot understand it. Nasty, vindictive atmosphere where posters are routinely bullied, warned and banned by mods. You may like it if your interests are beer, football, sleazy nightlife and you do not have any opinions, then you will fit in.

Great Local Phuket News

I read an article or two from The Thaiger every day. Even have the app on my phone to keep updated on the go. Good mix of local Phuket news, important regional and overall Thailand news, plus some fun entertainment-type news thrown in for balance. Like these guys a lot!
