If I could leave ZERO stars I would. I ported my son’s phone number from Ting Mobile to Mint Mobile in July 2024. This should have automatically terminated service with Ting Mobile. Des... See more

This is absolutely a scam
This is absolutely a scam. I’ve been charged over $100 the past two months even tho I haven’t left my house one time. I always use WiFi and I even have contacts telling me they are trying to call me and no calls can get through? When I called cs all they could do was send me a new sim and tell me to reset my phone to factory settings. I’m done with this company and will be switching carriers. What a JOKE.

I have been a Ting customer for many…
I have been a Ting customer for many years and have been very pleased with it. It excels in customer service. I have had several phones and have never had a problem activating or porting. I have not used data however because I am either at work or home where I have wifi. I have missed having data when away but have lived with it in order to get cheaper phone service. I pay 30-35 a month for two smart phones which is a huge savings over the major carriers. This would all change if I needed to rely on data a lot. I don't know how competitive Ting would be if a person needed a lot of data.

SCAM
SCAM. Ting seems like a good deal at first glance, but they will steal your money. With my normal data usage, my bill should be less than $20 according to their plan. However, my bill is always more than $40. Where are they getting the extra data charges? I use wifi 90% of the time. The only explanation is that they fraudulently charging my account, making it look like I have higher usage than I do. I will be switching to Tello.

Time consuming and frustrating!!
I have only been a customer of Ting for a short time, and I was only going to read their reviews and not write one, but I see someone with a review from Feb 2020 that is very similar to what has happened with us. We are weeks into the process of changing from Consumer Cellular (one star) to Ting, and so far we have one out of two phones functioning. It has been very time consuming and frustrating. After reading a review that is so similar to our experience I may end up just giving up and going to a different company. I’ll be back to change my review if a miracle occurs.
Joke
Ended up having to use TING after I was sold a Sprint phone I was TOLD would be able to be unlocked, it wasn't, and couldn't, so don't even try with their phones. So I was forced to use TING (Sprints MNVO). Most expensive, most spotty and least functional carrier I have ever used by a longshot. Never broke 1MBpS on download speeds, couldn't get a signal virtually anywhere, and they wanted $10 per gigabyte for data. As for what everyone is saying about their customer service, it's absolutely correct. They will not help you. It's all done with computers now so you'll never get a hold of a real person. And if you do, they'll only try to sell you more crap. They tried to say I reviewed the wrong company here too, so here's to you TING, you suck. Lunacy.
Great company
Great company. We have been with Ting for well over 6 straight years and couldn't be happier. I have always been able to reach a customer service rep when needed. We pay for what we use only and their rates are very fair. We have great coverage too here in TN but also when we lived in New York. All in all we are very happy with this company. I hope they stay around forever.
Shady Business and Inept Customer Service
In July of 2019, after being dumped off on Ting by Freedompop, I was told by both Freedompop and Ting that if I wanted to keep my existing phone number that I needed to make sure I signed up with Ting. I attempted to do so no less than 15 times following the instructions to the letter and each time I came up with an error. I sent multiple e-mails to Ting's customer service and was told I needed to contact Freedompop. I then contacted Freedompop and was told to contact Ting. The whole combined debacle took over 3 weeks (the entire time of which I was without service of any kind). In desperation I reached out to another company (Tello) to see if by some miracle I could get up and running with them. Less than 72 hours (less than 3 days) later they had me up and running and managed to save my number. So Tello did in less than 3 days what Freedompop and Ting couldn't do in over 3 weeks. Furthermore Ting's non-promo rates are a joke as even if you use next to nothing you still pay $15 a month (100 minutes, 100 texts and 100MB of data). Conversely for $14 a month with Tello you get Unlimited Talk and Text and 2GB of LTE Data and unlimited throttled speed data afterwards. For $10 a month with Tello you get the same as the aforementioned plan but downgrade to 1GB of LTE instead of 2GB. It would be one thing if Ting had superior coverage, but it doesn't as they are both Sprint based MNVOs. Ironicially Ting sent me an e-mail a few weeks after I switched to Tello telling me I was going to lose my number if I didn't sign up with them. Nice try guys. You will be losing my wife's business as well once her promo ends.
best customer service
i can't imagine where the negative reviews are coming from... I have had this service for 5 years... the price for low to average network usage is unbeatable. the customer service is without a question the best customer service I have ever had. I have used att, sprint and cricket and they all hugely suck in-comparison to ting.
the only draw back is the same with all aftermarket carriers(there are only 3 real networks, the rest are 'after market') the aftermarket carriers get second priority during high volume times., this is almost never an issue with data, but voice can be annoying around 5pm in smaller population areas...
Customer Service - YES !!!
I am 70 years old and have never been treated better, or more professionally, by customer service, than by the folks at Ting. And yes, they are a cell phone company. They have a customer for life. THANKS
