Airdrie Shop - Took new jeans in to be shortened by an inch. Was firstly shocked at the £14 charge for them. When I collected them, the job was absolutely awful. The hem hadn't been stitched properly all the way round and was loose, the stitching over the seem was like a dogs dinner, and the elastic in the jeans leg had been stretched and uneven . What a mess!

Was told they would be sorted for collection "at any time" on the Thursday morning, for my holiday. They hadn't been touched. Will never be back in this shop. Bring back the wee old lady who retired.

Bedford store is so friendly and the service and alteration were completed quickly to such a high standard.

I have been dealing with The Zipyard in Warrington for years and I have always been extremely impressed with the alterations and service provided. Linda is always professional & helpful, thanks again for another wonderful alteration to an outfit that did not fit.

Great service with a smile. Ski jacket zip broke whilst on holiday. Got it fixed for under a tenner in under a week. Can’t ask for better than that.

I had my wedding dress altered at the Zip Yard Bishop’s Stortford, Ade did an amazing job on my dress, I couldn’t be happier! She also made the whole process so smooth and simple! Thank you so much!

I took a pair of straight trousers in to repair 3 holes and was charged £18. At drop-off, the trousers were briefly looked at and I asked for the price. There was no discussion about transparency, limitations, or the work being unacceptable in appearance. No warning that the repair could not be done properly, nor was any disclaimer given verbally or in writing.

When I collected the trousers a week later, only 2 of the 3 holes had been repaired, and the final one had to be done on the spot. The quality of the repair was extremely poor and left the trousers in a worse condition than before. The stitching is uneven and visually obvious, and one pocket repair reduced usability significantly.

After leaving a Google review, the business responded publically with a detailed explanation claiming that extensive warnings were given and expectations were carefully managed. This account does not match my experience at all.

I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision before trusting this business with their clothing and their replies to 1* reviews from others like myself.

Due to the quality of the repair and subsequent response, I am considering seeking advice from Citizens Advice Consumer Service

I have been to the chapel allerton branch twice this year now and both times I have been blown away by the quality of their tailoring. I am a ladies xs and buy mens clothes (tshirts and jeans) to get tailored to fit me, and the crew at the zipyard manage to transform the way these clothes look on me every time. Very grateful and amazed by their service.

I had a coat rezipped and a couple of buttons replaced at the store in warrington .
The quality of work was superb and it was value for money in my opinion .

Used the zipyard in OADBY, they took time to understand what was needed and offered suggestions even offered to make other adaptations if it would help, very polite and reliable ,granted not cheap but you get what you pay for in this case expertise and a quality job , definitely use again

I would give this no stars if possible. I got a bridesmaids dress altered here. I originally wanted the dress taking up, but the seamstress recommended they take it in as well. When I tried it on before the wedding the dress was completely unwearable, the leg split was in the middle of the dress revealing far too much and the strap was in the centre of the dress, which dug into my neck. The seam was unfinished and began to unravel immediately. I had to order a new dress and pay for next day delivery to have something to wear for the wedding. They also refused to give me a refund for the alteration or pay for the new dress. I would not recommend this place for any alterations, the whole experience suggests they don't know what they're doing.

I would be very cautious when using the branch in Bangor Northern Ireland. I gave this branch a second chance after they lost a pair of cargo shorts i gave them for alteration back in the beginning of Summer. They did eventually find the shorts and offered me a very small discount for their error. ............................................On my second visit recently i wanted a (soft material and very easy to work with) pair of tracksuit bottoms taken in on both legs and shortened. The seamstress was polite and measured whilst i had them on. The young lady at the till ( seemingly the owners daughter) said that it would be £34 . I was astounded to say the least , that is an unacceptable cost for a simple job. I said no thank you and went to the other seamstress in town and paid £22 , a substantial difference in price . So you had your second chance zipyard Bangor , i won't be using you again , Be aware folks of overcharging.

Brilliant service in shortening a wrap for me, expensive but this garment is absolutely perfect and can now be worn..

Had three jackets taken in which otherwise would have been sent to a charity shop. First class work and so quick. Given these quite expensive jackets many more years of service.

Chaple allerton store always gives excellent service. All team working here, could have taken my clothing item and made money on an expensive repair but just made a slight modification to fix the zip for free for me. What a wonderful group of people working here, an asset to chapel allerton. Thank you so much.

What a rude man! I left a brand new pair of trousers in for an adjustment to the leg length. The trousers came back the correct length however, they had tramlines for creases. According to Chris, they don't press the trousers! So, how did a brand new pair of trousers with the tags still attached suddenly have tramlines for creases? Mystery! That's my 1st and last visit to Zip Yard Bangor

Service prompt, contact courteous, zip replacement on favourite fleece jacket excellent, price commensurate and reasonable and follow up to check safe receipt, unexpected and laudable. Well Done the Worcester Branch,

Very disappointed.kept saying they will get back to me and don't. Requested I send them pictures to their WhatsApp that they viewed and ignored then when I follow up with a call to them they say they will get back and they never do then message them, they read but don't reply

I took my daughter's coat in this week to be repaired and I couldn't of asked for better service. The lady was so friendly, service was quick and she did a fantastic job in repairing my daughter's coat. I would definitely recommend.
