Reliable RFID System

We have had a Time systems RFID clocking system for about 15 years and its been 100% reliable with good customer service for software questions. We pay about £150 pa for maintenance (mainly telephone support). However the control unit has died and I was going to go back to them to buy a facial recognition unit but having seen these reviews I am having second thoughts.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your review - we appreciate your positive comments and custom over the years. We supply good products, at competitive prices, complimented by good service. You have had 15 years personal experience of that.
We take all reviews seriously and we do our very best to work with clients whom have concerns. We have been trading for over 33 years with hundreds of thousands of happy customers across the world such as yourself. Unfortunately review sites only make up for a minuscule percent of customers, with an issue only seeming to arise when support isn’t taken once the free period expires which you have always wisely done.
We do hope you will continue to work with us, we have every confidence you will be happy with any new purchase you make. If you need any advice upgrading to a new system please do let us know.

Dirty company, not worth to be with at any cost

Simply keep away from this scam company
Not worthy to be with

1. When you purchase the equipment online / over the phone, the information they provide is unclear and they have this hidden strategy of making you believe as to there is just a one off payment.
2. The equipment is not fit for purpose as the software gives you constant trouble.
3. Only at the end of 1st year, when you are desperately trying to work out the hours to pay your staff and when the software crashes, you will be told that you will have to pay for software support and there is a binding 3 or 5 year contract, which is ridiculously expensive.
4. They never provide you with the code for the software. To get it installed, you will have to ring this scandalous company and they log into the computer to enter the code (???? very treacherous they have access to our entire computer until they finish working on - there is high risk of data loss to this dirty con fellows)
5. The software is absolutely hopeless and if you decide to leave early, you will be bombarded with liquidation charges.

Overall deal with this company if you are ready to throw away almost 1500 Pounds and get nothing out, but frustration.

Ideally this company should have been shut down, but unsure how they have managed to survive this long.

Dear Dix

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction of your order placed 21/12/2016. Your order did include 1 year free support, which expired in December 2017. Additional support is then offered and recommended as it would be with any technology or software.

As a courtesy we contacted you via post and email within a month of your free support expiring to let you know your free support will soon expire. A notification was also sent once the free support had ended. It appears from your account that additional support was not taken.

Our customer service team can be contacted at info@timesystemsuk.com.

Rarely have I dealt with such awful customer service. A shame, as although the system may appear a little basic and is a little difficult to navigate, for my very basic needs it was just right. I was totally happy, until the existing unit was stolen, I purchased a new unit and was told it would work with the existing software. What they didn't tell me was that they would give me absolutely no help whatsoever to get it to talk to the existing software! They would help me, of course, if I paid £200 for a year's support! They wouldn't even let me pay for a month's support in order to get me going. And obviously they won't take the unit back because they say it's not faulty - we don't know if it is or isn't because we can't get it installed!!! Basically, they sold me a useless unit - absolutely shocking - stay well away. Wish I had read these reviews before my first purchase.

Dear Janine

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction of your order placed 13/12/2017. Your order did include 1 year free support, which expired in December 2018. Additional support is then offered and recommended as it would be with any technology or software.

As a courtesy we contacted you via post and email within a month of your free support expiring to let you know your free support will soon expire. A notification was also sent once the free support had ended. It appears from your account that additional support was not taken. Had a support option been taken once your free support ended it would of carried over to cover the new machine.

I purchased a clocking in machine along with the software and licence, due to unforeseen circumstances the machine with the software installed had to be formatted after a month of owning the machine, when reinstalling the software I was provided with a new ID (though on their paperwork it says that computer formats won't do that), to which the company would not provide me the licence activation for, unless I paid again (£45).

Absolutely disgusting, stay away from this company and never purchase from them again, the quicker this company disappears the better it will be for everyone.

I cannot believe how unprofessional and ridiculous this company and their products are. The Computer software is an absolute over complicated mess and their customer service is even worse. They will not give ANY refunds unless the product is physically not turning on, and even then I'd be surprised if they would.
I cannot stress to anyone thinking about buying this product that it will be one of the worst mistake you'll ever make.
I will personally stand at the door for 8 hours a day writing down when everyone comes and goes before I buy from them again.
A proper disgrace of a company.

Products are extremely basic

This company recently attempted to scare me into removing this review with a solicitor's letter claiming defamation.

Products are extremely basic. Software is outdated. Won't accept perfect condition return.

I bought two Geotime 100 systems from Time Systems (UK) Ltd (TimeSystemsUK.com). The products are clearly cheap Chinese products sold at 10x the price of similar systems available elsewhere.

The features that they list on their product pages are not actually present in the products. The machine does not even know that someone is already logged in and can't prevent them from logging in twice!

The machine has no concept of the amount of time that each employee has worked or breaks or anything of that nature.

A homemade CD is provided which contains some very clunky software which tries to pull the data from the device (during which time the device cannot be used) and solve some of the shortfalls of the product (EG by assuming that scans in the morning are clock ins and scans in the afternoon are clock outs). That is clearly flawed to start with.

I have never been successful in getting any kind of report with real data on it out of the software. The only thing I've been able to access is the direct feed from the unit which looks like this:
FPV%100,06/10/2016,13:38:39,0

As I said above, the unit does not provide the time that the employee has been logged in (minus breaks) since it has no concept of the time spent, nor breaks. Either in the file or on the screen. It only knows when someone scanned their finger. (The 0/1 at the end of the file signifies whether the user signalled a log in or log out but there's nothing to prevent them logging in twice and never logging out.)

There's no feedback given to the user about how many hours they've worked that day, how long their breaks have been, or anything of that nature due to the shortfalls of the system.

I asked to return two GeoTime 100 systems, one completely unopened and unused, the other evaluated on my desk only and still with all of the protective plastic, etc intact. I promised to return them in perfect, 'as new condition', so that they could be sold as new. Time Systems (UK) Ltd flatly refused to accept the return.

I would advise you to avoid this company at all costs. The machines elsewhere for £25 have the same functionality - and you're protected by a returns policy!

THERE PRODUCTS ARE FAR MORE EXPENSIVE AND UNRELIABLE THAN YOU THINK

I purchased their Geoface software and hardware. Their software/hardware and customer service has been horrendous.
First of all I purchased their hardware for £340.
They then tried charging me £199 for a "support contract". They tried charging me a further "£45 relicencing fee"
Just after a year into owning a device I tried checking the software only to be granted by their licence registration page.
I asked what would have caused it "a variety of issues, we can resolve it but you'll need to purchase a support contract" so I asked if I were to purchase the contract and they couldn't find as to what had caused it would I be refunded as there's a glitch "no". I asked if I could speak to a manager " they're not willing to take calls". Absolutely atrocious company.
INTERESTING BIT OF INFORMATION: Any problems you have they will give you free support for 90 days, I had these problems every week, every single week for the 90 days. They never resolved the initial issue yet they then tried to charge me £199+vat to fix the issue from then on.
