My son Jake is 14 and Maths has been a nightmare subject for him going on two years now. We had a local tutor before this and it just was not working - sessions felt like going through the motions and Jake would come out just as lost as before. A colleague at work brought up Tutorment during a conversation so I figured why not try it.
That was about three weeks ago now. The tutor Jake got matched with is brilliant - calm, clear, and actually takes time to figure out where the gaps are rather than just racing through a textbook. Jake came out of the second session and explained something to me that he had been getting wrong for months. That was enough for me.
The platform itself is simple to use which I appreciated because I am not the most tech savvy person. Booking a session takes two minutes and everything is in one place. I had one small query early on and someone replied to me the same day.
