Re: Leeds venue. Do not attend.
I am absolutely appalled by the complete lack of professionalism displayed by Timberjacks. Earlier in the week, I had booked an hour-long lane for two people at 1pm as part of my 30th birthday celebrations. The booking cost just under £100 for the lane, extras, and a throwing axe, and I was genuinely looking forward to what should have been a fun and memorable experience.
Which brings us to today, we arrived 15 minutes early for our booking, only to find the venue completely closed. No notice, no communication — nothing. We were left standing outside in the cold, trying to figure out what had gone wrong. After multiple attempts to get in touch, it took a staggering 20 minutes to finally speak to someone associated with this cowboy company. Their excuse? A supposed “glitch in the system” that didn’t register our booking, leading them to close the venue earlier that morning.
This is completely unacceptable. I had received no prior communication about any issues, and at no point it appears did anyone think to double check bookings for the day before deciding to shut their doors. To add insult to injury, their response was apathetic at best. Whilst they did offer a full refund (mind you, I had to press for this) this does nothing to compensate for the stress, disappointment, and utter frustration caused by their incompetence.
This was supposed to be a special day for me, and Timberjacks managed to ruin it entirely. The fact that they think a refund is an adequate resolution shows just how little they value their customers. This company has no regard for professionalism, customer service, or basic accountability.
I wouldn’t recommend Timberjacks to anyone. Avoid this disorganized and unreliable company at all costs if you value your time, money, and sanity.
