Pretty happy

I decided to trial the Veg Box Company with a £70 order.

I normally use Riverford for large veg box orders every couple of weeks, but Riverford are getting expensive especially as theres only about about 25% of things where I think organic makes a noticeable difference.

I'm pretty happy with what I got from Veg Box Company, all seems fresh and well packaged. I like they do bread and herbs, and they have a decent selection of stuff, with bulk buy boxes for things if you want them.

I'd love to see them expand their selection to include jalapenos, iceburg lettuce, and maybe some exotic fruits and veg which you cant normally buy elsewhere.

Pricewise, they are mid range. A fair bit more expensive than Tesco, but quite a bit cheaper than Riverford

Website could be better, Clicking 'Add to Basket' doesnt add to your basket but instead takes you to product page, where you then have to click Add to Basket again. It makes building a basket slower than it could be

Perfect products & delivery every time

Ive had several different deliveries from The Veg Box Company, ranging from fruit, veg, meat & cake & even yogurts. Every delivery has been expertly packed, quick delivery, and of such a high quality. The customer service is also incredible & helpful too. I cant recommend this company enough. Don't keep going to the supermarkets... this is as fresh as it gets! And it doesnt get any better. A must try.

Been using this company off and on for…

Been using this company off and on for a while now, but it seems the owner tries to take responsibility for every aspect of the business and for this reason the care, attention, quality and service falls extremely short. He's a lovely guy and enjoy watching him on the TikTok lives, but he needs urgent help in running the business. Ideally he should just focus on his Tiktok Lives, ordering produce and accounts.

In terms of packing/emails/complaints and quality checking he needs someone with the right skills to take over this side of the business.

At the beginning of summer I ordered strawberries, blueberries and other items which arrived mouldy or soft, it certainly was not fresh so everything was thrown away. It took 7 messages for him to refund and constant reminders on live chat it was done eventually. I get the feeling his head is all over the place and takes far too much on.

Delayed deliveries, lack of communication, emails not responded to and the overall quality of fresh produce arriving stale, mouldy or simply does not last 24 hours.

I really want this business to succeed, but reading the reviews the owner really has got to improve things and quickly. There's a lot of competition out there who do a far better job, especially those on the organic side of things which most people want, but the owner must realise if you want repeat happy customers you have to improve.

Yesterday I received another box and several items damaged inside, but the outer packaging was perfect so it wasn't the courier but whoever packed everything.

Order from Australia for my parents in UK

I live in Australia and order a box for me parents back in the UK on a weekly bases.I have to say the veg always turns up fresh and the variety with seasonal items mean there is always something different each week.

Recently I had my card stolen so the payment didn't go through however they still sent the box out without question while I got my card sorted. Highly recommend them.

Immensely disappointing

Ordered on the 26th June, didn’t arrive until 19th July. Had to chase. When food arrived, it had less than a 10 hour shelf life.
I am fortunate that my order wasn’t large but immensely disappointing. Have advised the company, not expecting a response as it took nearly a month to deliver an order.

Rotten and missing products

I placed an order for the first time. Very happy with how quick the goods were delivered however I was missing items, there was a split in the Kiwi fruit, mushrooms looked like they had been in the punnet two weeks just about to go rotten, squashed raspberries, rotten strawberries. I spent £38.00 with this company. I sent an email with photographs of the food the next day and followed up with a telephone call and they promised they would get back to me. They never have. I was under the impression on the call that this is a one man business. Please everybody avoid buying anything from this company

Amazing produce.

Had several orders and the produce is amazing and fresh. No damages in transit. Ignore the bad reviews. I’m sure if anything went wrong then Guy would resolve it for you.

Fresh fruit and veg always...

I would just like to say how much we love this company. They deliver us fresh fruit and veg each week and have done for the last 3 months. It always arrives fresh and on time. I would highly recommend you use them.

Shafted by Company AND Courier

Have used this company before and received goods when they used the APC courier. This time around, they used DPD local. For several days, my order was being held at the Hinckley depot (without explanation). After getting no response from the depot, and since they are a paying customer of DPD, I asked the Veg Box Co to chase this up with DPD. To their credit, somebody call Guy did respond and found out to according to DPD, my parcel had been "damaged" but it had been marked as being delivered.

He promise to replace the damaged order via email, as quoted:

"I am very sorry for this. It appears DPD don't have an answer for me either other then it been held. I am, waiting for my account manager to come back to me. I am going to arrange a new box to be delivered tomorrow for you. If this is not convenient please let me know,."

Although I'd arranged for a redelivery to take place for 8th April, I received no notification that anything had been dispatched and follow up emails from me were ignored. So I got shafted by both the courier AND the Veg Box Co.

So to anyone considering purchasing from this company, your order might turn up. If it doesn't, at best, expect to be given the run around, at worst, expect to be ghosted. The sad thing is, I wanted to support the farmers by shopping this way but now, I might as well go back to shopping at the supermarket. At least I'll get my fruit and vegetables in return for my money.

No good for corporate events

The fruit was good and arrived on time.
However, I wouldn't use this company if you are planning to claim on expenses via your business. They do not send invoices or receipts and do not respond to their website form, emails or voice messages.

Waited months for part of my order.

Waited months for part of my order. Ignored all of my emails and finally responded to my Facebook message saying they’ve refunded me I’ll get it back in 5 days. 10 days later and nothing. I’m going to trading standards unless you get this sorted asap! Owe me £30 for undelivered meat!

Update July 23rd 2025.
Received an email from the veg box company asking for my order number suspecting this review is fake. It’s not, still not received the refund I was promised back in December.

We still havent received the order

We still havent received the order! Order dated 18th November - 164502
We managed to contact you by phone last week and we were promised the order would be with us by Saturday 30th December but we still have not received it.
VERY poor service.

Poor service and Customer service non existent

I have been using this company for a while and whilst there products are generally good, there service and customer service in awful.

I took out a subscription months ago for a veg box, a berry box a bread box and a cheese box.

I've had constant problems with receiving boxes and constantly have to chase up.

They don't keep you updated on your order.

They make constant excuses for not sending boxes out like waiting for bread as bread only sent out 2 days a week or waiting for another cheese delivery.

Instead of arranging early and sending out early they send very late and only after you chase them up.

They take money up to a month in advance for subscriptions which seem rediculous so they know about your order a Month in advance, so plenty of time to arrange the bread and cheese so no excuses really for not sending or sending late.

Just a very poorly run company.

If you have a problem with a order good luck getting a response, even if you do it's just excuse after excuse. There customer service is non existent.

In September I received a very damaged berry box, had to throw most away. I was promised that a replacement box would be sent out, then they made excuses like problems at there farm and berries not ripe.

Tried to be patient and understanding but they went silent. It's now end of November and have heard nothing from them in over a months and still haven't received replacement Berry box.

This month's boxes were due for delivery on Friday 22nd October, Thursday 21st they should have send out which is a bread day, but it's now 25th October and still not received this month's boxes and no communication from them.

I've emailed veg box company twice but so far no response.

When you actually manage to received your order there products are very good. But sadly can not recommend this company due to how poor the service and customer service is.

I would definitely avoid taking out a subscription for boxes with them at all costs, unless you don't mind payment being taken up to a month in advance then fighting to get Boxes.

I've just cancelled my subscription with them as have had enough and will be going else where.

Item never arrived, not refunded, silence from customer service

I ordered two items of which only one was received. Customer services replied to one of my initial messages saying they would send the second part of the order again because it had been sent to the wrong address. More than a month later, despite repeat messages to customer services, I have heard nothing from them. I asked them to refund the missing item and have still heard nothing. Tried to call but no one picked up.
