Used to be good

This building is leased from the National Trust and the cafe business has recently changed hands. Experience wasn’t great as the owner / manager made his presence known by being loud and gregarious. The food has taken a turn for the worse……..if you’re with the kids, order a bacon sandwich and you could play a fun game of spot the bacon.

Fantastic cuisine

Fantastic cuisine, outstanding service, and excellent prices! We'll return shortly. We've enjoyed a prearranged afternoon tea and, on another occasion, some baked treats. Everything was scrumptious. Much appreciated!

Such a delightful tearoom with very friendly, welcoming staff.
Excellent coffee, cake, lunches and breakfasts, especially the excellent bacon rolls which will keep you coming back for more.
Our favourite tearooms to have coffee in Kent.

The Tulip Tree is a gem of a Tea Room

The Tulip Tree is a gem of a Tea Room! We arrived right at the end of the day after a long circular dog walk from Chiddingstone to Hever and back. We were desperate for wine, tea and cake ( in that order!). I knew it was under new ownership in the last year or so and have been keen to check it out. It’s tastefully but non pretentiously decorated with fairy lights. We sat in the courtyard with roses growing over the pergola. There’s rich history with the Anne Boleyn connection and you really feel that sense of history.
The afternoon tea was stunning - lemon and blueberry cake and scones. I also thought the Prosecco was reasonable in price (£6.50 for a 200 ml bottle). Loved it so much I’m bringing the family back tomorrow for brunch - tempted by the Shakshuska and savoury American pancakes. Well done team; it really is a triumph!

A lovely afternoon

The Cakes were delicious and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Love the wood burner for chilly days. Also the shop is great, sweets by weight which my daughter loved and a good range of lovely gifts and essentials. Will definitely go again with family and friends.

Good food cafe!

New to me. Popped in for lunch with a friend and we had a lovely time. Obviously take great care to use quality produce and it is such a pleasant place. My double cheese toasty was delicious! Menu and service were good. Will come back.

What an absolutely wonderful tucked away Cafe!

What an absolutely wonderful 'tucked away' Cafe in just the most delightful village of Chiddinstone.
We were cycling our way through and stopped for a lovely cup of Latte plus I simply could not resist their divine array of Cakes and so, indulged in the most delicious home baked and 'huge' slice of Coffee & Walnut one. Very quaint and quirky surroundings with exceptionally friendly staff and even better no OTT 'Muzzle' requirements! :)
